The 2025 China Open wraps up Sunday in Beijing as Amanda Anisimova faces Linda Nosková for the second to last WTA 1000 title of the season. Both arrive in form, each taking a different path through the draw. Anisimova combined dominant stretches with hard-fought recoveries, dropping sets to Muchová and Paolini before overpowering Gauff in the semifinals, while Nosková handled most of her early rounds in straight sets before battling past Pegula in a three-set semifinal to reach her first WTA 1000 final.

China Open Final Prediction For Sunday, 10/05

Anisimova has looked composed and confident since her opening round. She rolled past Coco Gauff in the semifinals, winning 83.9 percent of her first-serve points. That followed comeback wins over Karolína Muchová and Jasmine Paolini, where her heavy first ball eventually took over. Her path: def. Boulter 6-1, 6-3; def. Zhang (13)7-6, 6-0; def. Muchová 1-6, 6-2, 6-4; def. Paolini 6-7(7), 6-3, 6-4; def. Gauff 6–1, 6-2.

Nosková held her nerve all week. She rallied from behind to knock out Jessica Pegula in the semifinals and is now into her first WTA 1000 final at just 20 years old. Her route: def. Wang Xiyu 6-3, 6-2; def. Zheng Qinwen 6-4, 3-6, 3-0 (ret.); def. Potapova 6-2, 6-4; def. Kartal 6-3, 6-4; def. Pegula 6-3, 1-6, (8)7-6. The Czech has already proven she can stand up to elite power, with Top-5 wins over Swiatek at the 2024 Australian Open and now Pegula twice in 2025.

Their head-to-head sits at 1–1. Nosková beat Anisimova in straight sets at Indian Wells 2023, while Anisimova won 6-2, 57, 6-4 at Wimbledon earlier this year. The common thread is how tight the rallies get, both take the ball early, both serve aggressively, and both rely on depth rather than topspin to build pressure.

Beijing’s DecoTurf rewards first-strike tennis and patience in transition, which leans toward Anisimova. Her serve is the single biggest weapon on the court. When she gets that rhythm, points end on her terms. Nosková’s compact swing and counterpunching ability keep her competitive, but her second serve is still attackable. If Anisimova keeps finding forehands early in rallies, the difference in pace will show.

The question is consistency. Anisimova’s highs this season, a Doha title, Slam finals at Wimbledon and the US Open, have been matched by sudden drop-offs including that 0-6, 0-6 loss to Swiatek and a straight-sets loss to Sabalenka in New York, 3-6, 6(3)-7(7). She can go from untouchable to erratic in a single set. Nosková, by contrast, is steady but lacks the outright firepower to end points quickly if the match gets physical. Expect her to keep things close early, but she’ll need Anisimova’s level to dip to make this a full three-setter.

China Open Free Pick & Best Bet Over 21.5 Games (–130 at DraftKings)

The Over makes the most sense here. Both players serve well enough to hold consistently, and neither gives away free games. Nosková has mostly closed out matches efficiently, with her only extended battle coming in the semifinal against Pegula. Anisimova’s aggressive style wins her quick points but also leads to small dips that open the door for closer sets. A 7-5 or 6-4 set in either direction easily clears this total, and a third set is well within reach given the matchup.

Backing Anisimova at -275 on the moneyline isn’t worth it. She’s clearly the better player right now, but she’s not automatic in finals, and Nosková’s ability to absorb pace could keep her around longer than the line implies. The -3.5 spread at -135 is the sharper alternative for those expecting Anisimova to repeat her semifinal level, but Over 21.5 remains the smarter play.
