After an uneventful finish to the first event of the 2026 PGA Tour playoffs with Scottie Scheffler lapping the field, we have our field locked in for the 2026 BMW Championship. Taking place in St. Louis, Missouri at Bellerive Country Club, the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings get their chance to qualify for the Tour Championship, their share of $20,000,000, and their chance to lock up even more money next week.

BMW Championship 2026: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections
The 2nd round of the PGA Playoffs, the BMW Championship has been a mainstay event since 2007. Prior to this though, it was previously known as the Western Open, which had been played since 1899. It was originally hosted right down the road from me at Cog Hill, who hosted 4 of the first 5 years as the BMW Championship. This year, we will see Bellerive Country Club as the host venue for just the 2nd time making it just the 6th venue to host multiple BMW Championships. Bellerive last hosted this event in 2008, and the last time we saw it on the PGA Tour was the 2018 PGA Championship, which was taken home by Brooks Kopeka.
Bellerive Country Club: Course Breakdown This Week
Located in St. Louis, Missouri, Bellerive Country Club is the host site for the 20th BMW Championship. Playing as a Par 70 at 7,448 yards, this venue is much different in terms of difficulty than the venues we've seen in recent weeks. This is one of the longest venues on tour, and presents many unique challenges for the players.
Bellerive is known for the landscape it is built on. While the fairways are large (34 yards wide on average), they often slope towards many bunkers or the rough at the venue. The greens are equally spacious (7,500 sq ft.) but are tiered and ridged creating difficult approach and putting opportunities. Water is in play on nearly half the holes at the venue, and is particularly in play on the final stretch of the 18, leading to the potential for drama at the end of the event.
Generally speaking, the course is relatively straight forward besides the previously mentioned terrain. The Par 3's range from 170 to 240 yards, the Par 4's 360 to 515 yards, and the Par 5's are 613 and 624 respectively. On many of the longer holes, the fairway bunkers are right in the 280-320 yard landing areas that will be in play for most players off the tee, meaning players who can hit past those areas have a distinct advantage at the venue if they can keep driver in play.
The rough is difficult fescue, and it plays in stark contrast to the Zoysia fairways. The GIR percentage falls nearly 40 percent from the fairway to the rough. The greens are so large that even good approach shots can leave 50 plus foot putts for players. Missing the greens creates struggles for players, as the greenside bunkers are deep, and the fescue rough is not easy to chip out of and can cause situations where it is hard for players to get enough spin to hold the greens.
Players this week will need to be long and accurate off the tee, precise on approach, and will need to be able to handle these large green complexes via comfort on bent-grass greens. Even with 10 years between PGA Tour appearances, the winning score at the venue has hovered around -15 under par, and the course should play harder this year than we've seen it before.
BMW Championship 2026 Field: Golf DFS
The BMW Championship field always consists of the top 50 players in the FedEx cup standings. Notably, there were very few changes within this top 50 after the St. Jude, with only Sungjae Im playing his way into the event and Keith Mitchell playing himself out. The top 30 after this week will move onto the Tour Championship, the final event of the 2026 season (sans the Fall Swing). As one would expect, the best of the best are in the field this week, with only 8 players ranking outside the top 50 in the OWGR. Scottie, who won last week, will be looking to secure back-to-back wins, both this season and at this event. Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, and Justin Thomas are the only other winners of this event in the field this week. Rickie Fowler currently holds the final spot in the Tour Championship, but the final spots can be taken by just about anyone if they play well enough this week.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: Top Tier
Scottie Scheffler ($14,400 DraftKings/$15,600 FanDuel)
This might be the most expensive Scottie has ever been, but he may be needed this week to compete in DFS. Scottie is far and away the highest ranked player in my model, and he's coming off his first win since the first event of the 2026 season. He's likely to be high rostered, but his prowess at similar venues has shown us that we'd be unwise to fade him simply for price this week, especially in a deep field with a ton of talent.
Sam Burns ($10,400 DraftKings/$11,900 FanDuel)
Burns is the route I'm going if I'm not taking Scottie at the top. Burns had a solid event, finishing T3 last week, in an event where nobody but Scottie truly stood a chance of winning. Burns offers us a discounted player who ranks no worse than 28th in the field in any of the stats in my model this week. Factor in his upside of putting on bentgrass greens, and the recent strong from (3rd in Strokes Gained: Total over the last 20 rounds), I can't ignore Burns this week.
GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: MID-TIER
Viktor Hovland ($8,800 DraftKings/$10,500 FanDuel)
Much of why I liked Hovland last week are why I'm right back on board this week. His profile is similar for this venue, in that he will need to improve putting on this surface, but his overall strength of approach play and play off the tee right now leads me to believe that he should be in contention yet again. He will need to score better, as evident by his +4 weekend last week, but he's got as much upside as anyone in the field.
Wyndham Clark ($8,700 DraftKings/$10,100 FanDuel)
Wide fairways that should accept high cuts? Count me in on Wyndham this week. Another player who shines in the model, Wyndham bounced back to form at the St. Jude, finishing T5th on the heels of strong approach play and solid putting. Perhaps most importantly, he leads this field in scrambling over the last 30 rounds, meaning he can get himself out of trouble should he find himself in the wrong spots.
Hideki Maysuyama ($9,000 DraftKings/$10,600 FanDuel)
Hideki is an interesting proposition this week. His recent form is elite as he ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Total over the last 20 rounds. His approach play is fringe elite right now, and his wedge game is as strong as it's ever been. His putter is relatively consistent on this surface as well. His driver will be the issue, as he's near the bottom of this field in distance, though his total driving ranks out well. He's going to need some things to go right, but this range requires some risk out of most players, so I'll target one with elite assets.
GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: VALUE TIER
Michael Brennan ($7,300 DraftKings/$9,300 FanDuel)
Speaking of elite assets, I'd be remiss to not include one of the best drivers on the planet. Brennan has strong recent form, as evident by his win to get into the playoffs, and his scoring numbers are elite. He will need the rest of his game to cooperate, which has been the story for most of the year. That said, we've seen the upside that comes with Brennan's game if that happens, and that upside will be needed in an event where we're only choosing from 50 players.
Jake Knapp ($8,200 DraftKings/$9,800 FanDuel)
I'm going to trust that the play we saw out of Knapp last week means that he's back to what he was doing prior to injury this year. Knapp is an elite driver, who has solid all-around play that can bring up his floor every week. He's not played the most at our comp course venues, and he's arguably the biggest question mark in the field. That said, I can't ignore the skillset of one of the most physically gifted players on tour.
Gary Woodland ($6,600 DraftKings/$7,700 FanDuel)
I'll be blunt and tell you this is a gut play. He's the best driver via Total Driving in the field, and he's one of the few players that finished top 10 at this venue in the past. The rest of the profile admittedly is not very good, but if I'm planting any flag this week, it's going to be on Woodland.
