This is the big one folks. You could not have picked a better matchup for this week for Sunday Night Football. It’s an AFC Divisional Round Playoff rematch - and one of the marquee matchups in this league. The Baltimore Ravens vs. the Buffalo Bills

The game last year literally came down to a drop two point conversion. And the NFL MVP battle between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen came down to only a handful of votes. It’s Super Bowl or bust for both these teams and it starts this weekend with the game of the week on Sunday Night Football.

Speaking of best, the guaranteed, two-part DraftKings Sportsbook sign-up bonus that we’ve also shared is the best way to add to any Giants vs. Commanders picks!

Ravens vs. Bills Predictions For NFL Week 1, Sunday 4:25 PM ET

Despite not being in the same division, these teams find themselves playing fairly often. That’s what happens when you win your division. You play the other AFC division winners. And you often meet in the playoffs.

These two teams have squared off six times since Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson joined the league. And two of those games were playoff matchups. They have actually split the six games right down the middle though two of the three wins for the Bills were those two playoff wins. So it really isn’t an even split when you consider the implications.

Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson And King Derrick Henry

The Ravens will be missing some important pieces here this week. They will be without secondary tight end Isaiah Likely, who recently had foot surgery. They will also be missing hybird fullback/tight end Patrick Ricard with a calf issue. The will see Charlie Kolar step into a bigger role than usual.

The offense runs through Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry either way. Lamar is the guy that moves the ball up and down the field between the 20s, both through the air and on the ground. Once they get it in close, Henry takes over. Surprisingly, last year, Henry took 18 carries inside the five yard line and Lamar Jackson did not have a single one. Thought I guess when you have a back the size of Henry that isn’t all THAT surprising.

On defense Zach Orr runs one of the more complex scheme but he has one of the better groups to do it with. Safety Kyle Hamilton was just made a very rich man with an extension and now he’s joined by first round pick free safety Malakai Starks. That could become one of the best safety tandems in the league for years to come.

Buffalo Bills: Mostly Healthy At The Right Time

The Bills will be without kicker Tyler Bass - which is less than ideal. But it could have been a lot worst. Khalil Shakir suffered a high ankle sprain this offseason. And Keon Coleman has been dealing with a groin issue. Both may still be dealing with a little soreness but that’s not going to stop them from playing.

It will be interesting to see how some of the rotations pan out. We know they like to use James Cook, Ty Johnson, and Ray Davis in different spot. Tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox will likely both mix and match some. And new wide receivers Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore will try to crack the lineup with incumbents Shakir, Coleman, and Curtis Samuel. All the personnel usage makes them a big impervious to injury though it also makes Josh Allen the one true “star”.

The Bills defense is loaded up, especially after acquring pass rusher Joey Bosa this offseason. They could be without Tre’Davious White who returned after a brief stint in Baltimore. Matt Milano is often injured but he’s good to go this weekend and he’s quietly one of the better defenders of tight ends in the league.

Ravens vs. Bills: Dalton Kincaid Over 3.5 Receptions (+108 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

There was a report that came out from a beat writer that Dalton Kincaid’s role might not be expected to grow this year. That report was based on their opinion based on what they have seen in camp. And that has naturally sent fantasy gamers and gamblers alike into a tailspin on Kincaid. But that doesn’t necessarily matter for us or this line.

Kincaid COULD have a bigger role. But he doesn’t necessarily need to be a full-time player to hit this line. Last year, despite playing multiple games with a knee issue, he was on pace for 98 targets. In fact, he was a top  12 in a number of stats we like, as we reported in our Ultimate Tight End Guide this year - like the following:

  • Pass Block %
  • aDOT
  • YAC/REC
  • WR Route %
  • YPRR
  • Screens
  • Receptions vs. Man Coverage
  • Forced Missed Tackles

This year, he’s fully healthy and back in that “big slot” role. Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman are a little nicked up even if they are going to go. And this game has shoutout potential with a 50.5 over/under. I think Kincaid could easily clear that 3.5 number - I’m expecting 5.0+ in this one.
