As expected, injuries simply do not stop during the season, as much as we want them to. Notable injuries happened across this league this week, leaving teams and managers scrambling to figure out their rosters. Not to mention, more bye weeks are here. Let’s take a dive into what happened injury-wise this past weekend.

WEEK 5 BYES: Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings

NFL Injury Report for Week 6: Fantasy Football Injuries

NFL Week 6 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

UPDATE

Jackson has been ruled out this week with his hamstring injury. This is not a major surprise, as I did not expect him to return to play until after the team's bye week. Baltimore will have Cooper Rush leading the team once again, hoping for a better start than they got in his previous game.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

UPDATE

Purdy has been ruled out for Week 6. Mac Jones will start once again. Purdy is getting side work in at practice now, but has not yet returned to the practice field.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

UPDATE

Murray is listed as questionable with a foot injury after logging a limited practice on Friday. Murray missed most of the rest of hte week, and overall, I do expect him to play but his rushing upside will be limited, causing him to have to rely more heavily on the passing game. He’s more in the QB18 range for me this week.

NFL Week 6 Injury Report: Running Backs

Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers

UPDATE

Warren practiced in a limited capacity Monday, as he completed some individual drills. Kenneth Gainwell shined in his absence, leading the team to potentially split even more work once Warren does return. Monitor him this week, though the team may be cautious after Gainwell’s career week.

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

UPDATE

Hubbard is listed as OUT this week with his calf injury. Rico Dowdle will get a chance to build on his 200-yard game from last week. Expect him to see the bulk of the work yet again.

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

UPDATE

Irving has been ruled out, leading to another game for Rachaad White to lead the backfield. Sean Tucker will likely work in as well, but recorded just a 21-percent snap share in Week 5. This is White’s backfield for the foreseeable future.

Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers

Hampton will be placed on the IR after suffering an ankle injury (expected to be a high ankle sprain. This is yet another hit for the Chargers, given that they previously lost Najee Harris for the season. Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal are currently the only RBs remaining on the roster, leading this backfield to be more confusing than most.

Antonio Gibson, New England Patriots

Gibson suffered a torn ACL on a kick return on Sunday, ending his season. While Gibson wasn’t taking a ton of the work, the three-way split between him, Rhamondre Stevenson (who has dealt with fumbling issues), and TreVeyon Henderson (who seems to be in the dog house) was confusing to deal with. This should allow the workload split to become clearer for the other RBs in the room.

Tyrone Tracy Jr, New York Giants

Tracy was estimated to be a limited participant on Monday, potentially opening the door for him to return once the team returns to practice on Tuesday. Tracy would likely step back into a solid role, but will likely still split work with Cam Skattebo, who has shone as a blocker and rusher for the team in his absence.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon seems to have picked up a knee injury after Week 5, as he was listed as an estimated non-participant in the Monday practice report. Saquon has not been the player he was in 2024, but has still been a solid fantasy player. Monitor this one, though I don’t expect him to miss time.

NFL Week 6 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons

UPDATE

Mooney was on a bye last week, but is nursing a hamstring injury. He's been ruled out for Week 6.

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers

UPDATE

Coker is officially listed as questionable, and he will be treated as a game-time decision. Coker does not yet need to be activated off of IR, so the team could play it safe with him.

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys

UPDATE

Lamb was hopeful that he could return this week, but he has officially been ruled out. Managers will be without their star wide receiver for at least one more week.

Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

UPDATE

Chase was added to the injury report with an illness on Friday. He is officially listed as questionable, but I expect him to play this weekend though he may be limited snap wise pending on what the illness actually is.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers

UPDATE

Pearsall has been ruled out for Sunday's game due to his knee injury. He has not yet returned to practice at this point, leaning towards it being much more likely to continue missing time.

Jauan Jennings (San Francisco 49ers)

UPDATE

Jennings is listed as questionable and will likely be a game-time decision as he deals with ankle and rib injuries. With all of the other injuries going on in San Francisco, I would not be shocked to see Jennings advocate to play and get back out there

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

UPDATE

McLaurin has been ruled out for their game against Chicago this week. This was expected as he had yet to log a single practice this week. Managers will continue to be without McLaurin for the foreseeable future until his quad gets back to normal.

Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders

UPDATE

Head coach Dan Quinn has stated that we will not have a decision on Samuel until Monday, meaning managers will be in limbo until then. I would prepare to be without Samuel, though the upside is clearly there if you can stomach the risk.

Mike Evans/Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

UPDATE

Evans and Godwin have both been ruled out this week. Emeka Egbuka will continue to operate as the teams WR1, with Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, and Ryan Miller stepping into larger roles this week. This offense has been on fire, even as they’ve dealt with injuries. Egbuka remains a top-12 fantasy WR at this stage of the season

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

Watson will have his practice window opened this week, allowing him to return within the next 21 days. Watson would be a solid addition to this lineup, but I would hold off on fantasy starter status until he returns to a full workload.

Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs

Worthy experienced some swelling in his ankle after the team's flight for their game Monday night, but is expected to play. Worthy has struggled to stay healthy in his career, so hopefully this is a non-issue for him throughout their game against the Jaguars. Her

NFL Week 6 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

UPDATE

Bowers has been ruled out this week. This was expected by many, including myself. Managers will need to continue streaming at tight end until Bowers is back and healthy.

Ja’Tavion Sanders, Carolina Panthers

UPDATE

Sanders is officially listed as questionable, but he will be treated as a game-time decision. I would expect him to be inactive this week, or we would be more likely to have more information that he’s good to go.

Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears

UPDATE

Loveland is back as a limited participant at practice, leaning towards his return to play being likely. Loveland will be a big addition to this Chicago offense that has been making strides throughout the season.

Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars

UPDATE

Strange suffered a hip injury that limited his action in Week 5, but this injury was more than meets the eye. As it turns out, Strange suffered injuries to both his hip and quadriceps, which included ligament damage. Strange will be out at least 5 weeks, leading to him not returning to action until at least Week 11. Strange was earning a larger target share, but this will require managers to find a replacement for Strange for some time.
