2025 Fantasy Football Week 3 IDP Overview

Before we get into the fantasy football Week 3 IDP report, a quick recap of the players and matchups mentioned last week:

Weekly Grade: B

Gary and Wilson Sr. played as expected, but Reddick’s dud put a damper on what could have been a great week. However, a poet once stated, ‘two out of three ain’t bad’, and it rings true for last week’s starts. However, we are on to fantasy football Week 3 IDP and looking for wins.

Fantasy Football IDP Risers

Bryce Huff, DL, San Francisco 49ers

Huff is coming off a Super Bowl win with the Philadelphia Eagles and has a solidified spot on the defensive line. He is a rotational piece to their defensive line and has been a solid addition.

He recorded four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble against the New Orleans Saints. The 49ers play their first home game of the season, and Kyler Murray is difficult to sack. Huff is worth monitoring for the upcoming weeks.

Jowon Briggs, DL, New York Jets

Briggs may be listed as a defensive tackle for the New York Jets, but he has dual eligibility on Sleeper. He has the advantage of playing next to Quinnen Williams, who receives double teams when Briggs is in the lineup. Briggs could have sneaky benefits for IDP rosters.

His snap count went from 18 in Week 1 to 42 in Week 2. He also earned 5 tackles, 2 QB hits, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. He is worth monitoring going forward as an impact player with a mid-level floor.

Dru Phillips, DB, New York Giants

Phillips played 59 snaps in Week 1 and 71 in Week 2. The New York Giants believe in his ability, and he has rewarded the franchise for it. The Giants may not see 52 pass attempts in one game the rest of the season. But the secondary will be targeted to avoid a good defensive line.

In Week 2, Phillips earned 11 tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception. He has an opportunity to keep earning points and provides a mid-level floor. Keep Phillips on the watch list.

Fantasy Football Week 3 IDP Waiver Wire Targets

Calais Campbell, DL, Arizona Cardinals

Calais Campbell is defying time with outstanding play. Not only that, but making an impact as a defensive tackle. He has five combined tackles in each game this season and rotates into the lineup. He played 38 snaps in week one, 39 in week two. He could sustain this pace throughout the season as a 39-year-young IDP.

Campbell closed out the game against the Panthers with a sack. Arizona plays the San Francisco 49ers, then hosts the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans. Two games against quarterbacks that lack mobility, and one against a rookie. There are several opportunities for sacks and impact plays. Get Campbell, especially in leagues that require a defensive tackle.

Devin Bush, LB, Cleveland Browns

Devin Bush has been on this list once this season, but the waiting period is over. Bush needs to be owned after two incredible weeks. His snap count went up in week two, from 45 to 57. The Cleveland Browns appear to be in trouble offensively, which should keep Bush’s snap count high. He leads all Browns linebackers in tackles and should be rostered in every IDP fantasy football league.

Against the Baltimore Ravens, he earned 8 combined tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 quarterback hit, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss. He has 15 combined tackles, 3 passes defended, and 2 tackles for loss. He is currently a top ten linebacker, something any fantasy football manager could use. Put FAAB on him and have a great IDP going forward.

Dax Hill, DB, Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals will be without Joe Burrow for at least three months if not the rest of the season. Every player must step up to rally their team to victory. They have been bailed out in the last two games, and it could be a weird, but good season. For that to happen, the IDPs must make big plays like Dax Hill did against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hill has 18 tackles in two games, 9 of them were solo tackles in week two. He also earned an interception in the end zone last week, which was essentially the difference in the game. He has 14 solo tackles thus far, and as the nickel back, he will continue to get several opportunities

He played 78 snaps in Week 1 and 82 in Week 2. 84 of his snaps have come in the slot, and he will continue to see most of his work there. Grab Hill and have a high-floor defensive back who is capable of the big play.

NFL Week 3 IDP Matchups To Capitalize On

Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Miami Dolphins

Week 3 Matchup: Buffalo Bills

The Miami Dolphins are possibly the biggest dumpster fire in the NFL. However, there are valuable fantasy football players on their offense and defense. One of those players is IDP Minkah Fitzpatrick. He returned to the team that drafted him and is shining once again.

Fitzpatrick played 81 snaps in Week 1 and 71 snaps in Week 2. He does play special teams, but most of his snaps are coming from free safety. Fitzpatrick has a full field of vision and is rewarding the Dolphins with good play. He has 17 combined tackles and 1 pass defended in two games. He should see several snaps against the Buffalo Bills and have a double-digit tackle total on Thursday Night.

Frankie Luvu, LB, Washington Commanders

Week 3 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

Frankie Luvu has yet to bust out this season, but it is coming. Last week, he earned just two assisted tackles, and he has just one solo tackle this season. Despite the low statistical volume, he has played several snaps. Luvu has played 68 defensive snaps in each game this season.

The Washington Commanders played with a massive lead against the New York Giants in Week 1, and were behind almost all of Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers. A positive game script was helpful, and the Commanders have a great opportunity in week three. Luvu should have a big play against a bad offensive line. Geno Smith was under attack all night against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Washington played on Thursday, and Las Vegas played late Monday night. The game is in the early slot on Sunday, and the Commanders have a four-day rest advantage. The game is also in Washington. Look for a big game from Luvu. The “Silver and Black Sunday” of Super Bowl XVIII was over forty years ago, but this match should go much differently.

Harold Landry, DL/LB, New England Patriots

Week 3 Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers

The New England Patriots snuck out a road victory in Week 2. This week, they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have a better-than-expected offense. However, Pittsburgh also has the oldest player in the league for a starting quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers has impressive career rushing numbers (even for a running back, 3,860 yards, 39 touchdowns). But those days are long gone. He is an easier target, and Harold Landry will take advantage of it. Landry has a sack in each game this season and a total of 3.5. He was brought in from Tennessee for two reasons. He understands Head Coach Mike Vrabel’s defense and how to apply pressure to quarterbacks.

He has 8 combined tackles, 6 QB hits, 4 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Landry is averaging 50 snaps per game, and getting to pass-happy Rodgers should be an easy task. Pick up Landry or play him in one-time use leagues with confidence.
