Between there being six teams on bye this week and the explosion of Joe Mixon and Justin Fields, fantasy managers had a lot to deal. The hope is that you were able to ride Mixon and Fields to victory while as we begin to look towards Week 10 of the NFL season while we also saw Davante Adams rebound from a dud week along with Kenneth Walker III and Travis Etienne’s continued breakouts. From an injury perspective, we now have to sweat the outlook of Josh Allen’s elbow along with a myriad of other injuries and four teams on bye. Now, let us take a look at some NFL waiver wire options.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups Week 10

Waiver Wire Quarterbacks

Daniel Jones, New York Giants, FAAB Bid: 2-3%

With six teams on bye this past week, lots of transactions were made in order to ensure fantasy managers had active players in each lineup spot. It is very possible that it led to someone like Jones being dropped in your league, and he is someone to keep an eye as the Giants return to action. Jones is also coming off a rough game in Seattle in which he only threw for 176 yards, while rushing for another 20, and failing to find the end zone. New York is not exactly flush with weapons in the receiving game as Jones has just six passing touchdowns on the season, but he does have 363 rushing yards and three touchdowns for a Giants team that is on the way up.

Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers, FAAB Bid: 1-2%

With Christian McCaffrey now in the fold for San Francisco, Garoppolo is pretty much a caretaker for the 49ers’ offense but he has been doing a good job of it as of late. In each of the last four games, Garoppolo has thrown for two touchdown passes while breaking the 300-yard mark once and finishing four yards shy a second time. It figures to be a solid matchup for Garoppolo against the Chargers this week as he continues to be efficient (11 touchdowns and four interceptions).

Case Keenum, Buffalo Bills, FAAB Bid: 1%

At this point we are still in the waiting stages when it comes to the diagnosis of Josh Allen, but the star quarterback was clearly in pain at the end of Buffalo’s loss to the Jets. Should Allen be forced to miss time, after all it is an elbow issue, then Keenum steps into the starting lineup for a Buffalo team filled with options on the offensive side of the ball. While he is more of a caretaker than anything, Keenum is quite capable of putting up a solid fantasy performance; and that is especially necessary in leagues that require or allow you to start two quarterbacks.

Waiver Wire Running Backs

Jeff Wilson, Miami Dolphins, FAAB Bid: 15%

Wilson wasted no time jumping right into the fray in his first game with the Dolphins as he led the team with 50% of the snaps which led Miami’s backfield. He gained 51 yards on nine carries while also being a factor in the passing game with three receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown. That bodes well for Wilson who has favorable matchup this week against Cleveland as he looks to build on his initial success.

Chase Edmonds, Denver Broncos, FAAB Bid: 10%

A running back that may also have new life following the NFL trade deadline is Chase Edmonds. After losing his starting job to Raheem Mostert in Miami we saw Edmonds traded to the Denver Broncos where he should figure into the team's struggling running back rotation. Edmonds ability as a pass catcher should put him ahead of Mike Boone on the depth chart but we could also see him take on some of the early down workload much like we saw from him during his season with the Cardinals last year given the struggles of Melvin Gordon and Latavius Murray.

Raheem Blackshear, Carolina Panthers, FAAB Bid: 3%

Nothing went according to plan for the Panthers on Sunday, but Blackshear was a bright spot late in the game. The rookie benefited from the injury to Chuba Hubbard and with the veteran potentially still sidelined on Thursday, Blackshear stands to pick up the slack. While he gained 13 yards on five carries along with a touchdown, the rookie also showed an ability to be a factor in the passing game as he caught all four of his targets for 40 yards.

Jerick McKinnon, Kansas City Chiefs, FAAB Bid: 1%

This is a slow and steady trip to the waiver wire as McKinnon begins to get more involved in the passing game over the past few weeks. On Sunday, McKinnon was targeted eight times which led to six receptions for 40 yards as he had multiple targets and receptions for the fourth straight week. Should you find yourself in a tight spot from a roster perspective in a deeper PPR league, McKinnon could be worth a look.

Waiver Wire Wide Receivers

Mecole Hardman, Kansas City Chiefs, FAAB Bid: 10%

Hardman has now caught touchdowns in three straight weeks, and this point it is becoming an actionable trend. Last week, Hardman took a step forward as far as his role in Kansas City’s offense as he was targeted nine times which led to six receptions for 79 yards. We know what Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense is capable of, and with the Chiefs still truly looking to replace Tyreek Hill, it should not be surprising to see Hardman take on a larger role. I am not suggesting that Hardman will perform to the level of Hill, but he is proving to be a capable contributor with real fantasy value.

Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans, FAAB Bid: 5%

Burks landed on the IR prior to the team's Week 5 matchup between the Commanders. He is eligible to return to the field in Week 10 against the Broncos and early reports are that Burks is ready to go once activated. While the Titans passing offense is pretty inept with Malik Willis under center there is hope that Ryan Tannehill will return this week as well. Burks was the Titans best wide receiver when on the field even though the production was limited, the talent is evident and he is available in the majority of leagues right now.

Odell Beckham, Free Agent, FAAB Bid 5%

By all reports we are expecting Beckham to find a new home soon with the Cowboys emerging as a leading candidate for his services. Last season was a bit up and down for OBJ as he worked his way out of Cleveland and landed with the eventual Super Bowl Champions. Beckham was not a featured receiver in the Rams offense but he was productive from a touchdown perspective as he caught five touchdowns in eight games during the regular season and added two touchdowns during their playoff run including in the Super Bowl. Beckham is coming off his second torn ACL so there is certainly some questions as to how much juice he has left but if you are starved for wide receiver help he could be worth the flier.

Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys, FAAB Bid: 5%

Gallup got of to a delayed start this season as he missed the first three weeks and it has been an uneven campaign since. Prior to Dallas’ bye week, Gallup tied his season high with four receptions while picking up a season high 49 yards as he looked to build both momentum and chemistry this season with Dak Prescott. With the Cowboys closer to full strength now, things should improve for Gallup and he is more talented than the other options likely floating around your waiver wire.

Terrace Marshall, Carolina Panthers, FAAB Bid: 3%

The Panthers receiver saved fantasy managers bacon in Week 9 with some nice garbage time production against the Bengals. Baker Mayfield replaced PJ Walker at half time and lead the team to two scoring drives. Marshall finished the game with three catches on six targets for 53 yards and a touchdown. He now has 15 targets over the past two games as he establishes himself as the WR2 in this Carolina offense.  Up next is a rematch against the Falcons whom he had four catches and 87 yards against back in Week 8.

DeAndre Carter, Los Angeles Chargers, FAAB Bid: 3%

Despite not necessarily being at full strength, Carter still had a solid game with battling an illness. Carter caught five of six targets for 53 yards and with both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams slated to be sidelined once again this week, he should continue to have solid role in the Chargers’ offense after being targeted 13 times in the last two weeks.

Waiver Wire Tight Ends

Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos, FAAB Bid: 10%

It is shocking to me that Dulcich is still available in over 70% of ESPN and Yahoo fantasy football leagues. The tight end position has been a swamp all season and all Dulcich has done since entering the Broncos starting lineup is produce double-digit fantasy points in PPR leagues. If you need tight end help, even with the Broncos struggling offense, he is being productive and has to be picked up.

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears, FAAB Bid: 7%

I do not think we can officially declare the Chicago passing offense as a force to be reckoned with, but we did have a fair amount of expectations around Kmet entering the season. After catching his first touchdown pass of the season last week, Kmet followed that up with two touchdowns on Sunday while also having the busiest day of the year. Kmet was targeted six times which led to five receptions for 41 yards as we finally got the performance we were looking for from the start of the year.

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints, FAAB Bid: 2%

After being targeted 15 times of the past three weeks, Johnson was only targeted twice this week, but he did turn that into two receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. With Michael Thomas out for the season, the targets have to go somewhere and Johnson should have a solid role over the rest of the year.
