Latest NFL News & Rumors This Week

The NFL trade deadline is less than two weeks away, meaning the league is about to face a massive shakeup! In today's Latest NFL News & Rumors This Week, we discuss updates to some QB rooms around the league, the blockbuster NFL/Prime Video deal, and much more!

NFL Trade Deadline Heats Up: Jets, Raiders

In last week's Latest NFL News & Rumors, I listed off some of the potential buyers, sellers, and rumors that have been circulating around the trade deadline. Now, it seems like we are getting some clarity about how several teams stand ahead of the November 4th deadline date.

Starting with the Las Vegas Raiders, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has made it known that he is looking to get traded from the franchise. With a 2-5 start to the season in a competitive division, Meyers is very likely going to be on the move. That being said, the Raiders shut down any trade rumors surrounding superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby, meeting with him today and confirming that he is in their future plans.

The struggling Miami Dolphins also shut down any rumors in regards to Jaylen Waddle. With Darren Waller now joining Tyreek Hill on IR today, the Dolphins will need as many pass catchers as they can get. While the door has been closed on a Waddle trade, the Dolphins could still look to trade one of their pass rushers, Jaelen Phillips or Bradley Chubb.

The winless Jets still appear to be the number one “seller” at the NFL trade deadline, with names to watch including Breece Hall, Quincy Williams, Jermaine Johnson, Will McDonald IV, and others.

NFL QB Update: Carson Wentz, Tyrod Taylor

On top of being in the center of trade talks, the New York Jets have had a lot of quarterback drama as well. After a 0-6 start and more struggles from the starting quarterback, Justin Fields, during their Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, the Jets decided to bench Justin Fields mid-game. Going into this week, it was expected that Tyrod Taylor would be the starter for the Jets going forward, but Taylor is currently considered “day-to-day” with a knee injury. He joins the two Jets offensive stars, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, on the injury report, and things are looking more grim than ever for New York. The Jets are taking on Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Things are quite bizarre for the Vikings QB room as well. Going into last week, there was hope that J.J. McCarthy would be back under center for Minnesota, before they decided he wasn't ready yet by the end of the week and Wentz would remain the starter. So, with him being “close” last week, he has to be the starter for this week, right? Well, no. Head coach Kevin O'Connell believes that he is not quite ready just yet, and Carson Wentz will continue to lead the Minnesota Vikings once again. What was first believed to be a minor ankle injury has become a five-plus week injury for the young quarterback.

Finally, the division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers have shown interest in Aaron Rodgers returning to quarterback their team in 2026. The Steelers have dealt with inconsistent quarterback play since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, but Rodgers has looked good in the black and gold thus far. While it was originally expected that this would be Rodgers' last season, the Steelers may be able to change his mind.

NFL Transaction Update: Ray-Ray McCloud, Jude McAtamney Released

In addition to Darren Waller being placed on IR, there have been a few other notable NFL transactions around the league, including two releases. After some off-field drama, poor on-field play, and being a “healthy scratch” during their last game, the Atlanta Falcons have decided to move on from Ray-Ray McCloud. The veteran receiver and return man could look to join a needy receiving group (cough, JETS, cough).

Additionally, the Giants have waived kicker Jude McAtamney, who struggled in the Giants' heartbreaking loss against the Denver Broncos. McAtamney was filling the void left behind by veteran Graham Gano when he got hurt a few weeks ago.

NFL Goes International: Prime Video Black Friday Deal

Today, Amazon and the NFL have announced that the Prime Video broadcast of the game between the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday will be broadcast to a worldwide audience. The matchup will be the first NFL game to be presented globally on Prime Video, reaching over 240 countries and territories around the world. The game will not require a subscription or Amazon Prime membership, meaning almost anyone will be able to see Jalen Hurts and Caleb Williams face off in an NFC battle.
