If you own a Fantasy Baseball 2025 two-start pitcher profiled in the top-two tiers this scoring period, congratulations, as the pickings are quite slim, especially in the middle group. There are plenty of bottom tier arms to avoid, unfortunately. On the plus side, the number of Fantasy Baseball 2025 streaming starters is quite generous this week, so take advantage of the waiver wire and seek out some counting stats while not harming your ratios.

Please realize that these articles feature most recent rotation information available when the article is written, but that circumstances do change due to weather conditions, injuries and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies but this article is meant to provide analysis, it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

There are but nine SPs that are undoubtedly worthy of plugging into your fantasy rotations for both their starts without any real trepidation about the results you can anticipate receiving from that decision. Anticipate similar limitations on the quantity of ace arms to use for dual trips to the hill as the season winds down and teams adjust their rotations while looking to maximize postseason effectiveness of their pitching staffs. Take advantage of the hurlers that offer the best bets at counting stats combined with superior ratio results.

The rookie Dana’s first start of this season went well, as he held the host Royals to just two hits and walk while tossing 5.0 IP of two run (only one earned) ball. He should be good for average K production, as well, judging by his minor league results. Seattle has been struggling of late, so good time to make the trip up the coast for the second start of Week 24. Getting to face the Twins at home has its positives, as well, as the Twins are well below .500 on the road this year.

The rookie righthander, Bergert, held the visiting Angels to a single earned run over 5.0 IP in his most recent start, continuing to build on his success since joining the Royals from San Diego at the trade deadline. He currently has a superb 2.43 ERA and 0.99 WHIP over his 33.1 IP while in a Kansas City uniform. He has also collected a useful 31 Ks over those appearances.

Crismatt, the 30-year-old righty, twirled a QS in his last time toeing the rubber, and came within an out of a similar result in his prior start. He has a superior 2.14 ERA over his four trips to the hill this season, but his 1.33 WHIP demonstrates his control issues, which are a concern if you want to use him as a dual start option. His ability to generate groundballs from opposing hitters (48.5% GB rate over his limited 21.0 IP) is useful in maintaining the low run production while he is on the hill.

Ashcraft, the rookie righthander, has been extremely effective over his last 18.2 IP, allowing just two earned tallies over that stretch of games while also accumulating a 19:6 K/BB ratio. His success on the mound has been at its best while away from PNC Park, so these outings play to his positives.

The veteran righthander Houser collected a victory, despite allowing four earned runs to the visiting Mariners in his most recent QS appearance. He has a good opening matchup here, although it would be more favorable were he not dealing on the mound on the road, given his home/road splits this season. Then again, he is returning to his former home park before his trade to Tampa Bay. The second start of Week 24 carries less cachet when he heads to the North Side of the Windy City to take on the Cubs.

Warren has limited opponents to two or fewer runs in seven of his last eight trips to toe the rubber, racking up an attractive (for fantasy purposes) 2.79 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over the course of those 42.0 IP. His K rate has been down over his recent trips to the hill, which reduces his value a tad.

Loads of hurlers that will take the ball and head to the mound for two starts this week, and these are SPs you would be best off leaving on the wire or your bench. Any counting stat value is offset by their potential ratio stat damage waiting for you if you dare employ the services of these bottom-tier arms.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 24

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 streaming starters candidates:

Joey Cantillo, CLE vs Kansas City Royals

The second-year southpaw is coming off a QS effort at Fenway Park, holding the Red Sox to a single earned run while fanning seven Boston hitters over his 6.0 IP in his last time on the bump. He will be at home for this contest, but Ks may not be as available as the Royals are the best at not swinging and missing while at the plate.

Bryce Elder, ATL vs Chicago Cubs

The righthander is going to face the team he recently held to one run on four hits at Wrigley Field, this time in his home park. Admittedly, he has not been at his best while dealing from the home field, and he has been inconsistent on the hill this season, but he did stymie this team last time out.

Michael McGreevy, STL @ Seattle Mariners

The Cardinal righty has shown a propensity to toss six innings in his starts, having done so in each of his his August appearances. Although he has been far below league average in Ks (5.3 K/9 over those 36.0 IP), he has posted a useful set of ratio stats: 3.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP. Given his road warrior home/road splits this season, a trip to the hill in Seattle makes for an intriguing streaming opportunity.

Jason Alexander, HOU @ Toronto Blue Jays

The righthander has been remarkably effective over a span of seven times scrapping the slab, allowing three or fewer runs in each game over those 38.2 IP, racking up a useful 2.79 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. The 38:10 K/BB ratio is useful, too, and his trip north of the border fits well with his road success on the season.

Javier Assad, CHC @ Atlanta Braves

The replacement in the Cub rotation while Jameson Taillon is on the IL has been generally effective over his four fill-in starts, and seems to have locked in his place for the meantime in the Chicago rotation. He finally picked up a victory, at Coors Field to boot, by holding the Rockies to three runs while being credited with a QS. He did have but a single K; it has been his command and control that serve him as opposed to an ability to generate Ks.

Ian Seymour, Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox

Shane Smith, Chicago White Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays

Our only head-to-head matchup in Week 24 features a pair of hurlers that have been effectual over their last two outings. The Rays’ rookie southpaw Seymour has fanned eight opposing batters in each of his most recent two starts, allowing just one earned run over those contests while allowing just five hits and two walks in collecting two victories. The pitcher for the Pale Hose has tossed a pair of QS for his last two outings, holding the visiting Yankees and Royals to just four safeties and three free passes but only collecting one victory despite his superior mound efforts. This matchup has the potential for fantasy goodness on both sides of the field, pitching-wise.

Johan Oviedo, PIT @ Baltimore Orioles

The 27-year-old righthander has looked great over his last three starts, rolling up a 2.57 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with an attractive 17:5 K/BB ratio over those 14.0 IP. In limited mound activity, he has been better on the road than at PNC Park, so the trip to Camden Yards has good potential as a streaming start in the season’s final month of action.

Justin Verlander, SF vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The veteran future Hall of Famer may be winding down his MLB career, but has been fantasy friendly over his last two times on the hill, and collected double digit Ks in his last start, striking out 10 visiting Oriole hitters over his 5.0 IP. This may not be the ideal matchup, but he is pitching at home, and that has been a plus for him during his year with the Giants.

Tanner Gordon, COL @ San Diego Padres

The second-year righthander has now twirled three consecutive QS, where he has struck out nearly a batter per frame: 17 Ks over 18.0 IP. He has struggled on the road, but one of his recent QS took place in Houston, so that is a plus. His peripheral metrics also indicate that he may have been a bit unlucky to this point in the season: 4.15 FIP vs 6.07 ERA, .358 BABIP, 60.3% LOB.

Martin Perez, CWS @ Cleveland Guardians

In four August starts, the veteran southpaw has been effective, posting a superior set of ratios with a 1.25 ERA and 0.74 WHIP over his most recent 21.2 IP. He has also demonstrated command and control, with a 1.7 BB/9 rate, and an attractive 8.7 K/9 rate with his 21 strikeouts. He will look to pick up a third consecutive QS when he heads to the hill in Cleveland in this contest.

Luis Severino, ATH vs Cincinnati Reds

His return from the oblique injury that landed him on the IL was efficient and successful, as he held the host Cardinals scoreless on three hits and a walk over 5.0 IP. The inning limitation will likely be relaxed as the veteran righty works his way back into the rotation in full. Facing the Cincinnati squad away from their home park, despite Severino’s tendency to be a road warrior this season, is a positive.
