Happy Tuesday, March 31st. We have a 10-game MLB slate on DraftKings and FanDuel.

It's a very fun slate as teams have their rotations turning back and the front-end of their rotations are taking the mound. Hunter Brown, Max Fried, and Logan Webb are all making their second trips around the sun. Elite offenses such as the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are all implied over five runs and should be targeted.

What can you expect from the playbook?

Well, first and foremost, you'll get a broad overview of the slate. You'll get our top spend-ups and value plays on the mound and at the plate. Some of our favorite stacks and even some leverage to go along with it. You can find all of our ownership on-site, lineups pages here, and many more tools we have to offer. We'll have a player grid at the bottom of this playbook, too, and narrow that down into some core players for today's main slate.

💎 PITCHING COACH

Top Tier

Hunter Brown (HOU) | vs BOS

Analysis: The Red Sox offense has been asleep at the wheel against right-handed hurlers to start the year as they've posted a 30% K-rate and an OPS below .700. Brown started off his season with nine punch outs and has a massive ceiling.

Shohei Ohtani (LAD) | vs CLE

Analysis: The weather is the concern here. Ohtani worked up into the 80s in terms of pitch count in his final spring outing, so he'll be a full go here. He also had 11 strikeouts in that game and we know his ceiling is as high as anyone on the slate because of the ability to miss bats.

Logan Gilbert (SEA) | vs NYY

Analysis: Nobody on the slate has a higher strikeout O/U than Logan Gilbert as it sits at 7.5 which is a BIG number. The Yankees – although a dangerous offense – strike out a lot. To start the year, NYY has a 30.6% K-rate, which ranks 4th in baseball. They have a .103 ISO and .633 OPS to boot. The ballpark suppresses power, too, so I like Gilbert quite a bit.

Value Plays

Kodai Senga (NYM) | vs STL

Analysis: Senga is coming off a disastrous 2025 but had a good spring to boot. He gets a great matchup to start his '26 as he faces off against the Cardinals. The Cards have the fourth-lowest implied team total of the day. The Cardinals are 23th in OPS against right-handers.

Max Scherzer (TOR) | vs COL

Analysis: The 41-year old Scherzer had a really good spring training and now has a good matchup against the Rockies. Toronto and the Jays are massive favorites against the Rockies as they check in at -254. The Rockies have a 24.8% K-rate against righties to start the year.

Jose Soriano (LAA) | vs CHC

Analysis: The winds are blowing in and it's cold, which bodes very well for pitchers. Soriano had a 69% GB rate in his first start and his 63% clip last year was 100th percentile. He also posted a 29% K-rate, which is where he's lacking sometimes. If he can miss bats and keep everything on the ground, he could dominate in elite pitching weather. Nobody's playing him either.

💎 HITTING COACH

Elite Bats

Vladimir Guerrero (1B, TOR)

Analysis: Guerrero has had an OPS of .800 or better against righties in four of the last five seasons and the one in which he didn't he had a .792 mark. He's the best player on a team with the highest implied team total.

Riley Greene (OF, DET)

Analysis: Death, taxes, and lefties against Branon Pfaadt. Greene hit 32 of 36 homers last year off righties.

Ronald Acuna (OF, ATL)

Analysis: The Braves look really good today going up against Aaron Civale who had a pretty bad year and despite pitching poorly, his numbers under-the-hood look even worse. Righties had just a .261 BABIP yet a 4.78 xFIP and with all the flyballs he allows, the Braves could hit a bunch of homers tonight.

🏗️ THE STACKING BLUEPRINT

Primary Stack: Toronto Blue Jays

Targets:  Guerrero Jr., Varsho, Sanchez, Barger, Okamoto

Opponent: Colorado Rockies | 8.5 total | TOR implied 5.4 | Lock: 7:40 PM ET

Why: Nobody on the slate has a higher implied team total than the Toronto Blue Jays. Lefties posted a .483 SLG% and .383 wOBA against Feltner in 13.2 IP last season. Lefties also crushed him in '24 posting a .332 wOBA against him. Lefties have a career .338 wOBA while righties are at .328 against Feltner for his entire career.

Primary Stack: Detroit Tigers

Targets: Greene, Carpenter, McGonigle, Keith, Meadows

Opponent: Arizona Diamondbacks | 9.0 total | DET implied 4.7 | Lock: 9:40 PM ET

Why: Lefties have given Brandon Pfaadt issues all three years of his career and today he faces a very lefty-heavy Tigers lineup. Through 227.1 IP against lefty swingers, he's allowed a .332 OBP, .475 SLG%, and .345 wOBA. It's a tough lineup to navigate when you struggle against lefties.

Primary Stack: New York Mets

Targets:  Soto, Polanco, Baty, Lindor, Benge

Opponent: St. Louis Cardinals | 8.5 total | NYM implied 5.1 | Lock: 7:45 PM ET

Why: Andre Pallante had a very tough 2025 and while he was reverse splits for most of his career, both sides of the plate did serious damage against him. Righties had a .337 wOBA while lefties have a .331 mark last year. For a heavy ground baller, 21 HR is a lot.

Contrarian Stacks

  • Dodgers Stack (Contrarian):  With Shohei Ohtani not available as a hitter it doesn't hit as much as it normally does, but the Dodgers are getting no ownership against a pitcher coming off a shoulder injury.
  • Giants Stack (Contrarian):  German Marquez is on the mound. He's not a great pitcher even if he's putting on a different jersey. Righties and lefties both had a .393 wOBA against him last year.

📈 THE LEVERAGE REPORT (GAME THEORY)

The field is converging on Luzardo at pitcher, CHC as the primary stack, and Yordan Alvarez as the elite bat anchor. The plays below identify where you can generate lineup differentiation while maintaining exposure to quality game environments.

The Winning Logic

Logan Gilbert (top proj SP)Shohei Ohtani (LAD)If the weather gets any better in LA, Ohtani has as high of a ceiling as anyone on the slate.
NYM (NYM 5.1 implied)SF Stack (SF 4.5 implied)German Marquez can put on any jersey and he's still German Marquez. Giants could break out here.
TOR Stack (TOR 5.4 implied)DET Stack (DET 4.7 implied)I like the Tigers lefties against Brandon Pfaadt today.
George Springer (heavy chalk hitter)Kerry Carpenter (DET)Tigers have lefty-heavy lineup. Brandon Pfaadt struggles with lefties.
Max Scherzer (TOR, heavy chalk)Kodai Senga (NYM)Senga had a really good spring training and is a super high upside pitcher. Scherzer is 41-years old.
