Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Wednesday, September 3rd!

Let’s start the week on the right foot with some winning lineups today. We have an 8-game main slate in store for us this evening on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:35 PM ET. Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook

MLB Weather: Wednesday, 9/3

Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs

There is rain in the forecast and the rain coming is likely going to cause a delay, possibly a late start. When the game kicks off, it should play without any issue.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals

There's a chance at a delay here. Nothing overly concerning.

Athletics vs. St. Louis Cardinals

There's a chance for a rain delay.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Robbie Ray, San Francisco Giants

It's a tricky one because the Rockies haven't been bad against lefties at home and Ray has a very high ceiling and low floor. Coors Field is obviously the worst spot on the board, but the price is great for Ray. He's going to be the most rostered expensive pitcher.

Zebby Matthews, Minnesota Twins

The White Sox got off to a quick start in the second half of the year but have slowed down since August 1st. They rank 19th in OPS in 18th in wOBA and wRC+ against righties while striking out 23% of the time. Matthews does just that; strike people out. He misses bats. He has a high ceiling here because of that.

Will Warren, New York Yankees

The whole year Will Warren has struggled with lefties and has dominated right-handers. The Astros only have two, possibly three lefties in their lineup. Warren has a 31% K-rate against righties, too, and there are six or seven of them in the Houston lineup.

Ryan Bergert, Kansas City Royals

It's been a five start sample for Bergert with the Royals and he's pitched to a 2.54 ERA, held opponents to a .200 AVG, .257 OBP, and .270 wOBA. His 22.1% K-rate is up from his time with the Padres, too. He's a little reverse splitsly, which is scary against the Angels, but they also have near 30% K-rate against righties since the break.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

San Francisco Giants in Coors…Again

This one isn't too hard. The Rockies face off against German Marquez and he's not a very good pitcher.

vs. LH - .222 ISO, .225 xISO, .396 wOBA, .383 xwOBA, 15% K

vs. RH - .195 ISO, .158 xISO, .368 wOBA, .347 xwOBA, 16% K

Hard to ignore the Giants here vs. RHP;

Yankees hit Home Runs

The New York Yankees have hit 236 home runs this year and second is the Dodgers at 204. Against right-handed pitching, the Yankees have hit 179 and second is the Angels at 152. This year, they're 1st in OPS, ISO, 2nd in wOBA and wRC+.

They face off against Jason Alexander who has struggled specifically against left-handers this season.

Lefties have a .246 ISO, .209 xISO, .365 wOBA, .375 xwOBA, 1.8 HR/9, 38% GB, 48% HH

Jazz Chisholm, Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, & Ben Rice are the priorities. You can use Jasson Dominguez & Ryan McMahon as final pieces in from the left side.

You can always play Aaron Judge & Giancarlo Stanton too.

Royals Square Off Against Caden Dana

Caden Dana gets the ball for the Angels on Wednesday and he hasn't had a great season at the Triple-A level. He has a 5.93 ERA and 5.72 xFIP and has allowed 1.5 HR/9. He's made two appearances at the major league level and hasn't looked good there either pitching to a 7.5 ERA.

Between the two levels, lefties have a .901 OPS against him while righties have a .782 OPS.

The Royals are potentially going to throw five lefties at Dana and Vinnie Pasquantino and Mike Yastrzemski are the priorities. Michael Massey and Adam Frazier aren't bad as cheaper options. Jac Caglianone should be back in the lineup too.

Obviously playing Bobby Witt, Salvador Perez, and Maikel Garcia round out the stack well.

Philles/Brewers Game Stack is..INTERESTING

I think both offenses could absolutely EXPLODE here as Jose Quintana has been lucky ALL YEAR LONG and Aaron Nola hasn't looked good since returning from the injured list.

We'll start with Quintana. He has a 3.69 ERA, but a 5.21 xERA, 4.96 xFIP, and 5.05 SIERA

Lefties have actually hit him for a LOT of power as they've averaged 1.8 HR/9 and .185 ISO, .182 xISO, and a 20% HR/FB

Righties have been the split that have been unlucky and that could come to a halt here with how good some of the righties are. They have a .125 ISO, but .189 xISO. Also a .308 wOBA but a .370 xwOBA.

I'd love getting to a Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Harrison Bader, Edmundo Sosa five-stack. J.T. Realmuto and Alec Bohm probably connect a little better, but are more expensive.

On the other side, Aaron Nola is not getting lefties out. At all. .268 ISO, .270 xISO, .391 wOBA, .406 xwOBA.

Brice Turang, Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, and Isaac Collins are the top four lefties on the Brewers. Jackson Chourio and William Contreras correlate well in stacks, too.
