Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Wednesday, August 6th!Â
Welcome to Wednesday! Another day full of baseball with plenty of early games before we get into our 5-game main slate this evening, starting at 6:45 PM ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. A smaller slate means less to choose from than usual, but our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.
Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!
Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
Tune into the MLB DFS Livestream at 5 PM ET to watch us break down today’s slate, give you last-minute advice, and answer any questions before locking in those lineups!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
George Kirby, Seattle Mariners
George Kirby against the White Sox, what is there not to like? Kirby has been pitching solidly lately, albeit not the most dominant version of Kirby we have ever seen. Still, the strikeouts have been there, and I do think we will see him continue to improve as he keeps going, considering this is still only his 14th start of the season. He is the clear top pitcher on the board today in a great matchup.Â
Spencer Strider, Atlanta Braves
I still don’t completely trust Spencer Strider. He has been walking too many and giving up too many hits, but the strikeout numbers have still been elite. Only 3 strikeouts in his last outing, but he put up 11, 8, and 7 in the three starts before that. Milwaukee is a tough offense to face, but the reality is there aren’t any pitchers after Strider that I trust at all today, so I am going to take the strikeout upside of Strider even if it comes with some risk.Â
Michael Wacha, Kansas City Royals
As I said, there are not any pitchers I trust after Strider today. However, if you really need to save some money and can’t pay up for the Kirby and Strider duo, Wacha is the one I would be running with. He has the ability to rack up strikeouts and is just a solid pitcher who you can trust not to get blown up. The Red Sox offense is very good, but they can still strike out a ton, so he could be worth a shot today.Â

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners have quite the threatening lineup after the trade deadline with the additions of Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez. Just like I love George Kirby getting to face the White Sox, I love this lineup getting to face Jonathan Cannon and the White Sox. They are easily my favorite to stack today with Randy Arozarena, Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, Josh Naylor, and Eugenio Suarez being my favorites to target.Â
San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres are a lineup that hasn’t necessarily been performing at the level that they should be. Still, I like them to do some damage today against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This will be Anthony DeSclafani’s only 3rd start of the season. His last start, he only went 2.1 innings, giving up 4 earned runs against the Athletics. The Padres should be able to put up some runs on them, and then they will test the Diamondbacks' bullpen. I like plenty of the options in their lineup, like Fernando Tatis, Manny Machado, Jackson Merrill, Xander Bogaerts, Ryan O'Hearn, and Ramon Laureano.
Kansas City RoyalsÂ
Dustin May is getting his first start as a part of the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park today against the Royals. Dustin May hasn’t been great this season with a 4.85 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, and I am guessing that he could struggle in his first outing with his new club, with not much time to get settled into the new team yet. I like taking a shot on some Kansas City Royals players like Maikel Garcia, Bobby Witt, Jonathan India, and Sal Perez today in this matchup.Â
