Welcome to Fantasy Alarm’s MLB DFS Playbook for Sunday, June 1st, covering the DraftKings and FanDuel main slates!Â
Our team of experts has poured over the matchups, stats, and trends to bring you a curated selection of top plays and value picks to help you build winning lineups.Â
Whether you’re chasing big GPP prizes or looking to cash in head-to-heads, we’ve got you covered with insights designed to give you an edge. Let’s dive into today’s slate and get ready to crush it!
Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!Â
Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook
MLB Weather: Sunday, 6/1
No major weather concerns today. Wind is blowing out 15+ MPH in New York for Rockies vs Mets.
Â
Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Pitching is LOADED today with Hunter Brown, Garrett Crochet, Jacob deGrom at the top of the slate and Clay Holmes with a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies.
The mid-tier sees Ranger Suarez coming off back-to-back shutout starts against the Brewers and Ryan Weathers and his new found velocity taking on the Giants.
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Garrett Crochet, Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox are in need of a big outing today by Crochet as the big lefty takes the mound after suffering a tough luck loss to the Brewers in his last start in which he tossed 6.2 innings while striking out 11.
He just faced the Braves a few starts ago and he shut them down, allowing just two runs over seven innings while striking out eight.
Clay Holmes, New York Mets
Chalk play of the day with Holmes drawing the start against the Colorado Rockies.
Holmes has been solid for the Mets this season, going 5-3 with a 2.98 ERA while striking out 56 over 60.1 innings.
The Rockies have one of the highest strikeout rates in baseball against right-handed pitching this season and their offensive numbers away from Coors Field continue to be very bad.
Ranger Suarez, Philadelphia PhilliesÂ
After an initial blip against the Diamondbacks in his debut start, Suarez has been lights out this season, tossing shutouts in three of his next four appearances, allowing just three total earned runs over his last 26.2 innings while striking out 25.
The Brewers have a 23.2% strikeout rate against southpaws this season while hitting just .237 with an ISO of .111 and a .296 wOBA.
Ryan Weathers, Miami Marlins
Weathers increased velocity has been the talk of the town this season with him touching 99 MPH with an average of 97.4 MPH after averaging 95 MPH on his fastball last season.
The Giants have the sixth highest strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season with just a .219 average, .134 ISO and .285 wOBA.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
We have the Mets against a lefty in Carson Palmquist today and with a ton of elite pitching on the slate, there are only a few bingo spots for us to stack against. Look for the Mets to be very popular today, especially with 15+ MPH winds blowing out.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
New York Mets
Yeah, just reiterating the fact that the Mets are going to be the chalk bats here today. Carson Palmquist has not pitched well in his three outings this season and he got very lucky in his last outing against the Cubs. Just look for Lindor, Alonso, Vientos and others to be core parts of lineup stacks here today.
Ernie Clement, Toronto Blue Jays
The A's are sending their third left-handed pitcher of the series to the mound today in JP Sears which means we just have to go back to Clement who has smashed in this series and continues to smash against left-handed pitching. He's still very cheap and should be a very popular value play today given the expensive pitching and chalky Mets.
Chicago Cubs
Nick Martinez continues to limit the damage against him and the overall peripheral numbers don't look awful either but the Cubs lineup is elite, especially when at home and they are a tough matchup for any pitcher, especially one that doesn't miss all too many bats.
The Cubs could be a nice pivot off of the Mets stack.
Baltimore Orioles
Listen, if Adrian Houser is going to throw a third straight shutout then that's just what he's going to do but he has NEVER been this kind of pitcher and he has a 100% strand rate.
The Orioles actually hit right-handed pitching well and their home ballpark fits their ability to put runs on the board.
