This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting main slate in terms of pitching today.  We have a lot of mid-rotation or lower pitchers toeing the rubber today.  However, some of them still have some good upside in their respective matchups.

High-end options include Sonny Gray and Grant Holmes.  The mid-range includes Jose Berrios, Jose Quintana and Mitch Keller.  We also have a couple of paydown options with upside in Brayan Bello and Zach Eflin.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Jose Berrios, Toronto Blue Jays - DraftKings $8,300 | FanDuel $9,000 (Early Only Slate)

Berrios is looking to bounce back after a rough start against the Phillies. However, he draws a much weaker White Sox lineup today.  He enters Saturday with 3.81 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 76 Ks in 87.1 IP.

Berrios enters this matchup against the Chicago White Sox with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the White Sox during the 2024 season.  He put up 37 FanDuel points and 17.5 DraftKings points.  Look for Berrios to continue his success against the White Sox today.

Mitch Keller, Pittsburgh Pirates - DraftKings $7,700 | FanDuel $8,400 (Early Only Slate)

Keller has been struck with some tough luck during the 2025 season.  He enters Saturday with 4.08 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 68 Ks in 88.1 IP.

Keller enters this matchup against the Texas Rangers with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Rangers during the 2024 season.  He put up 58 FanDuel points and 36 DraftKings points. Look for Keller to have some better luck on Saturday.

Jose Quintana, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $7,900 | FanDuel $7,600 (Very Early Only Slate)

Quintana has been a reliable arm for the Brewers since joining the rotation.  He enters Saturday with 3.35 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 35 Ks in 48.1 IP.  

Quintana enters this matchup against the Minnesota Twins with decent but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Twins during the 2024 season.  He put up 40 FanDuel points and 21.9 DraftKings points.  Look for Quintana to continue his success against the Twins on Saturday.

Brayan Bello, Boston Red Sox - DraftKings $6,400 | FanDuel $7,700 (Early Only Slate)

Bello is my favorite paydown pitcher for Saturday’s slate.  He is coming off his best start of the season where he posted a strong 7 IP 0 ER and 8 Ks.  He enters Saturday with 3.49 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 45 Ks in 59.1 IP.  

Bello enters this matchup against the San Francisco Giants with very limited history against their hitters in the past.  He did not start against the Giants during the 2024 season.  Look for Bello to continue his recent success if he can limit the walks today.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is an attractive slate for hitters as we have a lot of mid-rotation or lower pitchers toeing the rubber today.  We also have a handful of games with warmer weather and the wind blowing out.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Willson Contreras, St. Louis Cardinals - DraftKings $4,100 | FanDuel $3,400 (Very Early Only Slate)

Contreras has been hitting for more power as of late.  He has at least one hit in 8 of his last 11 games.  He has 2 multi hit games and 3 HRs during this stretch.

Contreras has good history in the past against expected Reds starting pitcher Chase Petty.  He is 2 for 2 with 1 HR against Petty in his career.  Look for a strong performance out of Willson Contreras and the Cardinals lineup on Saturday.

Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles - DraftKings $4,800 | FanDuel $3,300 (Very Early Only Slate)

Henderson has been on fire as of late.  He is currently on a 13 game hitting streak.  He has 5 multi hit games and 0 HRs during this time span.  

He has fared well against Yankees expected starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt in the past.  He is 4 for 16 with 1 HR against Schmidt in his career.  Henderson looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Baltimore Orioles stack for Saturday’s slate.

Vladimir Guerrero, Toronto Blue Jays - DraftKings $5,000 | FanDuel $3,200 (Early Only Slate)

Guerrero has been solid as of late.  He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 9 games.  He has 4 multi hit games and 1 HR during this stretch.

Guerrero has good history in the past against expected White Sox starting pitcher Aaron Civale.  He is 4 for 10 with 1 HR against Civale in his career.  Look for a strong performance out of Vladimir Guerrero and the Blue Jays lineup today.

Cody Bellinger, New York Yankees - DraftKings $4,700 | FanDuel $3,200

Bellinger looks like a solid value for today’s slate.  He is currently on a 3 game hitting streak.  He has 2 multi games and 1 HR during that time span.

Bellinger is 5 for 16 with 2 HRs against Zach Eflin, the expected starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.  Look for another strong performance out of Cody Bellinger on Saturday.
