MLB Week 26 Injury Report Update: Pitchers

Jose Berrios, Toronto Blue Jays - Elbow

Berrios, who was going to pitch in relief in October instead of in the starting rotation, was placed on the injured list with inflammation in his right elbow.

Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners - Pectoral

The Mariners have their eyes on the postseason, so Woo’s next start will be skipped, with the hope that he’s ready to go in October.

Cade Horton, Chicago Cubs - Back

It seems like there is a little something going on with Horton’s back, but he’ll pitch through it. Of starting pitchers with at least 50 IP since the All-Star break, Horton’s 1.03 ERA is the best mark in baseball.

Nick Lodolo, Cincinnati Reds - Groin

Lodolo was carving up the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday, but was removed early with what the team is calling groin tightness.

Luis Garcia, Houston Astros - Arm

Garcia will undergo surgery that will cost him all of 2026. Tough blow for the Houston right-hander

Brandon Woodruff, Milwaukee Brewers - Lat

Woodruff is on the IL with a lat strain, and the hope is that he can pitch in the NLDS, but that’s far from a guarantee.

MLB Week 26 Injury Report Update: Hitters

Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays - Knee

Bichette is going to need to start progressing, and fast, to remove any doubt about his availability at the beginning of the postseason.

Kyle Tucker, Chicago Cubs - Calf

Tucker will serve as the team’s DH at some point during this series with the Cardinals, and barring any setbacks, will be ready to go for the Wild Card round.

Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies - Hamstring

Philly fans should be encouraged by this update on Turner. It seems like if the playoffs were this weekend, he could return, but the Phillies will play it safe and ensure he’s ready for October.

Samuel Basallo, Baltimore Orioles - Hand/Wrist

Basallo is day-to-day with a hand/wrist issue, but X-rays came back negative.

Jeremy Pena, Houston Astros - Oblique

Pena is dealing with some soreness in his left oblique. He’s day-to-day at this juncture.

Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers - Oblique

A left oblique strain sent Langford to the IL, and thus ended his 2025 season. He slashed .241/.344/.431 with 22 home runs and 22 stolen bases.
