Fantasy Baseball Injury Report This Week

On the other hand, the San Diego Padres are welcoming back Michael King into their starting rotation, while the Royals have to be pleased with Cole Ragans’ first rehab start. However, the Royals are also hoping that Bobby Witt can progress and not have to miss extended time due to back spasms. Other notable names in this week’s fantasy baseball injury report are Tyler Glasnow, Spencer Arrighetti, and Byron Buxton, among others.

MLB Injury Report: Starting Pitchers
Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals - Shoulder
Ragans completed 3 IP with seven strikeouts in his rehab start, topping out at 97.4 mph with his heater.
Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers - Back
Glasnow was scratched from his last start, but the tentative plan is to toe the rubber at some point in the early part of the week against the Rockies. Roster Resource has him tabbed as today’s (Monday’s) starter.
Michael King, San Diego Padres - Knee
It was reported that King’s next start would come with the big league club, and Roster Resource has him tabbed as the Tuesday starter against the Reds.
Spencer Arrighetti, Houston Astros - Elbow
While Houston won’t officially close the door on a [postseason] return for Arrighetti, there’s a very good chance he doesn’t even pitch then. His UCL is intact, which is great news for the long-term, but noticeable inflammation delays everything in the short-term.
MLB Injury Report: Relief Pitchers
Daniel Palencia, Chicago Cubs - Shoulder
Palencia is dealing with a tightness in his shoulder. Brad Keller and Andrew Kittredge would likely be the first two options to close out games if Palencia were to miss extended time.
MLB Injury Report: Hitters
Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals - Back
Witt has missed the last couple of games due to some back spasms, though he’s reportedly been feeling better. Consider him day to day still.
Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs - Knee
PCA suffered a knee contusion after fouling off a ball on Saturday. Consider him day to day.
Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies - Hamstring
Turner suffered a strained hamstring on Sunday. There’s some concern here, as a hammy issue cost Turner over a month last season.
Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers - Hand
Smith wasn’t expected to play over the weekend after taking a foul ball off his hand, so his absence over the last couple of games isn’t exactly a major surprise. Consider him day to day.
Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins - Knee
Buxton is day-to-day after getting hit by a pitch on Sunday.
Kyle Stowers, Miami Marlins - Oblique
Shortly after kicking off a rehab assignment, some fatigue popped up for Stowers, who has since had his progress halted. It doesn’t sound like anything major, but might set him back a couple of days.
Kyle Tucker, Chicago Cubs - Calf
Tightness in Tucker’s left calf has kept him out of action for nearly a week now. It seems like Tucker will also miss Monday’s game, but hopefully his return isn’t too long after that.
Samuel Basallo, Baltimore Orioles - Hand
Basallo took a foul ball off his right hand, and fortunately for Basallo and Baltimore, X-Rays came back negative. Consider him day to day.
