Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases
The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. The following backstops have the lowest Caught Stealing% with a minimum of 10 SB attempts against them.
- Mickey Gasper, Boston Red Sox – 0% CS (12 att.)
- Ivan Herrera, St. Louis Cardinals – 0% CS (20 att.)

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:
Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Saturday, July 18:
Favorite Bet:
Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds (+185)
We like getting better odds and we don’t typically target Coors Field for stolen bases, but the Reds have routinely struggled on the road this year, so perhaps manufacturing runs is their course of action today. Rockies righthander Tomoyuki Sugano has allowed nine stolen bases on the season and as you can see from the catcher section up above, Brett Sullivan, has struggled to throw out potential base-stealers. Just 12-percent on 26 attempts? De La Cruz is always a threat to strike out, but we’ll lean on the .341 wOBA against righties and expect him to be aggressive on the bases. You know he’s got the skills, so let’s go after it here.
Randy Arozarena, Seattle Mariners (+253)
While I expect right-hander Logan Webb to have a fine second half of the season, you can’t ignore the abuse he’s taken over his last two starts, allowing 16 hits and four walks over just 10 innings. I don’t see that being the norm, but he needs to get back on-track. While he’s working his way back, let’s take advantage of the 13 stolen bases he’s allowed this season and the shaky 22.2-percent caught-stealing rate the Giants catchers have posted. Tell me you miss Patrick Bailey without saying you miss Patrick Bailey. Arozarena is posting a .377 wOBA against righties this year and 15 of his 19 stolen bases have come against them. Let’s lock him in today.
