It’s Sunday, so you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at the interleague matchups for the upcoming week and determine how it will affect our fantasy lineups. What fantasy players stand to gain some value? You’ll find that and more here at Fantasy Alarm!

This week, we have a handful of games that are of the interleague variety! Unfortunately, one of which features the Angels heading to a National League stadium, so you know what that means…

Regardless, keep on reading to see who gains/loses some at-bats, as well as fantasy value for the week that lies ahead.

Tigers @ Pirates (9/6-9/8)

Everyone in Detroit is a winner because they get to face the Pittsburgh pitching staff for three games this week. Typically, Miguel Cabrera will play first base, shifting Jonathan Schoop to second base, and then Harold and Willy Castro find themselves on the outside looking in. The team’s past series in Cincinnati saw Harold Castro play short with Willy Castro on the bench for each of the first two games of the series. Expect more of the same in this three game set.

Winners: Miguel Cabrera

Losers: Willy Castro

Rangers @ Diamondbacks (9/7-9/8)

The Rangers have been rotating people in and out of the DH role, but since the calendar flipped to September, Adolis García and Yohel Pozo each have three starts as the team’s DH. Garcia has gotten plenty of starts in right field, so he will likely slide there for this two game set, leaving Pozo on the outside looking in, unless Texas gives him a start behind the dish.

Winners: Adolis García

Losers: Yohel Pozo and potentially DJ Peters

Angels @ Padres (9/7-9/8)

Noooooooooooooooo! Angels in a National League stadium means no Ohtani at the plate outside of a pinch-hitting appearance or if he’s starting one of the games. He’s not scheduled to pitch one of these games, so he’ll be relegated to pinch-hitting duties.

Winners: The San Diego Padres

Losers: Shohei Ohtani

Diamondbacks @ Mariners (9/10-9/12)

With two lefties on the bump for Seattle, Arizona will likely want to keep Carson Kelly in the lineup as much as possible, and likely Daulton Varsho. So, whomever doesn’t catch can serve as the DH, or if Kelly is catching, Varsho can play somewhere in the outfield to open up potential at-bats for Josh Rojas, another notable lefty killer.

Winners: Josh Rojas and Daulton Varsho

Losers: David Peralta (only one RHP for SEA)

Brewers @ Indians (9/10-9/12)

At the end of August, Milwaukee traveled to Minnesota, and Christian Yelich served as the DH once, while Wily Adames held the fort down for the other two games. Letting Adames DH would open up a spot for Luis Urías to get at-bats. Yelich likely serves as the designated hitter for one game, but the two games that Adames likely DH’s paves the path for Urias, and maybe even Jace Peterson.

Winners: Luis Urías and potentially Jace Peterson

Losers: None

Yankees @ Mets (9/10-9/12)

In the team’s most recent interleague contest, they ran out the big boy outfield of Joey Gallo, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in one of the games, and then Brett Gardner started one of the games in center field. The interesting thing will be to see if Anthony Rizzo gets a day off in favor of Luke Voit. Regardless, Voit won’t make more than one start in this series, barring injury to Rizzo, so he figures to be the biggest “loser” of fantasy value for this series.

Winners: None

Losers: Luke Voit
