10-Team Leagues

Jed Lowrie , OAK 2B, 3B (78% ownership), FAAB Bid - $13-14 - It seems as if some people gave up on Lowrie when he went into a rut at the dish, but he’s getting back to where he was earlier in the year. He’s riding a six-game hit streak with two homers and eight runs batted in over that span. After a .188 AVG in July, he’s hitting .293 in August. The current pace he’s on puts him at 25 home runs and 100 RBI by years end. That’s a top-five second baseman across the board.

Tyler Glasnow , TBR SP, RP (27% ownership), FAAB Bid - $11-12 - We’re getting into the own in all formats territory but we need Glasnow to be fully stretched out and prove to us it’s not a fluke before then. But boy has he been good. In his last three outings spanning 12 innings, he’s struck out 20 opponents and has allowed only three earned runs. He’s up to a 12.18 K/9 and is backing all of these numbers up with a 3.15 xFIP and 3.33 SIERA. It’s fun to see the one time elite prospect panning out with a simple change of scenery.

Jhoulys Chacin , MIL SP (53% ownership), FAAB Bid - $11 - Chacin has only gotten better as the year has progressed, most recently throwing a seven innings of shutout ball while striking out 10 against the Cubs. Chacin has won six of his last eight games and now has 12 wins on the year which puts him near the top of the National League. He should be owned in all formats going forward as long as he continues to rack up wins and a respectable amount of strikeouts as well.

12-Team Leagues

Anibal Sánchez , ATL SP, RP (58% ownership), FAAB Bid - $10-11 - Sanchez is rejuvenated this season and the numbers are saying it’s not a fluke. He has a 3.07 ERA and an 8.90 K/9 which if the season ended today, would be the third best strikeout rate of his 13 season career. He has been able to keep the ball in the yard this year which has been his downfall in past seasons. He posted a 1.66 HR/9 for three straight seasons leading into this one and now just has a 1.06 this season. As long as he keeps the ball in the yard, he should continue being very relevant in fantasy leagues.

Paul DeJong , STL SS (56% ownership), FAAB Bid - $8-10 - We’re finally seeing the power stroke on display as DeJong has homered four times over his last seven games. He’s also been contributing in multiple categories as he’s scored at least one run in nine of his last 10 games and has driven in nine more over the same span. DeJong is on pace to clear 20 home runs for the second straight season.

Jake Junis, KCR SP (17% ownership), FAAB Bid - $7-8 - Junis has been much better lately, specifically over his last two starts. He allowed one earned in back-to-back games while striking out eight in both. He has a very respectable 3.55 ERA over his last 30 games and now has a 22.1-percent K-rate on the year. As long as he continue his recent form, he’s absolutely viable in 12-team leagues.

15-Team Leagues

Devon Travis , TOR 2B (3% ownership), FAAB Bid - $4-6 - He’s not providing us with THAT much, but he’s been really solid since July 1st. Travis has hit .287 since that date with four homers, 13 runs and 19 runs batted in over 29 games. He’s been moved up towards the top of the lineup in recent days as well, so that provides us with a better opportunity for more production.

Brock Holt , BOS 2B, SS, 3B, OF (2% ownership), FAAB Bid - $5 - The do it all man for the Red Sox has been really good at the dish lately. He’s hit .364 over the past week with two homers and six runs batted in. It helps that he’s eligible at almost every position there is as well, so we have that going for us as well. The run producing opportunity will always be there with the way Boston always has runners on and in scoring position.

Freddy Galvis , SDP SS (5% ownership), FAAB Bid - $3-4 - In mixed leagues where you’re in need of middle infield help, look no further. Galvis has homered in three straight games and five times over his last nine games overall. He now has 10 home runs and six stolen bases on the year, so he has a real chance at 15 and 10 by seasons end. That’s very viable in NL-only formats and even 15 teamers as well.
