Welcome back, college football fans and DFS players! How’d you do with your Week 11 DFS CFB lineups? We had a very interesting and exciting slate of football last Saturday with big performances from some offenses and duds from others. It’s time now to look towards the Saturday main slate of games kicking off at 12 pm ET and later.

DraftKings has an 11-game main slate that includes all of the matchups from 12 ET to 4:30 ET. FanDuel, meanwhile, has an early-only slate with the eight noon games and then a larger 16-game main slate with matchups that stretch into the evening. For the purposes of this playbook, though, we will break down the top plays from all price ranges for the common matchups between DK and FD’s early main slates. Keep in mind, though, that roster construction on the main FD slate will be vastly different because of the inclusion of those night games.

Let’s take a quick look at the projected top-scoring offenses to target on this main slate, according to Bovada’s spreads.

Teams To Target (By Implied Point Totals):

  1. Clemson -- 47 Points vs. Wake Forest (59.5 Total)
  2. Alabama -- 42.25 Points vs. Mississippi State (63.5 Total)
  3. Oklahoma State -- 41.75 Points vs. Kansas (65.5 Total)
  4. Memphis -- 39.5 Points vs. Houston (69 Total)
  5. Washington State -- 37.5 Points vs. Stanford (63.5 Total)
  6. Iowa State -- 36.5 Points vs. Texas (66 Total)

Now, let’s dive into the specific players that are worth rostering in both cash games and tournament lineups for this Week 12 Saturday main slate!

QUARTERBACKS

Brock Purdy - Iowa State ($8,200 DK / $10,200 FD)

Although he’s seen a slight price increase from previous weeks, the matchup for Purdy and the Iowa State passing attack is very favorable in Week 12. The Texas defense is allowing 290 passing yards per game (the second-most on this slate) and we’ve seen quarterbacks tear up this questionable pass D all season long. Meanwhile, Purdy is coming off a game vs. Oklahoma where he threw for five touchdowns and added a rushing score. The Cyclones’ quarterback has proven he can put up big numbers like this against the shoddy Big 12 defenses, and this is the best matchup he’s seen all year. We can’t count on Purdy’s rushing but it’s encouraging to see him score seven times on the ground this season while adding 20 touchdowns through the air. Yes, the price tag seems high for Purdy, but his DFS floor is pretty safe in this matchup.

Trevor Lawrence - Clemson ($7,800 DK / $9,700 FD)

As Clemson’s offense gets into a groove lately, Trevor Lawrence is putting up some very consistent performances. He’s thrown at least three touchdowns in five straight games and has added three rushing scores during that span. We’ve also seen his DFS point production rise in each of the last four games as he topped out at 35 DK points last week. Now, Lawrence will face a Wake Forest defense that’s allowing 232 passing yards and nearly 400 total yards per game. Although Lawrence’s passing volume isn’t high in blowout wins lately, we shouldn’t be worried off because he’s been very efficient with those attempts and has an impressive touchdown-to-completion average at the moment. Clemson will continue to push the pedal and look to blow out their ACC foes every game moving forward. Lawrence will certainly headline the offense moving forward.

Max Duggan - TCU ($6,300 DK / $8,400 FD)

People may be scared off Duggan after he busted for just 11 DK points last week in a tough matchup vs. Baylor. However, we should go right back to the well with TCU’s dual-threat quarterback because his DFS floor remains pretty safe with his rushing upside. In a recent three-game stretch from Weeks 8-10, Duggan rushed for at least 72 yards and a touchdown on 13 or more carries each game. Even against a good Baylor defense last week, Duggan saw 14 carries and had 46 rushing yards. This rushing volume just isn’t something we normally see from a quarterback in this price range and it makes him a nice super flex option yet again. Plus, he gets a better matchup this time around against a Texas Tech defense that’s giving up 28 points and 457 total yards per game, including 295 through the air (the worst on the entire slate).

Carter Stanley - Kansas ($6,300 DK / $8,500 FD)

In the right matchups, Stanley has been the perfect super flex quarterback for our DFS lineups because he has the potential to smash value at this affordable salary. Stanley put up 40 and 37 DK points, respectively, against Oklahoma and Texas Tech in Weeks 8 and 9. This week, he has another favorable matchup vs. an Oklahoma State defense that’s giving up 263 passing yards per game and seems to always allow Big 12 opponents to hang around on the scoreboard. We should feel pretty safe in rolling out Stanley as our second quarterback as he’s thrown for at least three touchdowns in five of the last seven games.

Also Consider:

  • Justin Fields - Ohio State ($10,800 FD Only)
  • Charlie Brewer - Baylor ($9,900 FD Only)
  • Brady White - Memphis ($7,700 DK Only)
  • Davis Mills - Stanford ($4,800 DK Only)

RUNNING BACKS

Chuba Hubbard - Oklahoma State ($8,800 DK / $10,600 FD)

Some weeks we may force Hubbard into our lineups despite him being in a tough matchup because of his high volume and consistent production. However, this could be a smash spot for him even at this expensive price tag. Hubbard will face a Kansas defense that’s allowing 235 rushing yards per game, the most on the whole slate, and the Oklahoma State bell-cow back could easily eclipse that number considering what he’s done already this season. Hubbard has over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown in eight of nine games this year, and he’s usually providing a lot more than that, with at least 30 DK points in seven of those outings. This is the easiest matchup on paper that Hubbard’s faced so far and he’s definitely worth paying up for in all formats on both sites.

Travis Etienne - Clemson ($8,100 DK / $9,900 FD)

The Clemson offense has fully awoken lately and it’s resulted in some monster DFS performances from their lead running back. Etienne has put up at least 35 DK points in each of the last four games and he’s averaging 187 total yards and two touchdowns per game during that span. Now, he faces a Wake Forest defense that’s allowing 164 rushing yards per game. This is lining up as a fifth straight outing where Etienne goes for at least 100 yards and two scores yet again, even if he gets subbed out early in the blowout win.

Breece Hall - Iowa State ($6,800 DK / $8,700 FD)

Even though he’s facing a tougher matchup against Texas’ rush defense, there’s no denying how good Hall has been with volume we love for our DFS running backs. Since he took over Iowa State’s lead back duties four games ago, Hall has gotten 22 or more touches and he’s racked up 100+ total yards in each game. His involvement in the Cyclones’ passing attack is also very encouraging as he has 13 catches for 148 receiving yards in the past three games. The way Hall has produced lately, averaging 32.6 DK points over the last four, he should probably be priced way higher than this and he remains a nice value running back for us this week.

Najee Harris - Alabama ($6,400 DK / $9,400 FD)

As Alabama gears up for a potential playoff run, they have started to lean on their lead back more and more. That increase in volume and production makes him a very solid play this week. Harris has gotten at least 20 touches, 130 total yards and multiple touchdowns in three of the past four games, including his 190 total yards and two scores last week vs. LSU. FanDuel has appropriately priced Harris up this weekend, but he’s still a very nice value on DraftKings. Plus, Harris could see more guaranteed volume on Saturday with Tua Tagovailoa still battling an ankle injury. This will likely have the Alabama offense possibly leaning on the run even more. It’s also a favorable matchup for Harris as the Mississippi State defense is allowing 162 rushing yards per game and has given up some big games to opposing running backs the past two weeks.

Ta’Zhawn Henry - Texas Tech ($4,900 DK / $6,600 FD)

Henry was a value for us last week, and his price this weekend makes him a nice cheap option again at running back. With SaRoderick Thompson battling an ankle injury and Armond Shyne out for the year, Henry stepped in to the lead back duties last game and responded with 26 touches and two touchdowns. Thompson is still dealing with that bad ankle, and we should see Henry get a large volume yet again in Texas Tech’s backfield. Even though TCU’s rush defense is solid, we can’t ignore the potential volume for Henry at such a value price tag, especially in a game with one of the higher totals on the slate.

Also Consider:

  • Jonathan Taylor - Wisconsin ($10,400 FD Only)
  • Max Borghi - Washington State ($7,900 DK Only)
  • Cameron Scarlett - Stanford ($5,800 DK Only)
  • Kyle Porter - Houston ($5,700 DK Only)
  • Sewo Olonilua - TCU ($5,200 DK / $7,800 FD)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Wake Forest WR’s

The biggest injury situation on this slate comes from the Wake Forest receiving corps. With Sage Surratt now out for the year and Scotty Washington very doubtful for this week, there will be some nice value among the Demon Deacons’ pass-catchers this Saturday. The only question is who will step up to be the best play for our DFS lineups. Kendall Hinton ($5,800 DK / $7,800 FD) should see a ton of targets from the slot and could end up being quarterback Jamie Newman’s safety valve over the middle in shorter routes. However, there’s a legit possibility that Clemson’s defense looks to shut down Hinton and force the Wake Forest offense to beat them in other ways.

If that’s the case, we can get some nice value in either Steven Claude ($3,600 DK / $5,500 FD), Waydale Jones ($3,000 DK / $5,200 FD) or Jack Freudenthal ($4,300 DK / $6,500 FD). Claude and Jones were listed as starters on Wake’s depth chart for this game and they should see the first crack at playing time with a significant increase in targets than usual. Freudenthal is the tight end in this offense and he could also be used in check-down situations for Newman with higher upside to score a touchdown with his red zone usage. One of these cheaper receivers could be the key to the slate, though, because any one of them could easily 4x value and open up the rest of your lineup to fit in more expensive players.

Devin Duvernay - Texas ($6,800 DK / $9,200 FD)

There aren’t many slam-dunk wide receivers in the expensive salary range, but Duvernay may have the highest DFS floor of any of them, and that floor is actually pretty high. Texas’ top wideout has at least six catches in every game this year and he has eight or more receptions in seven of nine contests, including four straight. Duvernay emerged as quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s top receiving target when Collin Johnson went down with an injury, but he’s still producing impressive numbers with Johnson back. However, Johnson is dealing with a hamstring injury and could potentially sit this weekend out. This would raise Duvernay’s floor and ceiling even more. When Johnson was out earlier, Duvernay put up a slate-breaking performance of 12 catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns, something he could easily do once again if he has an even larger share of Ehlinger’s passing targets.

Shane Robinson Jr. - Kansas ($5,400 DK / $8,400 FD)

If you’re looking to use Carter Stanley as your super flex quarterback, pairing him with Shane Robinson could be the optimal way to go. Even if you’re not, though, Kansas’ breakout wide receiver has been very productive lately and will give you exposure to one of the offenses in a high-scoring Big 12 matchup. Robinson has emerged as Stanley’s favorite target lately, especially in the red zone, as he recently totaled 18 catches for 384 yards and six touchdowns in a three-game span. That was before a touch matchup last week against Kansas State’s defense - yet Robinson still had four receptions for 62 yards. Robinson and the Kansas passing attack is back to facing an easier matchup this Saturday, though, as Oklahoma State’s defense is allowing 263 passing yards per game and seems to always be involved in back-and-forth, high-scoring games in this Big 12 conference.

Charlie Kolar - Iowa State ($5,300 DK / $7,700 FD)

If we love Brock Purdy on this slate, we need to try to pair him with one of his receivers, and Kolar is the safest option among them. When Purdy threw five touchdowns last game, he did so to five different receivers with Kolar catching one of them. Still, Kolar is the top red zone target for Purdy lately as the tight end and bigger body in the offense. He now has six touchdowns through nine games and has at least three catches in seven contests. Kolar has also scored in three straight games and has racked up 13 catches for 196 yards during this span. The Iowa State passing game should have a field day against Texas’ porous pass defense and Kolar is the best cash game play to pair with Purdy.

Dillon Stoner - Oklahoma State ($5,000 DK / $7,600 FD)

With Tylan Wallace out for the year, Stoner stepped into Oklahoma State’s top receiver spot last week and he responded with two touchdowns and 93 receiving yards in his first game in the newfound role. Oddly enough, though, his price remains a nice bargain on both sites and it makes him a solid value wide receiver again this week. Kansas’ defense is allowing 460 total yards per game (225 through the air) and opposing offenses have been able to put up a ton of points and yardage against them all season. Yes, Chuba Hubbard will see a ton of volume and production in this run-heavy offense, but there should be enough receiving opportunities for Stoner to return value here.
