This is the final week of the regular season for many fantasy leagues and rosters have been thrown into chaos thanks to multiple injuries to key players.  Now is the time when your diligent management of the waiver wire will lead you to victory as GMs will have to call audibles with many starting positions in lineups this week.  So without further ado, here is the next edition of the fantasy football walking wounded.

Sammy Watkins (WR-BUF)

Watkins is listed as questionable for this week’s game against the Raiders but he is expected to play despite still having a broken bone in his foot.  He will certainly be less than 100% if he takes the field but he is still a viable fantasy option in what will be a big game for both teams on Sunday.  Don’t expect him to play most snaps as he will be limited due to his extended absence and lingering injury.

Mark Ingram (RB-NO)

Ingram is coming off a huge game last week but missed a few days of practice due to a toe injury.  He did return to practice on Friday and will likely be able to play in Week 13.  The Saints have been playing extremely well lately and Ingram has been a big part of it making him a must-start in all leagues.  Monitor his situation over the weekend because he could be limited in snaps and carries due to the toe injury even if he does suit up.

Brandon Marshall (WR-NYJ)

Marshall is dealing with both a knee and foot injury which has prevented him from practicing all week.  The veteran wide receiver should still be fine to play on Monday night against Indianapolis even if he does not practice at all.  Marshall has been a victim of the Jets horrendous offense this season amassing only 49 receptions for 668 yards and just three touchdowns.  He is still a viable WR2 option this week going up against a suspect Colts defense in a primetime matchup.

Jordan Reed (TE-WAS)

Reed is the second most talented and frequently injured tight end in this report.  He has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against Arizona which comes as no surprise after he separated his shoulder last week.  Vernon Davis will play in his place and could be a sneaky fantasy option in a Redskins offense that has played extraordinarily well.

Jimmy Graham (TE-SEA)

Graham has been dealing with a knee injury but he has returned to practice in a full capacity and will play this week against Carolina.  With Rob Gronkowski and Jordan Reed out this week, Graham becomes one of the best tight end options even though he only has 51 receptions and four touchdowns this year.

Michael Crabtree (WR-OAK)

The Raiders have been one of the biggest stories in the NFL this year as they lead the AFC West with a 9-2 record.  One of primary reasons has been the rise to stardom of Derek Carr who has an impressive array of offensive weapons at his disposal.  Michael Crabtree is one of those weapons with his 60 receptions for 711 yards and six touchdowns.  He has been limited in practice all week with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable for this week’s game against Buffalo.  It is expected that he will play on Sunday which makes him a solid fantasy option

Ryan Mathews (RB-PHI)

Mathews has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bengals due to a knee injury.  In his place, Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles will likely share time again for the Eagles.  Neither of them are great fantasy options unless you use them as a Flex in deeper leagues.

Jordan Matthews (WR-PHI)

Matthews is heading in the wrong direction after practicing in a limited capacity on Thursday but then missing practice on Friday.  It will be a game-time decision whether he plays on Sunday against Cincinnati which makes him a very risky fantasy option.  There is not much upside to him even if he plays because an ankle injury will prevent him from being 100%.

Rob Gronkowski (TE-NE)

This is hopefully the last time I have to write about Gronk on the injury report this season.  He is undergoing back surgery for a third time and is most likely out for the year.  However, the Patriots have not completely written him off for the playoffs as they were not definitive in the length of time he would be out.  Let’s be real though…he is having back surgery and it’s the beginning of December.  You can drop him in all redraft leagues and maybe now you will learn your lesson before drafting a tight end in the first round next year.

A.J. Green (WR-CIN)

Green is hopeful to play again this season but it won’t be this week for sure.  He is still recovering from a hamstring injury and it looks like at best he could return for one of the last couple games of the year.  The Bengals playoff hopes are all but gone so they have no reason to rush their star receiver back sooner than necessary.  He likely won’t be relevant for the fantasy playoffs so only hold onto him if you have a plethora of bench slots on your roster.
