It was another one of those weeks where fantasy players had numerous devastating injuries which will undoubtedly affect the outcome of many leagues’ playoffs which start within the next couple weeks.  Running backs have dropped like flies all year, and this week we can add several more to that list.  So without further ado, here is the next edition of the fantasy football walking wounded.

Marshawn Lynch (RB – SEA)

Lynch missed this past week’s game against the 49ers and the belief is that he is dealing with a sports hernia.  We will know more after Monday when Lynch meets with a specialist.  If he does have a hernia, it will likely require surgery and will require him to miss the rest of the regular season.  Thomas Rawls has filled in admirably for Lynch this year and would become a must-start as he will see regular playing time in Lynch’s extended absence.

Justin Forsett (RB – BAL)

The devastating news for running backs continued as Justin Forsett broke both bones in his forearm and will miss the remainder of the season.  Javorius Allen came in to replace Forsett and will likely get a majority of snaps the rest of the year.  Forsett can be dropped in all leagues.

Devonta Freeman (RB – ATL)

Freeman has been one of the most productive running backs all season but was knocked out of Sunday’s game against the Colts with a concussion.  He will go through the concussion protocol this week which leaves his status uncertain for Week 12.  He is a must-start but if he cannot play then Tevin Coleman would be a suitable replacement.

Joe Flacco (QB – BAL)

Flacco has been one of the most consistent and durable quarterbacks over the last several seasons.  However, he suffered a torn ACL at the end of the Ravens’ game against St. Louis and will require season-ending surgery.  Matt Schaub will now be Baltimore’s quarterback as he takes over an offense that will also be without Justin Forsett and Steve Smith.  Flacco’s status for the beginning of 2016 is questionable given the severity of the injury.

Alfred Morris (RB – WAS)

Morris was taken out of the Redskins' blowout loss to Carolina after only two carriers when he aggravated a rib injury he suffered the week before.  He did not return but that isn’t surprising because the Panthers were blowing Washington out and there would not have been a reason to put him back in the game.  Morris should have a good matchup next week against the Giants if he can play, so monitor his status throughout the week.

Darrelle Revis (CB – NYJ)

Revis had an uncharacteristically difficult game against the Texans as DeAndre Hopkins outplayed him.  Adding injury to insult, Revis also suffered a concussion in the second half and was taken out of the game.  His status for next week against Miami is questionable at this point, so monitor his status throughout the week.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins (TE – TB)

Most people will believe it when they see it, but Week 12 is expected to bring the return of Seferian-Jenkins.  He has missed the past two months with a shoulder injury after having a huge game in Week 2.  Tampa Bay’s offense has been playing extremely well so adding Seferian-Jenkings back into the mix gives them a potent array of weapons, all of which are viable fantasy starters.

Colin Kaepernick (QB – SF)

The writing was on the wall for Kaepernick to be done for the season once he was benched for Blaine Gabbert.  The 49ers officially put him on IR thus ending his season and quite possibly his tenure in San Francisco.  It has been a long time since Kaepernick was relevant in fantasy, but this is the final nail in the coffin which should lead you to drop him from your roster if you have not done so already.
