In a sea of “classic” matchups this week, like the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions or Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles, we have this odd one. The Denver Broncos vs. the Arizona Cardinals. These two teams have not squared off since 2022. They are very different teams now from them, with completely different coaching staffs and quarterbacks. And both are having fairly strange seasons.

If you simply looked at what the media was saying about the Denver Broncos, you would think the team is terrible. Heck, just consider what the coach has been saying. But they are actually 4-2, which would lead quite a few divisions in this league. That’s largely thanks to their great defense, as the offense has had its issues.

The Arizona Cardinals are having a bit of a typical season for what Michael Bidwill puts together over there. They have a lot of interesting pieces, but they don’t quite fit together. So much so that they traded away former fourth overall pick Marvin Harrison to the Houston Texans. We will find out eventually whether the issue was the player or the organization, but for now, they move on with guys like Trey McBride and Michael Wilson. They will be without Jeremiyah Love, however, as he has already been ruled out for this week.

🏅 Broncos vs. Cardinals Expert Pick: Denver Broncos -4.5 (-110 on DraftKings)

These are the bets we love making. Because the Denver Broncos are the better organization than the Arizona Cardinals from top to bottom. They have better ownership. They have better coaches. Their quarterback is better. Their defense is better. Their offensive line is better. Obviously Trey McBride and Michael Wilson are good players, but does that really move the needle? There’s no Jeremiyah Love this week either.

The Broncos have obviously had their issues with Bo Nix’s oddly low average depth of target and the change of play-callers midseason. But the Broncos should handle the Arizona Cardinals easily this week. Yes, the Cardinals beat the Los Angeles Rams. But that was a division game where anything can happen. And the Cardinals didn’t even score a touchdown - it was about as weird a game script as you can get. The Broncos leave this game with a 5-2 record, and they do it without much trouble.

🏉 Broncos vs. Cardinals Injury Report & Latest News

The Denver Broncos come in at 4-2 and arrive with a significant rest advantage after playing on Thursday last week. Despite the winning record, Bo Nix has struggled as a passer. His 5.6 yards per attempt is among the lowest in the league. The big question in terms of injuries lands with cornerback Patrick Surtain, arguably the best in the business. He missed last week and has been questionable, so he headlines their injury questions.

The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a surprising 18-16 win over the Rams in Week 6 - a game they won without scoring an offensive touchdown, as we mentioned. Jacoby Brissett has been serviceable (1,110 yards, 9 TDs, 5 INTs), but he can throw games at any given moment, as we have seen. The injury report is notable: Budda Baker, Jeremiyah Love, Walter Nolen, Garrett Williams, Jedrick Wills, and Andrew Wingard all did not practice Wednesday, while Max Melton was limited. Isaac Seumalo and Josh Sweat were listed for rest. Arizona also has the worst pass defense in the league, allowing 9.1 yards per attempt, which could be a concern against a Denver unit that is looking to finally get the passing game going.
