With the Summer Split closing, teams are trying to ensure they are clicking on all cylinders. The LPL matches have two teams who are secured in their playoff spots going up against two teams who are firmly out of the playoff hunt. The LCK has four teams who all have a chance to make it to playoffs with Gen.G hot on the heels of NS RedForce for the first place spot. With both regions having four spots available for the World Championship, getting into playoffs are key for all of the teams in these leagues.

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Elk (WE: $12,000) This pick may seem interesting at first when you see names like Viper and Scout on the board. I have two reasons for this pick and the first is that EDG is currently riding a 2 game losing streak. While I don’t think the sky is falling for this organization, I do think you should take a little bit of pause before picking up players with that high of a price tag and they arguably don’t put out the highest kill numbers as individuals.  My second thought is that Elk and WE are facing RW who rank at the top of the league in team deaths and their support (QuiQui) have the second most deaths in the LPL with 118 or almost 4 per game.   

Value Pick: Ruler (GEN: $11,400)

Top Lane

Favorite: Breathe (WE: $7,200) There are a lot of big names in the top lane for this slate so don’t feel pressured to drop this cash on Breathe. He is averaging over 3 kills per game and has a 3.8 KDA through 30 games in the LPL. He is facing a team in Rogue Warriors who have juggled starting time between Zdz and 8917 which is never a good sign. Team WE should really go 2-0 in this matchup and Breathe will have some high participation numbers during it.   

Value Pick: Rich (NS: $6,400) 

Jungle

Favorite: JieJie (EDG: $7,400) NOTE: There are multiple EDG junglers so only pick one of the three is you can ensure you can swap them out if they are starting Clearlove before game one. As of 4:00 pm CST, JieJie is slotted as the starter. I think that is the best selection for the EDG squad because he is one of the highest performing LPL players in the Summer Split. He has a 7.5 KDA and has 92 kills over 25 games (3.68 per game) and 209 assists (8.36 per game). All value you for in your lineup as long as he gets his games in.   

Value Pick: Peanut (NS: $7,000) 

Mid Lane

Favorite: Gori (NS: $7,200) The lack of value for NS on DraftKings seems somewhat crazy to me. I know there is less of a margin of odds between NS and LSB, the performances from the NS players is something to be noted. Gori has the third highest kill number behind Dove and Chovy is doing it while limiting his deaths. NS is looking like a dangerous team in the LCK (going 2-0 against DWG this split) and I feel pretty comfortable on this pick. 

Value Pick: Dove (KT: $6,800)   

ADC

Favorite: Viper (EDG: $8,200) While still a high price, I feel more comfortable with Viper in the ADC role versus the Captain role. Within the framework of EDG, Viper is the glue but not usually the guy with the massive kill count game in and game out. This means him having high assist games feel better in the ADC role. V5’s ADC (Kelper) has had flashes of skill but also has shown that you can bait him into really bad positioning. Viper and EDG should bounce back big against V5 and there should be good scorelines in the matchup.  

Value Pick: 5kid (KT: $6,800) 

Support

Favorite: Life (GEN: $5,000) Double up here. Grabbing Ruler and his support will allow you to potentially double dip on those points. KT has put in a new ADC who performed well into the HLE botlane, but most ADCs perform well into the HLE botlane. I think 5kid and Zzus take a step back in this matchup and the LCK assist leader in Life (288) should see a large payoff. 

Value Pick: Effort (LSB: $4,600) 

Team

Favorite: EDward Gaming ($5,400) This is the team pick of the day because EDG has to pull off a sound win. They are 0-2 in their last two matches against top of the table teams and they are facing the worst team in the LPL in V5. V5 have lost their last 13 series and there is an ocean separating the skill of EDG and V5. If EDG don’t 2-0 this team, it is time to smash the panic button.
