LPL/LCK Wednesday
(-275) T1 v KT Rolster (+200)
(+150) Bilibili Gaming v Team WE (-190)
(+375) Fredit BRION v GenG (-600)
(-105) Royal Never Give Up v Top Esports (-125)
Wednesday features the LCK starting up again with a fledgling T1 playing against a KT with strong individual pieces, but seem incapable of fitting them together. Team WE looks for a quick win against a mid table BLG, first place GenG looks to stomp out Fredit BRION, a team that has accomplished a 3-3 standing from last place last split, and two top teams that find themselves underwhelming this season in RNG vs TES.
Captain
Ruler ($11,400)
The king has returned. Ruler has had a long time coming back to being the top dog of the LCK, while he represented his region at worlds time after time, and his performance alongside his spot on the roster was never questioned since 2017, we can finally say with a degree of certainty that he is “the best” ADC in the LCK, and maybe even the world. His opponents in Hena and Delight are weak, and he’s sure to run a show against BRION. The value pick for captain is the next player coming up, top laner Rascal, who has a solid match-up against Hoya.
Alternatives to consider: Rascal ($9,900)
Top Lane
Rascal ($6,600)
Despite looking underwhelming for his first few splits, Rascal has stepped it up majorly this season. He was great in spring, but he has been demolishing top laner after top laner in summer. Only Rich and Summit have presented a challenge to the GenG top laner so far, and both of which have been considered- at least at one point or another- very good top laners by their own right. Mind you, Rascal conquered both, these were only the teams that presented a notable challenge to Rascal. I don’t recommend Breathe, although he’s the second-best option on Wednesday.
Alternatives to consider: Breathe ($6,800)
Jungle
Beishang ($7,200)
Weiwei has been a good jungler in the past, but Beishang has been a consistently strong player on WE for a very long time now. He does great into the lower tier junglers, where his aggression can run them into the dirt. Unlike a jungler like XUN, however, he can also hold his own against the stronger junglers in the league, making him a versatile and adaptive option. The other choice is Clid, a solid choice, but Umti has had a few surprises this season, so he may not be the most reliable option relative to Beishang.
Alternatives to consider: Clid ($7,000)
Mid Lane
Mole ($7,200)
Mole is a consistently solid mid laner, he performs well against all sorts of opponents on the LPL and is typically not a liability to his team. However, there are plenty of good mid laners on Wednesday; the biggest advantage Mole has, in my opinion, is his price relative to his match-up. Dove, Faker, Cryin, Bdd, Knight, and even Lava have each looked solid. I’d consider the weakest point to be Zeka, who is Mole’s opponent on Wednesday. BLG are quintessentially a bottom-lane-focused team, so picking up a strong mid laner against their weak point is a solid option. Otherwise, I’ll take Cryin versus Knight- I expect RNG to come back with a vengeance, especially since TES has looked shaky lately.
Alternatives to consider: Cryin ($7,000)
ADC
Elk ($7,800)
Out of most of the LPL ADCs, I will hold firm: Elk has one of the highest mechanical ceilings out of all of them. He can easily contend with the best as long as he can navigate his laning phase well. Fortunately, the opponent in Aiming, despite being a strong ADC, isn’t well known for having an extremely punishing laning phase. Aiming and Elk both excel in teamfights, and I rely on Elk’s better team to lend him a better position in said teamfights. Ruler is a great option, and you’ll definitely want him on your team if he isn’t your captain already.
Alternatives to consider: Ruler ($7,600)
Support
Life ($5,000)
Life is “safe”, in many senses of the word. He keeps low deaths, he always performs well- not exceptionally, mind you, but on Wednesday, he’s a cheap option, has a great match-up, and always puts in work on game day. Truthfully, your other options are Keria and Missing- good players, but not worth their cost in my opinion. Keep Life, unless you are cashing out on GenG players in other positions.
Alternatives to consider: Missing ($5,200)
Team
Royal Never Give Up ($4,800)
For much of this season, RNG hasn’t appeared too aggressive after their victory at MSI. However, this slow start is deceptive, in my opinion. RNG already have proved that they can be the best team in the world, and a bit of early discomfort isn’t indicative of anything as the season progresses. TES are the perfect opportunity for RNG to strike back at an underperforming top tier team to regain their form. For a more premium and stable option, I’d grab team WE here for a sure bet.
Alternatives to consider: Team WE ($5,400)
Stacks
Mole & Elk
The two carries of WE are a great option for Wednesday. WE is the bar for success in the LPL, and their aggressive gameplay has delivered them big point wins against teams like Suning, ThunderTalk, and V5. BLG are unlikely to stand much of a contest, especially with an average mid laner like Zeka.
Rascal & Ruler
The top and ADC for GenG provide insane mileage out of your team: Rascal has been the #1 top laner to watch for a while on the LCK, and while Hoya is improving, Rascal looks leagues above him. Ruler has been on top for a while, but he finally has reclaimed his throne as number 1 this season. Hoya and Hena don’t look very strong, Rascal and Ruler look amazing.
Keria & Cuzz
How lucky do you favor yourself? While I expect T1 to beat KT, it will be hard to tell where it comes from. However, the two players that have stood tall despite the adversity have been support Keria and jungler Cuzz; T1’s bottom lane has been remarkably strong in spite of their 3-3 record, and jungler Cuzz has been solid too; KT’s bottom lane is also strong though, but Blank has been hit or miss this season so far.
Top Picks: Ruler, Rascal, Beishang
The GenG players come as no surprise; Rascal and Ruler are #1 in their respective positions with little argument otherwise. Beishang is a strong jungler who controls the map well, he’s constantly looking for angles to play aggressively and create chaos for WE’s favor. These three are likely to pick up big points on Wednesday.
Top Value: Wei, Mole, Life
On the other hand, Beishang’s right hand in Mole is seriously undervalued- a whole $600 under the #1 priced mid on Wednesday. Likewise with Life, despite Life having a low death count combined with an excellent match-up. Wei (NOT to be confused with Weiwei- BLG’s jungler) is a solid jungler too, and stood tall on the MSI stage against Canyon- Karsa has been a bit underwhelming this season, so it could be a role that’s targetable.
