On Tuesday, a clear cut match is played against the (surprisingly) current first place team: LNG Esports and ThunderTalk, a squad of middling to below average younger LPL players. Meanwhile, Rare Atom and Top Esports contend in a close match.
 

Captain

Light ($11,400)

Bit of a spoiler, but, I have Rare Atom over Top on Tuesday. While I think TES can still be decent, Jackeylove needs to regain some of his form, Qingtian needs more time to integrate into the team, and Knight needs to pick it up. Light is a fantastic ADC versus a very weak bottom lane in SamD and Patch from ThunderTalk and he’s worth his high price, supplemented with undervalued Rare Atom players.

Alternatives to consider: Tarzan ($10,800)

Top Lane

Ale ($6,400)

The most insanely surprising player of summer. Ale had latent potential early in his career on OMG where he started his career, and subsequently entered a period of mediocrity for a good amount of time. This split on LNG, he’s absolutely cracked out of his mind though, he smashed RNG into the ground and looks to be on top of the world. I am not super high on Qingtian yet, but he does have potential; regardless, I wouldn’t recommend Cube, but he is the second option I would imagine.

Alternatives to consider: Cube ($5,800)

Jungle

Tarzan ($7,200)

The crowning jewel of LNG: Tarzan. The jungler was one of the best players on Griffin and he’s miraculously carried over that success onto LNG, a team formerly destitute and routinely last place. Tarzan looks like the best jungler in the league- if not the world at this point. For a different option (if Tarzan is your captain; I’d say you absolutely need Tarzan), I’d grab Leyan.

Mid Lane

Fofo ($6,800)

In my opinion, Fofo has been one of the most impressive mid laners this split; and last split too. He’s great at laning, solid at teamfighting, and an all around strong mid laner that can contend with some of the best LPL has to offer; Knight has been the top dog before, but he hasn’t looked super strong for a while now; I’d say your secondary option is Icon. He’s a good mid laner for the current meta and works well with Tarzaned.

Alternatives to consider: Icon ($7,400)

ADC

iBoy ($7,000)

I’d say Light is definitely someone you want on your roster; and I’d recommend him on your roster 100%, iBoy is a solid secondary option if you have Light as your captain; iBoy has been a prodigy since his time on IG (I bet they’re really missing him now), and he’s still stood strong on Rare Atom, and formerly Vici. Light is the best option, and I’d take iBoy for a #2.

Alternatives to consider: Light ($7,600)

Support

Iwandy ($6,000)

Assist god Iwandy. This guy has absolutely insane statistics, his deaths are nearly nonexistent and he picks up so much KP across his pool, his enchanters are impeccable and his opponent in Patch is just an inferior version of himself. SamD isn’t great either; Light is a fantastic pairing for Iwandy, and they’re likely to sweep TT aside. Hang is a great support too alongside iBoy, TES’ bottom lane hasn’t looked insane lately either, but their potential to be decent once more makes me prefer Iwandy.

Alternatives to consider: Hang ($5,000)

Team

Rare Atom ($4,600)

The underdog, kind of? Rare Atom has shown so much promise this split, whereas TES dropped a match to a team that Rare Atom already beat. Picking Rare Atom for team allows you to maximize the slots you get to spend on LNG players too, who will likely win big, decisively.

Alternatives to consider: LNG Esports ($5,200)

Stacks

Tarzan & Light

Legendary carries on LNG. Light is a KDA monster and pumps out points like no other, whereas Tarzan is extremely calculated: low gank frequency with high success rate. Great pairing for LNG.

iBoy & Fofo

The ADC and mid lane of RA are worth looking at if you have Light as captain. iBoy is a mechanical monster with a better support than Jackeylove in Hang versus Zhou. Fofo is easily better than Knight if Knight is having his bad days (which he’s been having frequently).

Light & Iwandy

The other LNG pairing I’d recommend. Iwandy’s stats are insane, and are absolutely worth having on your team. He rarely dies and picks up insane amounts of points by moving around the map alongside solid teamfighting. Him and Light form a nice lane all together.

Top Picks: Light, Fofo, Ale

LNG players are more valuable innately relative to RA’s, with one exception: I actually prefer Fofo compared to Icon, who I find to be a bit of a weakness for LNG. Ale is a remarkably surprising star on LNG, and Light has been shaping up fantastically as an ADC since his re-entry into the LPL.

Top Value: Hang, iBoy, Fofo

I think Rare Atom will beat TES, there’s not much else there; these are the players I expect to outperform their opponents the most. Zhou hasn’t shown much that’s astounded me, Knight has been slumping for a while, and Jackeylove isn’t in great form either. Rare Atom have some seriously talented players, and I think they’ll take the win over TES.
