Fantasy Value Breakdown
Captain
Favorite: Light (LNG: $12,000) What sticks out to me about Light is how consistent he has been. He has over a 10 KDA in 5 games played. LNG went 2-0 in week 1 and only dropped one game overall. They are a little slower and more methodical, but they limit mistakes. Because of the point multiplier for the captain role, the negative points from deaths can add up if there are too many. I also really like the matchup for LNG into a wildly underperforming and lackluster roster from IG. This is my most confident 2-0 of Wednesday.
Value Pick: Karis (HLE: $10,200)
Top
Favorite: Ale (LNG: $7,200) Ale is who I look to at this point as being one of the most dominant carry top laners in the world. He is all hot or all cold when it comes to his production (Averaging 2 kills and 3 assists per game) by dropping 6 kills one game and 0 the next. This is a high risk high reward pick but with his matchup into neny from IG (who is one of the most passive laners in the league), I think the possibility for upside is too tempting.
Value Pick: Hoya (DWG: $6,400)
Jungle
Favorite: Xiaopeng (TES: $7,200) I love putting in overly aggressive junglers. High kill numbers (16 in 3 games) and high assist numbers too (26 in 3 games). There is a risk with this pick up because TES has split time between Xiaopeng and Tian but I favor the higher production of Xiaopeng and the agency he played with. Fading this pick wouldn’t be wrong, but a lot of payoff if they go with him for the series.
Value Pick: Canyon (DWG: $6,800)
Mid
Favorite: ShowMaker (DWG: $7,600) This actually will be a difficult match for DWG as they play Nongshim. NS is 1-1 on the season but they have not played the hardest competition while they face a DWG squad who appears to have not missed a beat from 2021. NS has the bot lane from the 2021 DWG squad (Ghost) and they lost the ADC to that same squad (deokdam). This may be one of the most talented rosters ShowMaker has ever played on and while which should take a lot of the focus off of him increasing his overall production.
Value Pick: Aria (KT: $7,200)
ADC
Favorite: JackeyLove (TES: $7,800) JackeyLove has been relatively middle of the pack this year in terms of production but that doesn’t match his actual skill compared to the ceilings of the other ADCs. He has been pretty stable so far but we have not seen a truly explosive game from him yet. He has 28 kills (average over 5 per game) and 34 assists (almost 7 per game) which is a great pace to be at. Put JL in your ADC role because he is death prone and his flashy style can sometimes cause for a higher death count, but he will take over entire games on his own.
Value Pick: Ghost (NS: $6,800)
Support
Favorite: LvMao (LNG: $5,600) Keep the support pick simple. I wouldn’t worry about going cheaper for this position and lacking on output. I chose LvMao because he is on the heaviest favorite with one of the highest producing ADCs (Light). He is under my $6k dollar benchmark which is important because it means you can invest that money across the entire lineup.
Value Pick: Kellin (DWG: $5,200)
Team
Favorite: LNG Esports ($5,600) I think later in 2022, Team WE may be a tougher matchup for LNG but right now, they are just so incredibly disjointed. LNG has some serious talent and while you could find your groove in a tough match, it is so much more difficult to do so. Team WE has struggled with securing objectives (33% Baron control rate and 40% dragon control rate) and their view of how to play late game team fights are just not up to snuff right now.
Value Pick: Hanwha Life Eports ($4,600)
