(+265) LGD Gaming v JD Gaming (-385)

(+800) Ultra Prime v EDward Gaming (-1800)

On Monday morning, we saw two very chalk matchups, and Tuesday looks to be more of the same, even if it doesn’t look that was. In the case of the reigning World Champions EDG, this should not be a close match with UP. UP Has some players, but they have come out of the gates slowly and have faced some big dogs in week 1. LGD and JDG are both 0-2 teams but JDG has looked far more competitive in their first matches (especially against defending MSI champions Royal Never Give Up) and my suspicion is that the miscues won’t be solved by Tuesday morning. So let’s look over the players available and who we can expect to lead the slate in points! Let’s dive in!

Game #1: LGD Gaming v JD Gaming

Cann’s Pick: JD Gaming (2-1)

Game #2: Ultra Prime v EDward Gaming

Cann’s Pick: EDward Gaming (2-0)

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Viper (EDG: $11,400) I am actually really shocked that Viper is not the most expensive player on the slate. In FOUR games played so far, he has 26 kills and 30 assists and has only died 6 times. EDG looks like the top of the LPL yet again and there aren’t too many teams that are going to be able to match up with the weapons they have.

Value Pick: Yagao (JDG: $10,800)

Top

Favorite: 369 (JDG: $6,800) I think going either side on this match could have the opportunity to turn out fine. Both teams are bloodthirsty teams and don’t fade away from fighting at any time or against any team. 369 has the highest amount of kills among top laners on the slate (15) but also the highest amount of deaths (20). I do trust the experience across the entirety of JDG’s lineup and think that 369 has the ability to pick up a lot of kill participation in the late game.

Value Pick: fearness (LGD: $6,000)

Jungle

Favorite: JieJie (EDG: $6,800) JeiJei is the best jungler on the slate and it isn’t relatively close. He has the best KDA among junglers on the slate (7.8 - 5.6 better than second best), most assists (42- 7 more than second best, and the highest team kill participation rate at 73.8%. I am riding the heavy favorites on Tuesday morning and making sure I am picking up the best their best player.

Value Pick: Shad0w (LGD: $6,200)

Mid

Favorite: Scout (EDG: $7,600) Scout is such a safe player, that picking up as your mid will limit a position that you will need to worry about losing big points on deaths. He is also great at picking up gold through farming minions where he is currently averaging 9.0 creeps per minute which is almost a perfect score. He ramps into his late game damage earlier than most mid laners which will also add to bigger numbers out of EDG’s mid.

Value Pick: YeG (LGD: $6,600)

ADC

Favorite: Lpc (LGD: $7,800) Lpc isn’t the best ADC on the slate, but this pick is more about his surrounding pieces. JDG should be favored in this matchup and with how scrappy this series should be; look for all members getting bigger kill/assist numbers. Lpc won’t be the focus for JDG since he isn’t their normal carry which I think will actually lead to him having higher numbers. He will be able to skirt the teamfights and pick up kill participation.

Value Pick: Eric (LGD: $6,800)

Support

Favorite: Meiko (EDG: $6,200) Pair your support with your all start ADCs. I have said it once and I’ll say it 100 more times. In this slate, you almost have to run Meiko, Viper, and JieJie on Tuesday. The skill gap is too large and the three of them are having too high of production output right now. He has 58 assist in 4 games which would put him on pace for record breaking stats for the LPL in Spring. I will say, this is usually above a price point I normally pay for supports so going cheaper is understandable.

Value Pick: Jinjiao (LGD: $5,200)

Team

Favorite: EDward Gaming ($5,200) The reigning World Champions are playing an 0-2 team who has only won 1 game in their matches played and averagive 2 less kills per death (Ultra Prime are averaging less than one kill per death), the two teams are just at two different levels right now. I think UP will turn it around this year, but right now they are too disjointed to compete.

Value Pick: JD Gaming ($5,000)
