(-148) KT Rolster v Kwangdong Freecs (+112)
(-230) T1 v Damwon Gaming KIA (+174)
(-230) Oh My God v Ultra Prime (+175)
(+163) Victory Five v Edward Gaming (-218)
Another wild morning of LPL action for Tuesday morning with both Rare Atom and IG getting huge upsets. On Wednesday, you get a full slate of big performers including T1, DWG, V5, and EDG. Finding the right captain is going to be really important because there are so many big time players on Wednesday. Every LPL team is at the halfway point of Spring (with at least 8 games played) and the LCK is in the same place in their Spring Split. With 7 of the 8 squads positioned as playoff teams, we are in for high quality League of Legends tomorrow morning. Let’s dive in!
Series #1: KT Rolster v Kwangdong Freecs
Cann’s Pick: KT Rolster (2-0)
Series #2: T1 v Damwon Gaming KIA
Cann’s Pick: T1 (2-1)
Series #3: Oh My God v Ultra Prime
Cann’s Pick: Oh My God (2-0)
Series #4: Victory Five v Edward Gaming
Cann’s Pick: Victory Five (2-0)
Fantasy Value Breakdown
Captain
Favorite: Aiming (KT: $11,700) The top two kill leaders in the LCK are on this slate and number two on that list is Aiming. His 4.3 KDA is pretty standard for an ADC but his 108 kills are pretty exceptional. They are facing off against KDF who has a mediocre bottom lane of Teddy and Hoit. This shouldn’t be too hard of an early lane and I trust the carries from KT more than the Freecs.
Value Pick: Photic (V5: $10,500)
Top
Favorite: Shanji (OMG: $6,600) The top laner from OMG has cooled off a bit from his early start in the LPL but he is still performing at a really solid level. His 2.8 KDA is one of the best among top laners in the LPL and his 64% team kill participation is great. He is able to play a wide range of champion styles that allows him to fit into a larger team strategy. OMG is facing the worst team on the slate in UP, and shanji’s performance numbers will reflect that.
Value Pick: Zeus (T1: $5,800)
Jungle
Favorite: Karsa (V5: $6,400) In a comparison of LPL junglers Karsa is second in kills (76), third in assists (171), and third in KDA (4.5). He will be active early against the slower jungler from EDG in JieJie and he will find more opportunities in the early game. EDG is getting respect here because they are the former world champions, but there is something to be said about the current form that V5 is in. This is my upset to watch out for on Wednesday and much of it is because of Karsa.
Value Pick: Canyon (DWG: $6,200)
Mid
Favorite: Faker (T1: $7,200) In the LCK, none reigns his lane quite like Faker. In his current renaissance, Faker has 94 kills (over 4 kills per game) and 142 assists (nearly 6 per game) and has been averaging 76.7 FPPG. ShowMaker is good but DWG has seemed weaker overall, especially in creating leads to seal the game. This will feel like a slower and more grind it out series which is why I didn’t slot Faker into the captain slot because it will be more difficult for him to pick up a ton of kills consistently.
Value Pick: Rookie (V5: $6,800)
ADC
Favorite: Viper (EDG: $7,600) The EDG win condition against V5 will have to be their bottom lane of Viper and Meiko holding their own in the laning phase and rotating into a strong mid to late game. Viper has an impressive 80.2 FPPG with 80 kills in 17 games played. He carries 30% of EDGs team kills and he will need to be constantly avoiding the dive of V5 on Wednesday to get the win.
Value Pick: Gumayusi (T1: $7,400)
Support
Favorite: Keria (T1: $5,800) The highest performing support in the world is Keira. He has a nearly 70 FPPG average and 272 assists through half the season. My mind cannot wrap around the idea of the hypothetical 550 assists this man could have in 20 series played in the Spring Split. The DWG bottom lane is probably the worst it has ever been since the organization's inception with Kellin and deokdam having some really bad games throughout the first 10 series played.
Value Pick: Life (KT: $5,200)
Team
Favorite: Oh My God ($5,800) OMG is not the best team on the slate but they are facing the worst team on the slate. OMG has aggressive tendencies and they will snowball objectives when they are ahead. UP has absolutely no objective control at different points and I could actually see this series getting kind of ugly is OMG jump out to early leads.
Value Pick: KT Rolster ($5,200)
