(+135) Kwangdong Freecs v NS RedForce (-145)
(+180) Fredit BRION v KT Rolster (-240)
(-250) Rare Atom v Anyone’s Legend (+185)
(+335) Invictus Gaming v Victory Five (-500)
(+126) Bilibili Gaming v LNG Esports (-165)
Very little parody in the Saturday matches for both the LPL and the LCK and it looks like this could be the case for Sunday morning as well. If the SuperBowl has you too worked up, catching these high flying matches will be the best way to start your morning. Victory Five look like the heaviest favorites on the slate but keep your eyes open for KT Rolster and Bilibili Gaming to both make big splashes in their matches. Let’s dive in!
Series #1: Kwangdong Freecs v NS RedForce
Cann’s Pick: NS RedForce (2-1)
Series #2: Fredit BRION v KT Rolster
Cann’s Pick: KT Rolster (2-0)
Series #3: Rare Atom v Anyone’s Legend
Cann’s Pick: Rare Atom (2-1)
Series #4: Invictus Gaming v Victory Five
Cann’s Pick: Victory Five (2-0)
Series #5: Bilibili Gaming v LNG Esports
Cann’s Pick: Bilibili Gaming (2-0)
Captain
Favorite: Rookie (V5: $11,400) Rookie is this 4th among LPL mid laners in kills (66) and third in the same group for assists (102). Rookie has moved to a better place where he is surrounded by more talented pieces. Photic, Ppgod, and Karsa all have the ability to take over a game which allows Rookie to focus on winning his assignments. Rookie is jumping out to bigger leads and is eliminating one possible carry on the opposing team. Rookie is playing his former organization on Sunday and I think it will be personal.
Value Pick: Doggo (BLG: $10,200)
Top
Favorite: Canna (NS: $6,600) The idea of a carry top laner is less realistic in the current state of the LCK.Other regions in the world have top laners whose team pours more resources into them but we have seen NS be an exception to this rule in the LCK. Canna leads all Korean top laners in kills (64 in 19 games) and team kill participation rate (64%). Canna will rotate out of lane earlier than most top laners which allows him to pick up more fantasy points than most of his peers. NS has struggled the past few series and they will need Canna to show up in this spot.
Value Pick: Breathe (BLG: $5,800)
Jungle
Favorite: Leyan (RA: $7,000) I am not overly impressed with Rare Atom, but the matchup is too good to pass up. Anyone’s Legend is a really weak team and lack a lot of positional awareness in the mid game. Leyan is an active jungler who finds ways to path to his strong lanes. His 74% team kill participation rate is in the top 5 among LPL junglers. Staying active is a great benchmark for the potential point payout for players, especially into weaker teams.
Value Pick: Tarzan (LNG: $6,600)
Mid
Favorite: Doinb (LNG: $7,200) I think LNG is primed to lose this series, but it won’t be because of Doinb. The well known kill pressure of the 2021 FPX squad came mainly from the middle lane and Doinb’s ability to turn even plays into winning plays. LNG plays through the mid lane and you see that with Doinb’s 72% team kill participation rate. His activity has led to him picking up 44 kills and 87 assists in only 12 games played (3.6 kills and 7 assists per game).
Value Pick: Ariia (KT: $6,800)
ADC
Favorite: Aiming (KT: $7,800) There were very high expectations of Aiming and KT coming into the 2022 season. KT is sitting in a playoff position right now, but they have only been able to pick up 3 wins so far. In his 17 games played, Aiming has 73 kills and 64 assists and has 37% of all KT kills so far. The bottom lane is the win condition for KT and I fully expect them to continue to invest into Aiming in the early game which should translate into points for your lobby.
Value Pick: Vital (NS: $7,200)
Support
Favorite: Ppgod (V5: $6,400) I would put Ppgod at the top of my list for best supports in the world at this point. There aren’t too many bottom lane matchups where I would give pause to picking Ppgod and Photic. The IG bottom lane of Ahn and Lucas is not the pair I am worried about running over the V5 ADC/support duo.
Value Pick: LvMao (LNG: $5,800)
Team
Favorite: Victory Five ($5,800) This is the widest set of odds on the slate for a reason. Invictus is in shambles and the lack of a clear carry player is making it really difficult for them to win games. V5 has a full lineup of playmakers and they team fight really well. This should be the clearest possible 2-0 on the slate and should have the highest ceiling in terms of a team picking up Fantasy points on Sunday.
Value Pick: Bilibili Gaming ($4,800)
