• (+130) Hanwha Life Esports v Liiv Sandbox (-170)

The LCK enters its first round of its regional gauntlet on Tuesday, where the underdog Hanwha Life Esports has barely crossed the finish line into the post-season. Meanwhile, Liiv Sandbox has their own world's aspirations, and the weak Hanwha stands in their way, with only Chovy presenting a challenge to the squad.

Captain - Hanwha Life Esports

Chovy ($15,900)

There’s literally no other option. HLE is the most prolific example of a sinking ship, with only captain Chovy being a decent player on the team. Every other player looks either lost, incompetent, or too inexperienced to find consistency throughout their games. It’s an absolute disaster for HLE, and there’s no other captain worth grabbing for the team aside from Chovy.

Alternatives to consider: Deft ($14,700)

Captain - Liiv Sandbox

Prince ($16,500)

Big points, big points. Prince gets to play with an aggressive support in Effort against HLE’s weak bottom lane of Deft and Vsta. LSB’s bottom lane has rejuvenated the squad, and while they fell early in play-offs, they’ve shown the sparks of a great team just alongside a squad like Nongshim RedForce, for example. Prince is a good ADC that should be able to show up decently enough. If you need to save up money, I’d grab Summit against HLE’s top laners.

Alternatives to consider: Summit ($12,600)

Flex - Hanwha Life Esports

Willer ($9,000)

While Willer is the sack pick of the bunch, he does have a few good things going for him: he’s a jungler, so he’s naturally safe relative to his teammates who have to actually run to lanes to farm. He’s actually a decent player and better than both YoHan and Arthur from his relatively limited time in the LCK, and his close proximity to team captain Chovy should be a plus too, as he gets to leverage the force of a powerful middle laner against LSB’s weak FATE. My only other recommendation is Deft, who can still be a decent enough ADC this late into his career.

Alternatives to consider: Deft ($9,800)

Flex - Liiv Sandbox

Summit ($8,400)

Top laners aren’t often the first option when considering “great players” to watch out for, but Summit is a powerful force on the rift, alongside matching up great into Morgan/DuDu, the two top laners for Hanwha that both have looked less than stellar across their time on the team. For a different option, I’d try to pick up Croco- he’s the rookie of the split and a solid jungler, and should have a solid time into Willer.
