MSI’s rumble stage enters day 2 on Saturday with two games from each team; the ones I have my eyes on are RNG’s games, PGG’s games, and PSG’s games due to their different strengths as teams, MSI has been a relatively bloody tournament so far, so betting “over” in most cases is better than betting “under”, however there is one particular exception on Saturday we will cover in detail.
PrizePicks Prop Selections:
Royal Never Give Up v Pentanet
Wei (RNG) - Projected Fantasy Score: 12.5 - OVER
Royal seems like the team primed to win the tournament; and their aggression lends themselves to have some of the bloodiest games in the tournament. With the amount of movement jungler Wei participates in across the map alongside support Ming, it lends him some of the highest kill participation percentages of all junglers at the event. For that reason, I think Wei is a solid bet to have as one of the top scorers on Saturday and will go over his projected score.
Royal Never Give Up v MAD Lions
Humanoid (MAD) - Projected Fantasy Score: 6.5 - OVER
Similar to what was described above, Royal being one of the bloodiest teams at the event goes two ways, especially since MAD Lions is a surprisingly competent team relative to how they had to gain entrance to the tournament through reverse sweeping finals against Rogue. Humanoid is an unstable time bomb in the middle lane, which is excellent for a contest like this; it doesn’t matter if he explodes either direction, he just needs to explode. Even if he suicides for assists like he has relatively frequently in games, he’s still gaining precious points with little to no detriment to his future impact on accruing points. Mid lane is also an ideal role for racking up plenty of points too, which is also to the advantage of Humanoid.
PSG Talon v Cloud9
Hanabi (PSG) - Projected Fantasy Score: 7.5 - UNDER
Finally, on the other hand, we have PSG Talon. While I wouldn’t call them a “passive” team, relative to a team like MAD or RNG, they’re not particularly aggressive. Their mid-jungle is solid, their support has been solid in the past, but I’m not high on top laner Hanabi, combined with the fact that Fudge has been looking relatively well against hard hitters like Khan and Xiaohu. Top lane isn’t a role predisposed to high kill participation numbers in the past, so I feel solid on betting under for the PSG top laner.
