It’s Tuesday and that means a huge MLB DFS baseball slate on all three sites- DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo. The night begins at 7:00 PM EST, and we have 12 games to pore through in the hopes of making that perfect daily fantasy baseball lineup. We are here to help the Alarm family succeed and that means finding the top value plays on the slate to pair with your big sticks and arms.  Be sure to also check in with our DFS Alarm Weather Center and later in the day, the MLB Lineups for any last-minute value that has popped up. So, let’s get today’s Value Vault open and see who are some of the top points-per-dollar plays on tonight’s MLB schedule.

DFS Value Pitchers

$6900 - DraftKings / $7600 - FanDuel / $39 - Yahoo

588 days. That’s how many days since Mike Clevinger had last pitched in a regular-season MLB game due to various injuries and Tommy John surgery before last week’s start. It was only fitting for the return to be against his former team, Cleveland where he pitched the first four and a half years of his career. He wasn’t lights out but given everything he’s dealt with, it was a pretty good performance. He struck out four Guardians in 4.2 innings and was in command for most of the game before showing some signs of cracking in the fifth - but most importantly, Clevinger threw 95 pitches.

Today, he gets to face the Cubs who are striking out a slate-worst 26.4% against right-handed pitching to go along with a 13.1% SwStr% and 28.2 Whf/Sw%. This is a really cheap price on DraftKings for a pitcher of Clevinger’s ability, especially after throwing 95 pitches but he is priced up a bit on FanDuel.

$7300 - DraftKings / $9000 - FanDuel / $37 - Yahoo

Brad Keller seems to have taken over as the ace of the Royals staff and the team’s most consistent pitcher. He’s always had raw talent and is starting to put it all together as he has pitched six or more innings while allowing two or fewer runs in four of his five starts. He has an ERA of 1.74 on the season with a 0.84 WHIP in 31 innings (fourth-most in MLB).

Tonight, Keller travels to Texas to face a Rangers lineup that is striking out 22.6% and has the 27th worst BA (.208); 28th worst OPS (.574) and wOBA (.261); and 29th worst ISO (.096) against right-handed pitching in the major leagues. Nice spot again for Brad Keller as he tries for his fourth quality start of the season.

DFS Value Hitters

$2600 - DraftKings / $2500 - FanDuel / $12 - Yahoo

Garrett Cooper gets a nice platoon advantage matchup tonight against left-hander Madison Bumgarner and the Diamondbacks. He now has double-digit fantasy point games in two of his last three and is coming off a home run last night to raise his season slash to .253/.355/.385 with a .740 OPS. These aren’t eye-opening numbers, but Cooper has a .198 ISO/.385wOBA with 48.3% hard contact against southpaws going back to last season while Bumgarner has a real high 5.33 xFIP, low 19% strikeout rate, and is getting hit hard (38.7% HC) with the ball going in the air (43.9% FB).

$2700 - DraftKings / $2600 - FanDuel / $16 - Yahoo

Mark Canha is one of my top value plays of the night on all sites. He may not yet have the power that he displayed in Oakland but the patient hitting right-handed bat is having a solid season so far with a slash line of .311/.381/.365 with .746 OPS. He has now been rewarded by Buck Showalter with being placed near the top of the order batting right in front of Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. A smash spot tonight against ol’ gas can lefty himself - Patrick Corbin. Since the start of 2021, Corbin has a 4.71 xFIP; 18% strikeout rate; 8.5 walk rate while allowing 46% hard contact – all well below average numbers. To make matters worse, he is giving up a .247 ISO/.387wOBA with 48% hard contact to right-handed bats. Load up on the Mets tonight.

$3200 - DraftKings / $3500 - FanDuel / $19 - Yahoo

It seems like I have been waiting years for the Manuel Margot breakthrough and it has finally come. He has hit .500 over the past week (12-for-24) with an MLB-best 1.580 OPS to go along with seven runs, six extra-base hits, and a couple of steals. It hasn’t been just the last seven days though, as Margot is slashing .337/.400/.500 with a .900 OPS on the season and is top-8% in the league in xBA (.349) and wOBA (.397). DraftKings finally moved Margot from a sub-$3K salary but $3.2K is still far too cheap for what Margot is doing – especially with a RvL matchup tonight against Reid Detmers and the Angels.

Note: Margot did leave last night’s game early after sliding awkwardly into second base so make sure to check our MLB Lineups page tonight to make sure he is playing.

$2500 - DraftKings / $2500 - FanDuel / $18 - Yahoo

The sites have not caught up to Juan Yepez yet in terms of salary. The Cardinals rookie is off to a smashing start to his career after making his debut last Wednesday and is now 9-for-19 with four extra-base hits in his first five games. He jacked his first MLB home run on Sunday and is now hitting .470 with a .316 ISO/.545 wOBA and .500 OBP. He can play all over the field and may end up as a regular designated hitter with Albert Pujols and Corey Dickerson both off to slow starts. Tonight, he should be in the middle of the Cardinals order against another young prospect, Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish
