Welcome to another NHL DFS Playbook! There are nine games on the slate and a ton of traps. We need to not fall into them.

There are some elite players to choose from, but also some goalies we need to avoid. We need to focus on value, so let’s dive into the action and see what players to focus on.

NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, March 13th

Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper.

There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.

NHL Pick 'Em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy Today

Brady Tkachuk has 25 shots on goal in three games against the Bruins this season. That is an absurd amount even for a player that generated a lot of opportunities. He has 50 in the last ten games and has a fantastic matchup against a below-average Bruins team. Brady is in a good spot and he could hit the over before the third period even starts.

Macklin Celebrini let us down Tuesday night against Nashville, but we’re going right back to him tonight against Chicago. We don’t need a master in quantum mechanics to know that the Blackhawks are terrible on the road. They do have a better goalie in Spencer Knights, but he’s not pitching a shutout tonight. Celebrini is seeing a lot of minutes and generating offence. I think he gets on the scoresheet tonight and I’m hoping it’s in the form of an assist.

Sometimes all you have to do to improve your happiness is leave the city of Buffalo. Dylan Cozen has been very good since coming to Ottawa at the Trade Deadline and his shot volume has gone up. His ice time isn’t as high as we would like it to be, but he’s producing and that’s all we care about. I like Ottawa tonight and I like them to shoot the puck a ton. Cozens should be able to average one shot per period.

Thursday Salary Cap NHL DFS Picks

Goalie Of The Day: Linus Ullmark - OTT

Linus Ullmark put his team on his back against Detroit and carried them to victory. He made 48-saves in a 2-1 victory and now he gets a matchup against the Bruins, who can’t score goals and don’t have a ton of depth.

He beat them earlier in the season – facing just 16 shots on goal – and one could expect the same result tonight. We need him to see more shots, but Boston is just not that good. For that reason, we will only target him in cash games since we are chasing the win.

Honorable Mention: Alexandar Georgiev - SJ

In true Alexandar Georgiev style, the Russian netminder let us down on Tuesday. Am I surprised? Not really, because he’s a terrible goalie, but should he have played better? Yes.

He gets another shot against a terrible Chicago team and here I am again ready to make the same mistake twice. Sometimes we have to trust the math and this is one of those spots. Just be prepared for him to let us down, again.

Player Of The Day: Sidney Crosby - PIT

We had Sidney Crosby in the Playbook on Tuesday and he delivered. The Penguins captain found the back of the net twice and has now scored four goals in the last two games.

He has 43 points in 33 home games and continues to be a production machine. His matchup against St. Louis isn’t elite, but Corsby is, and I trust him to hit value.

Honorable Mention: Leon Draisaitl - EDM

I don’t know how I feel about the Oilers on the road, but I do know that Leon Draisaitl can score goals. He has 46 on the season and over half of them have come on the road. New Jersey is banged up and that’s putting it nicely.

They are starting to get thin, making Draisaitl’s matchup that more appealing. He needs to find the back of the net to hit value, which for him, is something that comes so naturally.

Value Play Of The Day: Colton Dach - CHI

As miserable as the Chicago Blackhawks are, we can’t completely ignore them on this slate. Alexandar Georgiev is still bad at stopping pucks and if he does fall apart, we need to cash in.

Colton Dach is skating on the top line with Connor Bedard and is playing about 13 minutes a game. It’s not great, but at $2800 on DraftKings, we could do a lot worse. He has an above-average matchup and all he needs is a point and a couple of shots on goal to hit value.

Honorable Mention: Artyon Levshunov - CHI

We’re sticking with Chicago because there is so much value to exploit. The team promoted their best rookie from the AHL, and he put together a very solid performance against Colorado.

Artyon Levshunov had three shots on goal and two blocked shots in just over 20 minutes of ice time. The kid is going to be a very good NHL player, and the Blackhawks might as well give him all the chances possible to succeed. He’s $2500 and is a great salary relief option with a massive amount of upside.

Stack Of The Day - OTT PP1 (Brady Tkachuk - Dylan Cozens - Drake Batherson)

You already know why I love Cozen and Tkachuk, but the real wildcard here is Drake Batherson. Of his 50 points in this season, 60% of them have come on home ice. Of his 16 goals, 12 of them at home.

People are going to sleep on him, but not us, because you got this far. I would stack all three together and hope they combine for like 20 shots on goal.
