The fantasy football playoffs giveth, and the fantasy football playoffs taketh away. Some major injuries occurred this weekend to some of the biggest stars in the NFL. Between that, some of the highest scoring performances of the year from various players, round 2 of the playoffs is likely in a much different spot than many expected.

Let’s dive in.

NFL Week 15 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes unfortunately suffered a torn ACL this weekend, ending his season and putting the start of the 2026 season in doubt. Kansas City was also eliminated from playoff contention. This is a huge hit, as Mahomes returned to being an elite fantasy asset in 2025.

Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders

Pete Carroll declined to give any major update on Smith on Monday, leading me to believe it’s more likely than not that he’s inactive this weekend against the Texans. Practice reports will likely tell most of the story here, but I’m expecting Kenny Pickett to get another start.

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Dan Quinn confirmed today that Daniels will be shut down for the remainder of the season. Daniels had a tough sophomore campaign in the NFL, and this unceremonious end to the season means Marcus Mariota will likely be the starter the rest of the way.

NFL Week 15 Injury Report: Running Backs

Woody Marks, Houston Texans

In his first chance to be the true workhorse, Marks ultimately left the contest with an ankle injury and did not return, though head coach DeMeco Ryans said he could’ve returned, but they were already down heavily. Jahwar Jordan had 100 yards in relief of Marks, and may be the best option should Chubb and Marks not be able to return this weekend.

Devin Neal, New Orleans Saints

Neal suffered a hamstring injury and left Sunday’s game against the Panthers. With Kamara and Neal both injured, the Saints may turn to Evan Hull and Audric Estime next week, and maybe some increased work for Taysom Hill.

NFL Week 15 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears

Rome was expected to play, but aggravated his heel injury in pre-game warmups and was ultimately inactive. Chicago faces Green Bay this week, with a chance to separate at the top of the NFC North, so Rome’s absence will certainly be felt. Head coach Ben Johnson has stated that all options are on the table at this point.

Luther Burden, Chicago Bears

Burden suffered an ankle injury Sunday and is day-to-day, per head coach Ben Johnson. This would be a major hit to the offense, with Rome also likely being out this Saturday. DJ Moore becomes a fringe WR2 if both are out.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

Watson suffered a chest/shoulder injury and had to be taken to the hospital as a result. He has since been released and is returning to Green Bay, but his status for Saturday is up in the air.

Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers

Johnston was inactive this weekend with a groin injury, and his status for this coming weekend is also in the air. The Chargers struggled to move the ball, but also eliminated the Chiefs from playoff contention in their win. Johnston’s return to the lineup makes the offense more dynamic, so they’re likely hoping he can return this weekend.

Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams

Adams aggravated the hamstring injury he was dealing with, and as a result, left the contest. He’s also unlikely to play Thursday, but has not been ruled out at this time. Monitor reports here throughout the week.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

After missing time with his knee injury, London is currently expected to return to action this weekend. We will need to keep an eye on injury reports throughout the week, but the team is very hopeful that he’ll return to action.
