We have some fun names to watch on this slate with Kevin Durant, De'Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis. We have a number of players questionable tonight, and Kyrie Irving is still suspended by the NBA. NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets

With not a lot of star power on this slate, I think you most certainly have to go with Kevin Durant in your MVP spot tonight. He is still as dominant as ever as he is still averaging 30 PPG in his age 34 season. With Kyrie Irving out of the lineup, Durant is doing almost everything on this offense. In the Nets last game Durant scored 31 points but also had seven assists to go along with nine rebounds. Durant has yet to score under 42 fantasy points all season. He is as safe as can be.

Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings

If you want to be different, and pivot away from Durant, Sabonis is a good alternative. The Kings have started to play a ton better as of late and Sabonis is a huge reason why. Over Sabonis's last five games he has been on a tear averaging 22/12/6 and 50 fantasy points per game. This has been one of the best stretches of his career. I get it if you want to ride the hot hand, I just think Durant is much safer.

De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

Just as Sabonis is playing well over the past five games, so is De'Aaron Fox. Swiper is averaging 26/7/4 and 46.9 fantasy points over that span. This specific matchup is pretty tough for Fox, Brooklyn has the fourth-best defensive efficiency in the NBA. Sacramento likes to also play fast, and play in transition where Fox excels, but Brooklyn is more of a slow-it-down, half-court offense with KD running the show. I like Fox, and he is one of my favorite players to watch, I am just staying away tonight.

Utility

Nic Claxton, Brooklyn Nets

Claxton was off to a fast start in Sunday's game starting 4-4 from the field for eight points and five rebounds in 16 minutes. Unfortunately for him and his fantasy owners, he was knocked out of the game with an eye injury. He is listed as probable and expected to play tonight. Before that game, he hadn't scored less than 23 fantasy points since October 27th. It should be an interesting matchup between him and Sabonis down low in this one.

Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings

If you are a Kings fan, you couldn't be more pleased with Kevin Huerter. He has really started to come into his own off-ball with De'Aaron Fox running the show. He is averaging a career-high in PPG with 16.6 and shooting a career-high from behind the arc with 51%. The three-point percentage isn't really sustainable, but I think his averaging 16 PPG for the rest of the season is totally sustainable as the third scoring option behind Fox and Sabonis.

Seth Curry, Brooklyn Nets

Seth Curry is finally back and looking like himself over the last two games. He played 23 and 28 minutes and scored 22 and 23 points in those two games. We know he is lethal from behind the arc, but he has shot 10-19 from three-point range in those two contests as well. He was dealing with an ankle injury, so it's great to see him be able to get some lift on his jump shot. With him priced at $4,600, I think he is a no-brainer play in this one.

Dart Throws

Edmond Sumner, Brooklyn Nets

Sumner continues to start at point guard for the suspended Kyrie Irving. Over his last five games, he is averaging 20 minutes per game and scoring 20 fantasy points, so he is producing at a steady rate which is great to see from the young player. At $3,600 he is a good play, and you just hope he goes off for 30 fantasy points as he did the other night.

Terence Davis, Sacramento Kings

Terrance Davis is only $1,800 on DraftKings tonight, but over his last four games, he has been solid. Davis has averaged just 14 minutes per game, but he is averaging 16 fantasy points per game as well. That is the 16th-best fantasy points per minute in the NBA. He may not be getting enough minutes, but he is making the most out of the minutes he is getting.
