Dillon Brooks , SF MEM ($5,200)

The hope is that Brooks plays 37 minutes tonight just like he did in his last game, but he is averaging 29 minutes over his last five games so playing time isn’t our biggest concern. Brooks is a high-volume shooter, especially from behind the arc as he attempted ten three-pointers on Monday and that led to 22 points and 38 fantasy points. While the usage rate is there (27.4%), Brooks is only averaging 2.7 assists per game so we need him to score to be effective. Based on the price though, we don’t have a substantial hill to climb and it’s hard to argue with his workload.

Luguentz Dort , SF OKC ($4,300)

Not only are the Thunder still without George Hill and Theo Maledon but now Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will also be missing tonight’s game against the Lakers. With good reason Oklahoma City is a double-digit underdog, but someone still needs to play in the backcourt and score. Dort does lack some offensive upside (11.5 points per game this season) but he is going to be on the floor a lot tonight. On the season Dort is playing about 29 minutes per game even without the absences and in his last game he logged 38 minutes. We aren’t looking for much here and the important thing is that Dort will have plenty of time on the court to accumulate some fantasy value.

Patrick Williams, PF CHI ($4,400)

Everyone knew Williams had potential entering the draft, but he has begun delivering on that perhaps earlier than anticipated. The multi-week injury to Lauri Markkanen certainly helps but Williams is taking advantage of the 30-plus minutes he has logged over each of his last four games. Over that stretch, Williams is averaging 14.5 points while also his value on the boards with 7.5 rebounds per game. At this price, sign me up everyday of the week considering based on his talent, there is room for upside here.

Isaiah Roby , PF/C OKC ($3,700)

When we last saw Roby, he scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 34 minutes of play before missing the last two games with a foot injury. Roby has been cleared to return tonight against the Lakers and it appears he will be one of just eight healthy players for the Thunder. Prior to his best game of the season, Roby scored 13 points in 19 minutes and when given the playing time throughout the season, he has shown the ability to hit double digits in points. At his price that is all we ask for, and with Anthony Davis still questionable in the Lakers’ frontcourt, Roby is in position to provide a solid return on your investment.

Doug McDermott , SF/PF IND ($4,800)

The Nets have proven that defense is not a strength of theirs, and a 234.5 over/under tonight against the Pacers illustrates that. After a bad loss against Detroit last night in which they allowed 122 points, the Pacers come to town. Over his last five games, McDermott has averaged 28 minutes so he will have ample opportunity to score tonight as he is coming off four straight double-digit performances with 18 points and six rebounds in his last game. Tonight’s pace of play and lack of defensive resistance should benefit McDermott as the path to 25 fantasy points doesn’t appear to be too difficult.

Landry Shamet , SG BKN ($3,800)

Shamet’s career in Brooklyn didn’t get off to the best of starts but he has found his shooting groove as of late. Based on his cost we aren’t asking much of Shamet but he has hit double figures in four of his last five games. I wouldn’t be too concerned with Shamet coming off the bench, as at 21 minutes per game over that stretch, playing time isn’t an issue as he is averaging 11.8 points with a high of 22. His value is solely dependent upon getting the ball through the hoop, but that is the main reason why Shamet is on the court anyway to provide a scoring boost to the second unit.
