NBA Best Bets & Player Props November 6th

NBA Player Prop of the Night

D’Angelo Russell OVER 5.5 Assists (+100 BetMGM)

D’Angelo Russell and the Lakers are still trying to find their footing. That is to say they have not played with consistency this season, and that is why they have a 3-3 record. They have a tough battle tonight, as the Lakers play in south beach against the Miami Heat. As long as LeBron James is playing, his games against Miami will always have a little more juice. LeBron James, like Shaq O’Neal, went against the authoritarian Pat Riley… The franchise's president since 1995. Since a heated departure, both LeBron and Miami have experienced success. LeBron proved his point to Pat Riley with the Lakers beating the Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. The Miami Heat went on to become Eastern Conference champions again last year. D. Russell was drafted by the Lakers in 2015 but was not part of the 2020 championship team. He is however averaging 6.5 assists per game, and will need to be a general of the court with the tough Miami Heat defense. In doing so he should find the open player and count on them to make the basket. D. Russell has gone over this prop in four of six games, hopefully he makes it five.

NBA Parlay Bet

Philadelphia 76ers -1.5 1st Half AND Golden State Warriors Moneyline (-123 BetMGM)

The Philadelphia 76ers have the largest spread of the night with -11.5 for the game. They are coming off of good rest, and the players received in the recent trade are ready for action. The first half line has been teased to -1.5 and Philadelphia should take advantage of the weak starting five. Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey are playing on an All-Star level while that can not be said for any Detroit Pistons. A majorly teased down spread to help boost the odds of the Golden State moneyline. Golden State played their normal rotation last night but fell short against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Detroit Pistons do not have near a complete team as the Cavaliers, and the Warriors should match up well against the Pistons. They are 7.5 point favorites, and the Warriors should respond to their loss. For what it is worth, the Warriors have been a missed bet the last two times mentioned in this column… the third time should be the charm.

NBA Same-Game Parlay Pick

Denver Nuggets ML, Aaron Gordon OVER 18.5 Points & Assists, Nikola Jokic OVER 11.5 Rebounds, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope OVER 1.5 Steals (+750 DK) .5 Unit

The Denver Nuggets have another tough Western Conference battle tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans won at Ball Arena on March 30th, and the Nuggets have only lost one home game since then… game two of the NBA finals. Unfortunately both Jamal Murray and CJ McCollum will be out, and the Pelicans will be starting their third-string point guard. This benefits KCP as the Pelicans have an outstanding average of 13.2 turnovers per game. That number is likely to go up tonight, KCP has a steal in every game this season, and he has two or more in four of six games. Aaron Gordon took more of a point-forward position once Jamal went out in the last game. Gordon has crushed this line in three of his last four games and will be asked to do more while J. Murray is out… he is more than capable of it. The question of who will take the throne from LeBron has been a half a decade in the making. Little did we all realize it was already taken by the quiet ‘King of the Mountain’... Nikola Jokic. Jokic is second in both points per game and rebounds per game. His rebounding average is 12.7 per game, and despite Jonas Valanciunas’ amazing rebounding skills and Zion’s athletic ability they both take series off, or play with minimal effort. The King does not. Trust him to step it up as a rebounder and leader this game. New Orleans vs Denver should be a great game, but Ball Arena is a tough place to play, and as a bettor it is a great statistic to take advantage of.
