Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - Week 13

Halfway through June and we are still dealing with shuffling rotations, pitchers coming back from injury with doubts about their pitch counts and some new arms arriving from the minors to muddle the scene for the fantasy owner working to assemble a trustworthy rotation. There is a nice set of 10 top-tier Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers to employ this coming scoring period, and a surprisingly light load of middle-tier arms to consider relying upon this week. The second half of this week’s report offers up a nice slew of Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters to contemplate for a single start…or a hurler to slip onto your staff for future benefits.

These 10 pitchers are well-suited to keep your fantasy teams in contention for that title when all is said and done. There were more slated to fill the ace role, but weather and rotation adjustments reduced the available upper group members as the week played on. Quite often, it is the steady progression of counting stat accumulation while avoiding damage to those ratio stats that finds a fantasy manager looking down on the rest of the league when it all shakes out. Plug these aces into your rotations and reap the benefits.

Rodriguez took a loss after allowing a leadoff first inning homer to Bo Bichette of the host Blue Jays, and despite pitching just an out shy of a full five frames, only allowed one more run (unearned). He had held the visiting Mariners to just two earned tallies in his prior start, picking up both a win and a quality start (QS), while also collecting 6 Ks over his 6.1 IP. He carried some inflated ratios into his last two appearances on the bump, after struggling mightily through early May. He does offers good K potential with a 9.5 K/9 rate on the season. Plus, his two upcoming contests are good matchups, facing the White Sox and then the Marlins
Fedde, the veteran Cardinal righthander, has not seen his name in the win column since early May, although he has been pitching well enough over his last 46.1 IP: 2.91 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 0.6 HR/9, such that he should not be on the losing side of the ledger so frequently. Neither of these upcoming contests are favorable overall, but the home contest to open the scoring period has the best outlook for the SP.
It was not exactly pretty, but Kolek did pick up a quality start (QS) against the host Dodgers and ended up with a no-decision when the Padre offense rallied late to help him avoid his third loss over his nine starts in 2025. He has a useful 3.59 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, but the strikeout potential is low (6.3 K/9). The matchup against the Nationals at home looks to be his better start in Week 13.Â
Verlander returned to the bump after a four-week IL stay, and comes back without a rehab stint, just some bullpen work. He put in a full workload over his 4.2 IP in his first start since being activated with 83 pitches (56 of which were strikes). He will continue to work on returning his ratios to useful levels, as well as picking up his first victory as a Giant, and the two matchups in Week 13 are favorable. He did rack up six Ks against the Guardian hitters in his return to action.

There are some matchups in this tier that could be tempting for a streaming start or two (Yarbrough, Ober, Buehler perhaps) but these arms are in the final grouping for the reason that these hurlers are more likely to harm your ratios while not improving your counting numbers greatly. Pick and choose carefully among these SP…or take a gander down below at some more appealing streaming options.

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers
There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best streaming candidates:
Charlie Morton, Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers
The veteran righty has been effective for the most part since rejoining the Oriole rotation at the end of May, and dealt a quality start (QS) against the host Rays, having just racked up another 10 K effort against the visiting Angel offense in his prior outing. There was never really a question about his ability to generate swings and misses, and looking at his peripheral metrics, it looks as though he was suffering from some bad luck to open this season. He gets another chance to climb the hill at home in this contest, against a team that is middle-of-the-pack in terms of strikeouts.
Ryan Bergert, San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals
In his last four starts (including a shortened start against the host Dodgers), he has posted a useful 2.25 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over those 20.0 IP, and collected 17 Ks. He has also allowed nine free passes, so some work on his control is in order. This home start against the Nats will be only his second opportunity to toe the rubber in San Diego, and it is a good matchup to see how he fares at home on the hill.
Edward Cabrera, Miami Marlins at San Francisco Giants
The Marlin righty is a great source of Ks, and gets to head to the West Coast and take on the free-swinging Giant lineup in this outing. He did come back from a scare where he tweaked his ankle to toss the most innings he has lasted in any contest this season (6.1 IP).
Colton Gordon, Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The young southpaw had been credited with a pair of consecutive victories prior to his most recent no decision while scraping the slab against the host As, and is collecting strikeouts at nearly a K per frame rate in his short time as a member of the Astro rotation. He has been yielding round trippers a bit too frequently to be fully trustworthy on the bump and the two runs he allowed in his last time on the hill were the result of dingers.Â
Jacob Lopez, Athletics at Detroit Tigers
The 27-year-old southpaw picked up his third QS out of six starts this season, and also was able to strike out nine hitters for the second consecutive outing, the third time he has achieved that feat in his last four times climbing the hill. His peripheral metrics indicate that this sort of production on the bump is not a fluke. Note though in limited road action he has not been extra sharp, and here he faces a team that plays well in their home park in Detroit.
Emerson Hancock, Seattle Mariners at Minnesota Twins
The Bryce Miller elbow injury assures the third-year right-hander a place at the back end of the Mariners rotation until the All-Star Break most likely. He has been working diligently to reduce his ratios to more attractive levels, currently holding a 4.48 ERA and 1.38 WHIP, both of which are substantially better here in mid-June as opposed to the ugly stats he was showcasing through April and May. He has shown himself to be more a road warrior this season, so a game on a foreign diamond is not necessarily a reason to avoid streaming him. Plus, he is the best option on the board on Thursday.
Brayan Bello, Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays
The 26-year-old righty has twirled three consecutive QS, although he only has one victory to show for those efforts. He will occasionally rack up some serious Ks, but for the most part, he is a sub-average strikeout producer who could use some better control (4.2 BB/9 over his 59.1 IP). He does generate a boatload of ground balls while toiling on the bump (53.6 GB%), which aids his efforts on the mound. His home/road splits are about even, but the opponent here is playing sub-.500 ball in 2025.
Michael Burrows, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. New York Mets
The Pirates play much better at PNC Park this season, so banking on a Pittsburgh hurler toeing the rubber at home is not necessarily a horrible decision. The second-year right-hander has been amassing serious strikeout numbers, whiffing 20 over his last 15.0 IP. The Mets, however, are not known to be free-swinging hitters, so that positive aspect may not be fully available in this matchup, but he does have some potential as a streaming SP due to the home start.
Aaron Civale, Chicago White Sox vs. San Francisco Giants
The veteran righthander was uncharacteristically wild in his first start for his new team, handing out four free passes to the host Rangers in a loss. Getting the Giants away from Oracle Park is a positive note for the new addition to the White Sox rotation. He offers slightly below average strikeout potential for his owners, but his control could use some tuning up.
Brandon Walter, Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs
Technically still a rookie based on his total MLB inning count, he has shone brightly in his three starts this season, tossing a pair of QS and allowing just three earned tallies over his 17.2 IP. He has also collected 19 Ks while allowing just one free pass over those trips to scrape the slab. He is not likely a fixture in the Houston rotation once the injuries are healed, but he is certainly worthy of a streaming start while he is this hot.
Mitch Spence, Athletics at New York Yankees
In three June starts, he has held opponents to a miserly two earned runs resulting in a superior 1.20 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his most recent 15.0 IP. His peripheral metrics look good, so while the ratios may see some adjustment, his success is not immediately in jeopardy, just some moderation.
Ryan Gusto, Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs
The rookie righty struck out a season-high eight Athletic hitters in his most recent outing, building on his skills at missing bats he has demonstrated all season. His WHIP suffers from his inability to consistently locate the plate while he is dealing from the hill, currently residing at an inflated 1.53. His home/road splits are skewed by one bad outing essentially, although the Cubs have been effective both at Wrigley Field and on the road.Â
Dean Kremer, Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays
The 29-year-old righty has been looking effective with an occasional slip up since the beginning of May, posting a 3.52 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP over the 53.2 IP those nine starts capture. His strikeout rate is slightly below average over that span, but the control is above-average (7.5 K/9, 2.5 BB/9). A home start plays to his strong side of the home/road splits he has posted to date.
Mike Soroka, Washington Nationals vs. Kyle Hendricks, Los Angeles Angels
Our only contest where the hurlers on both sides of the field have potential as your streaming options. The National righthander is coming off a loss to the Rockies, a difficult feat to be sure, but a loss where he racked up nine Ks. His control and command were suspect, hitting three batters and handing out two round trippers to Colorado hitters. He does have two QS among his last three appearances.
The Angel veteran righty is also arriving off a nine-strikeout effort, but this was his third consecutive victory, the last two of which were QS. He is not known for his whiff potential, though, and facing the Nationals who are the opposite of a free-swinging offense, and you should keep your counting stat expectations in check.Â
Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians vs. St. Louis Cardinals
The third-year right-hander has been a find for the Guardians, stepping in as the fifth starter and racking up significant K numbers as evidenced by his 10.1 K/9 rate over his limited six starts. He has held opponents to just five earned runs over his last 15.0 IP for a 3.00 ERA. The WHIP is a bit inflated due to the 3.2 BB/9 rate over those three trips to the bump. Getting the Cardinals away from Busch Stadium is a benefit.
