Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB Weather: Tuesday, 7/29
Los Angeles Dodgers @ Cincinnati Reds
There's a chance a storm pops over the stadium that could cause a delay, but there's nothing overly concerning here.
Boston Red Sox @ Minnesota Twins
This game, although some rain could come, should play a full nine innings.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers
It has been quite a good return for Tyler Glasnow, especially after the All-Star break. He's fired 13 IP of 2 ER while notching 18 Ks to 2 BBs. The Reds have been a bottom-10 offense against right-handed pitching in the month of July. They're 20th or worse in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ in July.
Nick Lodolo, Cincinnati Reds
In July, the Dodgers have struggled against left-handed pitching. They rank 20th in OPS and have a 25.2% K-rate. Lodolo is coming off a complete-game shutout and has a 1.85 ERA over his last seven starts. His opponents are batting .193 against him over that span.
Lucas Giolito, Boston Red Sox
The Twins have not had a lot of fun against right-handed in July ranking 23rd in OPS as their mark has dipped below .700. They also happen to be 24th in wOBA and wRC+ over that same timeframe while striking out 23.5% of the time. Giolito is coming off two subpar starts in a row but the Twins aren't Philly or the Cubs.
Yusei Kikuchi, Los Angeles Angels
This spot is elite. Super elite. In July alone, things are getting worse for the Rangers against left-handed pitching. In July they have a 28.9% K-rate along with a .630 OPS, .276 wOBA, and 75 wRC+, which all ranks 24th or worse. That's been the case all year long, they've been terrible against lefties. Yusei Kikuchi hasn't been in his best form lately but he has a massive ceiling. He's had multiple 10+ K games this season.
Michael Soroka, Washington Nationals
Well, the injuries are finally catching up to the Astros. Since the All-Star break, they are 28th in OPS, wOBA, wRC+, and 27th in ISO. Michael Soroka has been better lately allowing just 1 ER in each of them and had six strikeouts last time out. Soroka is at 9.6 K/9 this season and since the break, the Astros have a 22.4% K-rate against righties.
Joe Boyle, Tampa Bay Rays
If Boyle can keep the ball in the yard, he has a nice ceiling at his price point. It really hasn't been the Yankees offense that's been the issue for them; it's been the pitching. Since the All-Star break the Yankees have a .222 ISO vs. RHP, so that's scary. They also have a 23.8% K-rate over that span and Boyle has a high strikeout ceiling.
Bailey Falter, Pittsburgh Pirates
This is risky I must admit, but the matchup is the matchup and it's an elite one. In July, NOBODY has struck out more than the Giants as they sit at a 29.7% K-rate against southpaws while they're 24th or worse in OPS, ISO, wOBA, and wRC+. Falter is coming off seven innings of one-run baseball while striking out eight. Falter's SO cheap and is definitely a solid MME play.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Back to the Sutter Health Well Heals Monday's Pain
Nothing better than going right back to a spot that let you down the night before. It's a great spot. Sometimes recency bias can lower the ownership and that is seemingly a mistake.
We'll start with the Mariners matchup against Luis Severino, who hates pitching at home. He has a 3.03 ERA on the road but a 6.68 ERA at home and his opponents are hitting .302 with a .360 wOBA.
Lefties at home are OK but righties have destroyed him. Righties have a .327/.371/.503 slash against him at home. For the record, I'm not fading lefties by any means. Here are the Mariners vs. RHP this year;
- Cal Raleigh - .317 ISO, .377 wOBA, 25 HR
- Josh Naylor - .177 ISO, .192 xISO, .371 wOBA, .388 xwOBA
- Julio Rodriguez - .148 ISO, .168 xISO, .317 wOBA, .327 xwOBA, 10 HR
- Randy Arozarena - .207 ISO, .196 xISO, .349 wOBA, .356 xwOBA, 14 HR
- Jorge Polanco - .224 ISO, .213 xISO, .339 wOBA, .370 xwOBA, 15 HR
- Dominic Canzone - .240 ISO, .258 xISO, .372 wOBA, .367 xwOBA
Now, to the Athletics..
Logan Evans takes the mound for the Mariners and he's struggling against both splits;
vs. LH - .188 ISO, .199 xISO, .351 wOBA, .355 xwOBA
vs. RH - .169 ISO, .200 xISO, .331 wOBA, .384 xwOBA
He has a 3.64 ERA this year but a 5.51 xERA, 4.82 FIP, 4.64 xFIP, 4.73 SIERA and now has to navigate a minor league park.
Lets look at some Athletics numbers against righties;
- Nick Kurtz - .420 ISO, .404 xISO, .495 wOBA, .466 xwOBA, 19 HR
- Brent Rooker - .205 ISO, .240 xISO, .347 wOBA, .370 xwOBA, 16 HR
- Shea Langeliers - .230 ISO, .180 xISO, 13 HR
- Tyler Soderstrom - .235 ISO, .236 xISO, .369 wOBA, .379 xwOBA, 18 HR
- Lawrence Butler - .180 ISO, .332 wOBA, 12 HR
Phillies Shot out of a Cannon
The Phillies are a very high upside offense because of the home runs they can hit when they get hot. Jonathan Cannon has been a mediocre pitcher and has actually been a little lucky too.
Lefties have a .213 ISO, .369 wOBA, and a 39.1% FB rate. Righties have a .180 ISO, .206 xISO, .320 wOBA, .354 xwOBA, and a 44% FB rate.
Lefties, you say? I heard Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper are pretty good at baseball. You want a righty bat? Can I interest you in Trea Turner, Nick Castellanos, or J.T. Realmuto.
They're an easy five-man stack to get to today.Â
Cards get Sandy on Beach
It's been an awful season for Sandy Alcantara and it doesn't get any easier against an offense who simply doesn't strike out. He's bad against both splits, too, and the Cardinals have a good balance of both.
Lefties have actually been incredibly unlucky this point as he's notched a 5.52 FIP and 5.27 xFIP. Meanwhile, righties are hitting .292 with a .335 wOBA this year.
The first Cardinal I'm looking at is Alec Burleson as he's homered in back-to-back days and has a .205 ISO, .222 xISO, .373 wOBA, and .375 xwOBA. Brendan Donovan has a .147 ISO, .200 xISO, .369 wOBA, and a .398 xwOBA. To round out the Cards stack, Willson Contreras has a .231 xISO, .363 xwOBA, and Ivan Herrera who's hitting north of .300 this year.
Erick Fedde is Royal-ly in Trouble
This is an interesting spot because Erick Fedde is making his Braves debut and there's a reason he's not pitching for the Cardinals anymore; he hasn't been good this year. He has a 5.22 ERA and a 5.80 xERA.Â
Lefties have given him issues on the surface and under the hood while righties numbers are muted but Fedde's gotten lucky against them. Righties have a .275 BABIP and 5.11 xFIP against Fedde yet are hitting just .250.
In July, the Royals are third in ISO at .197, so if they can lift the ball, Fedde's in trouble and he allows a lot of flyballs and hard contact. Lefties have a .205 ISO and .235 xISO while righties have a .130 ISO but a .175 xISO.
Hopefully Salvador Perez plays because he's been awesome lately. On top of that, Bobby Witt has done all of his damage against righties this year, Vinnie Pasquantino has been awesome over the last couple of the months and on the year, he has a .177 ISO, .192 xISO, and a .347 wOBA.
To finish out the stack, Jonathan India has had a very unlucky season, Maikel Garcia, John Rave, and even MJ Melendez.
….White Sox Again?
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, has been better in the major leagues against left-handed pitching in the month of July than the Chicago White Sox. They're literally number one in OPS, ISO, wOBA, and wRC+ as a team.
Righties have given Jesus Luzardo fits this season posting a .287 AVG along with a .347 wOBA.
There's a lot to like about the White Sox lineup vs. LHP this year;
- Austin Slater - .273 ISO, .363 xISO, .384 wOBA, .467 xwOBA
- Edgar Quero - .139 ISO, .431 wOBA
- Luis Robert - .282 ISO, .304 xISO, .418 wOBA, .437 xwOBA
- Michael Taylor - .261 ISO, .267 xISO
- Miguel Vargas - .186 ISO, .306 wOBA
Top One Offs
- Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers
- Agustin Ramirez & Otto Lopez, Miami Marlins
- James Wood & CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals
- Taylor Ward & Jo Adell, Los Angeles Angels
- Oneil Cruz, Pittsburgh Pirates
