If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

Week 3 was an absolute killer and if you built your lineups off the Playbook and DFS Dart Board, you could have had a lineup in excess of 300 points and taken down some fierce money. With that, let's not waste any time and get to who we're watching this week...

Match-Up History:

Honestly, the match-up history between these two clubs is irrelevant as they haven’t faced each other since November of 2016. Sure, the Packers have won four of the last five, but these teams look dramatically different than they did three years ago.

If you are playing the Showdown Slate, here’s who I like:

Aaron Rodgers , QB GB – While this isn’t the gunslinging Rodgers we are used to, he’s been an efficient passer playing mistake-free football, averaging 215.7 passing yards per game with four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Packers are doing a lot more running lately, but with both running backs playing but recently banged-up and Eagles DB Ronald Darby potentially out, this could be the prime-time coming out party for the veteran this season.

Carson Wentz , QB PHI – I like Rodgers more in this match-up as the Eagles are going to need to run the ball to be effective against this defense. However, you can’t rule out the fact that the Eagles could be in catch-up mode in the second half which means Wentz could take some chances and maybe rack up some points through the air. Getting back some of his receiving targets certainly helps.

Aaron Jones , RB GB – The Eagles have a strong run defense and aren’t giving up a ton of yards on the ground, but Jones is Matt LaFleur clear-cut favorite at the goal line and once the Packers get inside the 10-yard line, he wants the ball punched in on the ground. He’s still working his way back from a shoulder issue which is why Jamaal Williams had so many touches last week, but now with him dealing with a neck issue, Jones should be more heavily featured.

Jordan Howard , RB PHI – The Packers defense is no joke and if the Eagles are going to be effective against them, they have to attack with the run. While Doug Pederson likes his pre-snap motion and trickery, at some point in this match-up he’s going to realize the need for an attack up the middle to weaken the defensive line. Most people will be on Miles Sanders as the lead back, so low ownership will be in your favor.

Miles Sanders, RB PHI – He is also in-play as, again, the Eagles will need to run the ball if they want to escape Lambeau Field with a win. In addition to the Packers allowing an average of 131 rushing yards per game, they rank 17th against running back pass plays and give up 63 yards per game to them.

Davante Adams , WR GB – A healthy Ronald Darby grades out poorly in coverage against Adams, so just imagine how bad he looks if he’s limited by a hamstring injury. If Darby doesn’t play, it gets even tastier for Adams and this could be exactly the game he and Rodgers need to feel good about the team’s start.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling , WR GB – He’s getting the looks from Rodgers he needs to be a successful fantasy wideout and should Rodgers find himself in a little groove, he’s going to look to take some shots downfield.

Alshon Jeffery , WR PHI – It was a little bit surprising to see Jeffery good to go for this game as earlier reports had him potentially out until Week 5. Still, he should be a welcomed site, especially because the Packers defense has done an amazing job clamping down on tight ends which means Zach Ertz is going to have some issues. Barring any kind of a setback, Jeffery should help pick up the slack.
