POINT GUARDS

PlayerTeam# GamesComment
1) Stephen CurryGSW4Do I really need to explain? He’s the best in the game!
2) Russell WestbrookOKC4Westbrook continues to show why he is a No. 1 option in the NBA. He has been just as effective as Kevin Durant (currently injured) from a scoring and rebounding standpoint and it all comes complete with triple-doubles (two last week).
3) Damian LillardPOR4Lillard has been showing a bit of maturity as his shot selection is a lot smarter than last season. He is being patient when in isolation by looking to his left and his right as soon he gets the ball on many occasions. It shows that he is making an effort to look for an inside option.
4) Eric BledsoePHX4The up-tempo Suns offense makes it very easy for Bledsoe to run the floor. To those who have seen the movie “Top Gun,” Bledsoe and Brandon Knight (Maverick and Iceman of the Suns) are excellent at pumping the breaks when on transition, letting their defender run past them giving them an open jumper.
5) Chris PaulLAC3Speaking of up-tempo offenses, the Clippers make it easy for Paul to rack up the assist stats because the rest of the team is always moving (or in DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin’s cases, flying).
6) Kyle LowryTOR4As long as he is on the court, he has shown that he is the Raptors’ top scoring option and they need to rely on him more than anyone else in the closing minutes of games. The guy hits fade-away threes (enough proven).
7) Jeff TeagueATL3It is becoming an easy format. If the lane is open most of the game, he will attack the rim over and over again. If he has to go into combo-guard mode and has to rely more on his jumper, you never know what you’re going to get.
8) Rajon RondoSAC3Rondo has had 12 or more assists in each of the four Week 3 games he played in.
9) Mike ConleyMEM3Conley has scored in double figures as of late and has kept his assist numbers high which still makes him a legitimate reliable option. We have seen very few disappearing acts this season.
10) Reggie JacksonDET4The Pistons have two established roles on their team. Andre Drummond controls the paint (and pretty much whatever else he wants inside the key) and Jackson controls the key area (and whatever else he wants to control). Everyone else get open. Jackson truly is the “everything guard” on this team.
11) John WallWSH2Fills up the stat-sheet. Bradley Beal has not been 100 percent. He has shown that he is still one of the fastest players in the league with the ball in his hands from baseline to baseline.
12) Jarrett JackBKN4Jack has definitely risen to the occasion this season and plays a ton of minutes. Jack is most lethal when he is shooting between 45-50 percent from the field and has been doing so.
13) Elfrid PaytonORL2Only two games and Victor Oladipo still needs to pass the league’s concussion protocol. Payton picks up more time, more possession of the ball and more shot opportunities.
14) Mo WilliamsCLE3Still a reliable wing and lane-driving scoring option that LeBron James is completely comfortable with. Williams has also shown he can run the floor and hit the open man on transition (helps with assists).
15) Kemba WalkerCHA3We know Walker can score when he is shooting well, but seeing more rebounds and assists on his stat-line should excite fantasy owners. He is becoming a more dynamic guard and just needs to stay healthy.
16) Deron WilliamsDAL4Williams has been shooting very well from downtown and has been rewarded with more playing time. His shot has lost its steam a bit over the last few years but his skills of being able to run the point and shoot aggressively cannot be overlooked.
17) Derrick RoseCHI3If Rose plays, you play him. He looks slow and lost when on the court from time to time, but is still a top scoring option if on the floor. Every Rose has its thorn and this Rose certainly does.
18) Jrue HolidayNO4Wanted. Needed. A BIG box of chocolates. When he is not hurt, he still looks hurt. He is explosive, but it is hard to tell how much his body will let him work before the pain comes back and he needs to be taken out.
19) Michael Carter-WilliamsMIL3Logged 40 minutes in his return and helped in multiple categories. He is back and as long as he is shooting 40-45 percent, fantasy owners will love him.
20) George HillIND3Hill can shoot and drive but is in a constant Wheel of Fortune game with the rest of the guards (and small forwards) on this team when it comes to playing time and shot opportunities.

SHOOTING GUARDS

PlayerTeam# GamesComment
1) James HardenHOU4It does not matter who is in and/or out of the Rockets’ lineup on a given night. Harden makes it happen, especially on the offensive side.
2) DeMar DeRozanTOR4I never thought I would say this but, shoot more, drive less. DeRozan is an excellent mid-range scorer, but really likes to drive into traffic down the lane and that often results in turnovers.
3) Klay ThompsonGSW4MINOR INJURY RISK: Has definitely shown signs of breaking out. He just needs to keep shooting and will roll off a few 20-point games in a row. He is dealing with a small back injury.
4) Brandon KnightPHX4 See “Top Gun” reference above. Definitely a top scoring option per week.
5) C.J. McCollumPOR4His speed and agility have really come into form and he gets a lot of chances to create. He plays like a Damian Lillard Version 2.0.
6) Nicolas BatumCHA3It is hard to tell who the top shooting option is between Batum and Kemba Walker. Batum has been consistently reliable and has great shooting range.
7) Kobe BryantLAL3After spending the first two weeks of the season shooting jumpers and trying to keep his body-pain down, over his last couple games he has been more aggressive and is driving the lane and seeing a lot more success.
8) Dwyane WadeMIA3Wade is a very dynamic option until his hamstrings tighten up. Wade’s minutes are definitely being monitored.
9) Eric GordonNO4Tyreke Evans is still down and out and Gordon has an excellent high-arching jumper that’s hard to contest and can run the floor with quickness.
10) Kevin MartinMIN3Kevin Martin has one of the most unique shot-styles in the league that takes a line drive of a flight path to the rim and with Ricky Rubio banged up, he will be relied on more.
11) Monta EllisIND3Getting himself a lot more involved in the offense and has been attacking the rim a good amount. His offense is balanced between driving and shooting.
12) Goran DragicMIA3Dragic runs the floor very well and sacrifices his body. When he plays the off-guard role, he looks confused and uncomfortable with the ball. I feel like his best position is being the Heat’s traditional point guard.
13) Trevor ArizaHOU4Ultra-reliable defensively and that continues to keep him in games. He is a threat from downtown.
14) Jimmy ButlerCHI3Butler gets all of the playing time he can handle and is a bigger rebounder who follows shots closely. He crashes the boards a lot.
15) Gordon HaywardUTAH2Runs the side of the court in a diagonal pattern, which confuses defenders. Hayward’s confidence in his shooting has grown, but does not have enough games this week.
16) Joe JohnsonBKN4Johnson has been developing a mid-range game which should get him more open looks right around the free-throw line and that will result in more points.
17) Jamal CrawfordLAC3Crawford seems to have the hot hand right now in the Clippers’ guard rotation and will continue to see more playing time.
18) Kyle KorverATL3Korver seems healthy and ready to resume his role as the stop and pop jump shooter. Korver has definitely improved his game by stepping inside the key.
19) Danny GreenSAS4Green has gotten a ton of open looks but has just not capitalized. With the way the Spurs’ offense rolls, Green will continue to see open looks. He will be a major scorer this week if he can just knock down these jumpers.
20) Bradley BealWSH2INJURY RISK (SHOULDER): If he plays, he will get a ton of shot opportunities.

SMALL FORWARDS

PlayerTeam# GamesComment
1) LeBron JamesCLE3Continues to show signs of good health, good play on the court and is looking more towards setting up his teammates.
2) Paul GeorgeIND3George looks back in full form and can play multiple positions for the Pacers and his playing time will continue to rise.
3) Carmelo AnthonyNYK3Anthony is starting to heat up a bit and when he is shooting over 43 percent, the Knicks’ offense runs a lot more effectively.
4) DeMarre CarrollTOR4The foot is better and he will continue to show more of his shooting range from the outside. Carroll will often be found open with Demar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry constantly looking to drive.
5) Kawhi LeonardSAS4The after effects of an upper respiratory illness should not keep Leonard off the court and he has been scoring nearly 22 points per game this season.
6) Rudy GaySAC3Gay continues to be most effective from distance and when he is able to get away from his on the ball defender, he is an excellent pick and pop option.
7) Andrew WigginsMIN3Wiggins will need to continue to try to drive the lane more and draw contact with Rubio out. Expect a lot of scoring when the Timberwolves speed up their offense.
8) Thaddeus YoungBKN4Just as effective on offense as he is on defense. He guards the post and plays it well. Young has a few nifty under the basket moves and can burn you from long range as well.
9) Khris MiddletonMIL3Middleton has been opening the Bucks’ playing time doors wide open as he has been creating more with the ball and is always trying to provide the Bucks with second chance scoring opportunities.
10) Tobias HarrisORL2I say it every week: One of the best at working the upper part of the paint and is very consistent at working his way inside.
11) Giannis AntetokounmpoMIL3Fills the stat sheet when on the court and can play multiple positions just like Paul George can.
12) Jeff GreenMEM4His excellent reach and on the ball defense keeps him in games and Green has shown that he is excellent in running the floor in transition.
13) Danilo GallinariDEN4At this point Gallinari remains the Nuggets’ top scoring option and has excellent range. He also tries to drive inside.
14) Wesley MatthewsDAL4Matthews has been getting a bit more isolation time in this shoot-heavy Mavericks offense and that shows trust among the coaching staff.
15) Jae CrowderBOS4Crowder looks fully healthy and is excellent at defending the post and has a lot of speed and is a very reliable mid-range shooters.
16) Luol DengMIA3 There will be nights where the opposition is too tough, but Deng on offense is one of the most reliable wing players and hits a good amount of long range shots.
17) Harrison BarnesGSW4Good secondary scoring option who can provide a good amount of help inside and can compile rebounds.
18) Kevin DurantOKC4INJURY RISK (Hamstring): You could only see him play in two games this week, but fantasy owners need to understand that the Thunder will absolutely keep Durant out even if he is feeling the slightest bit of discomfort.
19) Ersan IlyasovaDET3Coach Stan Van Gundy has spoken about how rookie Stanley Johnson is not ready for more of a workload and that translates into more playing time for the sharp-shooting combo-forward who can always knock down the open three-pointer.
20) Chandler ParsonsDAL4Not a full believer in his health or shooting just yet. If he gets hot in the first game this week, everything changes and he moves up the rankings.

POWER FORWARDS

PlayerTeam# GamesComment
1) Anthony DavisNO4Not only has he been scoring and rebounding a ton, but has shown his shooting range and is hitting three-pointers.
2) Dirk NowitzkiDAL4Nowitzki is a “made-guy” in Dallas and gets as many shot opportunities as he wants and can always be relied on for high scoring.
3) Paul MillsapATL3Millsap continues to show his ability to create on offense when he has the ball to go along with his staunch defense.
4) Blake GriffinLAC3Griffin continues to play more inside this season and that is resulting in more effectiveness from him and his stat-line and the Clippers as a whole.
5) Kevin LoveCLE3Love continues to play outside the lane as a stretch-four jump shooter. He is absolutely reliable, but can be even more reliable if he posts up and plays in the paint more.
6) Tim DuncanSAS4You can pretty much expect a double-double from Duncan every time he steps onto the court as he does not leave the lower block.
7) Greg MonroeMIL3Monroe has been creating with the ball on offense and still utilizes his strong post game. He often draws the double and he finds one of his teammates open.
8) Draymond GreenGSW4Green continues to get more involved in the Warriors’ offense and has shown excellent skills at finding himself open on the break.
9) Serge IbakaOKC4Ibaka’s rebounding and blocks alone make him a great fantasy commodity. Any offense he shows is an added bonus.
10) LaMarcus AldridgeSAS4Aldridge is heavily involved in the Spurs’ offense and still gets the ability to create and shoot from the outside even with Kawhi Leonard right next to him.
11) Chris BoshMIA3Bosh is still as effective as always and as each week goes by, I wonder when teams will realize that they need to guard him at the key.
12) Pau GasolCHI3I cannot doubt Gasol’s skill-set in the post. He has been looking a bit slow lately. If he slows down, Taj Gibson and/or even Joakim Noah will pick up more playing time.
13) Markieff MorrisPHX4While Morris is a bit raw when it comes to shooting, his inside presence and low post game continues to improve.
14) Jared SullingerBOS4Sullinger has emerged as the Celtics’ leading inside big man and has been tearing down rebounds lately.
15) Zach RandolphMEM3Randolph not only provides more second chance scoring opportunities for his team than most of the league at his position, but is also relied on to hit jumpers especially at crucial times in games.
16) Derrick FavorsUTAH2Favors has been all over the scoring and the glass to start the season. Favors is excellent at following his own shots and draws a ton of contact inside.
17) Marcus MorrisDET3Showing signs of being a good wing player but just needs to be more consistent when in the game. Some days he comes to shoot and others, he’s a lot more tentative with his decision-making.
18) Kenneth FariedDEN4Still raw offensively, but an excellent rebounder and on the ball defender and will continue to stay in the game. The Nuggets have very little help in that department.
19) Nikola MiroticCHI3Mirotic’s shooting and post game make it hard for the Bulls to bench him. His opposition seems to lose him when defending him as he can move quick down the court.
20) Kristaps PorzingisNYK3Porzingis is seeing a lot of his success from crashing the boards. He is a good spot-up shooter, but in games in which Carmelo Anthony is hot, he will serve as more of a screen-setter.

CENTERS

PlayerTeam# GamesComment
1) Andre DrummondDET3Drummond continues to play and look more like Ben Wallace each week and is definitely one of the top paint players in the league.
2) Al HorfordATL3Horford has certainly been showing his range lately and is definitely the Hawks’ top scoring option.
3) Marc GasolMEM3Gasol has shown tremendous poise and patience from the elbow and even beyond the arc.
4) DeAndre JordanLAC3Jordan has been just as an effective defender as he has always been and any offense you get from him is certainly a bonus.
5) DeMarcus CousinsSAC3Cousins has really shown his shooting range as he has been hitting three-pointers. Even with Rajon Rondo on the court, he still gets the chance to create from the outside.
6) Hassan WhitesideMIA3When he stays out of foul trouble, he is one of the most effective rebounders in the game.
7) Tyson ChandlerPHX4A banged up Suns frontcourt gives Chandler even more playing time to work with and you can certainly expect 10 rebounds from him.
8) Mason PlumleePOR4The Blazers’ frontcourt is also hurt and Plumlee has been their high energy big man who constantly fights for post position. He has been more aggressive on the glass.
9) Nerlens NoelPHI4Noel’s defense has seemed to be a little more consistent than his offense and look for him to have games with higher point totals.
10) Al JeffersonCHA3Jefferson continues to work his defenders on an angle between the elbow and low block and has been successful in backing his way to the hoop and getting good positioning off the glass.
11) Brook LopezBKN4Lopez avoided another foot injury and continues to be most lethal with his shot right outside the paint.
12) Rudy GobertUTAH2Only two games this week but is one of the most effective rebounders in the league and that will help add rebounds to your overall weekly total.
13) Zaza PachuliaDAL4He is able to stay healthy and quietly go for 10 points and 10 rebounds and is often left open from mid-range.
14) Andrew BogutGSW4Bogut is healthy as of now and grabs a ton of rebounds in a limited amount of time.
15) Jahlil OkaforPHI4As of right now, his defensive effort seems to be there more consistently than his offense, but team’s with weak frontcourt’s will have a tough time keeping him out of the paint.
16) Joakim NoahCHI3Noah will see more playing time if the tempo of the Bulls’ opposition game is slow. Noah is good at defending up at the top of the paint, but could slow the rest of the Bulls transition game on offense.
17) Enes KanterOKC4Kanter’s post game has definitely improved and that is making him a more dynamic center. He is excellent at passing the ball out and repositioning himself for an easy lay in.
18) Nikola VucevicORL2The Magic’s most effective big man is healthy and should be able to have ample playing time in both games because as he continues to gain health and speed, the break with the short week will allow him to play more.
19) Jonas ValanciunasTOR4Still needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble, but is starting to learn how to play effectively inside.
20) Timofey MozgovCLE3Same story every week. Always a volume play and the Cavs have no issue with putting in Tristan Thompson at Center.
