Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out, or that we need to monitor.

Note: If you’re looking for the most up-to-date COVID-19 information regarding players who are out of the lineup, you can find that here.

Ryan Nugent Hopkins - Edmonton Oilers - Undisclosed

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was held out of the lineup on Saturday afternoon due to an undisclosed injury and is considered day-to-day. The former first overall pick was sidelined earlier in the year due to COVID-19, so whatever he is dealing with is not related to that. We should get an update on his status before their next game on Monday against the Leafs.

Brendan Gallagher - Montreal Canadiens - Lower-body

As if things for Montreal couldn’t get any worse, Brendan Gallagher was not in action on Saturday afternoon due to a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Already without a ton of players due to injury and COVID-19, the Habs can’t afford to lose anyone else. They will have an extended break here, so hopefully the next time they take the ice, they will have some regular NHLers ready to return.

Robin Lehner - Vegas Golden Knights - Lower-body

It has not been a good week for the Golden Knights. Netminder Robin Lehner has missed three games due to a lower-body injury, and there is no timetable for his return. Considering how much this team has gone through with injuries, losing Lehner for an extended period of time would hurt them tremendously. His next chance to return to action is on Sunday against Winnipeg.

Mark Stone - Vegas Golden Knights - Upper-body

Next to be added to the injury list for Vegas is captain Mark Stone. He tweaked his upper-body injury on Dec. 21 and hasn’t played since. The team has placed him on IR, but he is eligible to come off at any time. Stone has battled his fair share of injuries this season, but when healthy, he’s a key part of the offence. It’s unlikely that we see him return for Sunday’s game, or for their game against Nashville on Tuesday.

Max Pacioretty - Vegas Golden Knights - Wrist

This one probably hurts the most. After injuring himself in the first game of the season, Max Pacioretty returned to the lineup a few weeks after and picked up right where he left off. Now he will be sidelined for an indefinite amount of time after undergoing successful wrist surgery. The expectation is that he will be out of the lineup at least two months, but we don’t know for sure at this moment. Wrist injuries are hard to recover from, and considering how good of a shooter Pacioretty is, we could be looking at maybe a three month absence. As mentioned earlier, it’s been a bad week for the Golden Knights, and it’s not going to get better anytime soon.
