Best NFL DFS Week 6 Picks & Watch List: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Plays
Published: Oct 07, 2025
With the previous DFS week officially in our rearview mirror, it's time to get to our NFL DFS Week 6 picks! Last week we saw a massive amount of value on the main slate. Players like Rico Dowdle and Michael Carter popped up on our radar, not only because a rash of NFL injuries opened the door for them to get more work, but also because we had four teams on a bye, as well as a Europe game. This week, we only have two teams on a bye (Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings), but we still have another Europe game and now Monday night has a doubleheader so we're staying at a 10-game main slate. Did the injuries we just witnessed give us as much value this week? Let's dive into our NFL DFS Week 6 picks for the DFS Watch List and see.

Before we dive into this week's picks, there is something we should address in the DFS gaming world. As many of you have seen overt the past two or three seasons, we are fighting against a number of lineup trains. If you're new here or just aren't familiar, it's when a company with a lineup optimizer spits out the exact same lineup to its subscribers and they all enter the same contest. In my 100-person cash games (50/50s), I had lineup trains of 30-40 people and that makes it significantly more difficult to cash, especially when only the top 50 are paid. If you don't beat the lineup train's score then you're screwed, so that means your margin for error is much smaller.
Another thing you're dealing with is that these lineups are not true cash lineups. They are using GPP tactics in there and swinging for the fences. Upside is stull what they are all about, so they're willing to take a guys who only scores two or three points so they can jam in an extra top-priced play. So now you're fighting against a group of 30-40 people who are also playing cash games in an unconventional way. The pay-lines are increasing dramatically.
So how do we fight against them? My feeling – and this is how I'm going to do it moving forward – is focus on single-entry GPP tournament builds and use them in both cash games and those specific GPP tournaments. You're not totally swinging for the fences, but you're also not looking to just build a zero-fat lineup that focuses on high-owned players mixed with your guys. For large-field, multi-entry GPP tournaments, we are swinging for the fences. We're taking much bigger risks. You'll see what I mean when I post the Playbook and the Example Lineups, but for now, that seems to me to be the best way to battle against the short-cuts and algorithms right now.
Let's keep moving forward, but again, before hopping into our NFL DFS Week 6 picks, I always like to post the optimal lineups from the previous week's DFS Playbook. It's good to see our hits, but it also helps us understand where we fell short and how best to adjust our lineup construction. Contest selection is also a big thing but we'll save that lecture for another time.
Here are the top lineups we could have built just off the DFS Playbook and Dart Board:

Again, just trying to show you what could have been. Yes, some of my Example Lineups may have steered you in a different direction, but that's why you build your own and always use the examples as a sounding board. No one says you should be using them in your contests.
Now let's get to our NFL DFS Week 6 picks for the Watch List.
