Welcome to the Sunday Night Showdown Slate for NFL Week 7!

While tonight’s Seahawks/Cardinals game is on the main slate for DFS, you still get a fresh start for the game with the option to play the Showdown Slate. Chances are you have a number of these players in your main lineups, so you can either double-down on them or use the Showdown as a way to hedge. Either way, this game is supposed to be a barn-burner and you’re probably going to be locked into it for the night.

Before we start, please allow me to reiterate that while we all love having a little skin in the game, these showdown slates are basically lottery tickets. Sure, there are times when the chalk hits and everyone shares in the prizes, but more often than not, you need that random, differentiate yourself from the herd dart-throw to hit in order to claim that top prize. As a result, we encourage to play responsibly. Stick to the GPP contests (single-entry preferred), don’t blow your whole bankroll and understand that, unless you are a max-entry player, you should prioritize having fun.

OK, lecture over. Let’s get to tonight’s action.

Captain/MVP

Kyler Murray , QB ARI – While Murray hasn't looked great at times, his high-floor is undeniable. He's posted 30-plus fantasy points in five of his six games, thrown for 10 touchdowns and run in six on his own. He's also averaged 61.7 rushing yards per game to help pad his stats. Considering how bad Seattle's pass defense has been this year -- 29th in DVOA against the pass with 370.4 passing yards allowed per game -- Murray should have a dynamic game

Russell Wilson , QB SEA – If you think more people will be using Murray as their Captain/MVP, then this is a very easy pivot. Wilson has three 300-yard efforts in five games with a 19:3 TD:INT and he hasn't thrown for fewer than two scores in each game. He’s never lost in Arizona and will be looking to keep that streak alive.

DK Metcalf, WR SEA -- Metcalf on the outside against either Dre Kirkpatrick or Patrick Peterson makes my mouth water. He's seeing close to eight targets per game and has yet to finish with less than 90 receiving yards in any game he's played this season. He also has five touchdowns in five games.

Mid-Tier

DeAndre Hopkins , WR ARI – There is some concern regarding the ankle, but if Hopkins plays like everyone expects he will, he should feast on this soft Seattle secondary. Not using him in the Captain seat is obviously the hedge with the ankle concerns, but overall, you just can’t fade him if he’s active. The touchdown total is a little off so far, but three 100-yard efforts reminds you of his explosiveness.

Chris Carson , RB SEA – The Cardinals run defense may rank 10th in DVOA, but they’re still allowing almost 120 rushing yards per game and they’ve coughed up three rushing touchdowns thus far. But the real reason we like Carson here is because Arizona ranks 26th against running back pass plays, allowing just over 50 yards per game to them. We’ve all seen Wilson hit Carson in the flat down inside the red zone….multiple times.

Tyler Lockett , WR SEA – He’s been unusually quiet since his three-touchdown game in Week 3, but he should get a strong share of the targets in this anticipated shootout. The Cardinals have Byron Murphy covering the slot which tilts the advantage Lockett’s way as he has the speed to burn him in coverage and can gain position on him coming across the field.

Dart-Throws

Chase Edmonds , RB ARI – The question everyone has is “Drake or Edmonds?” We’ll take the shot with Edmonds in anticipation of the Seahawks taking a lead and the Cardinals utilizing him more in the passing game. If Edmonds can out-snap Drake in this contest, then he’ll be worth the dart throw and hopefully, he can find the end zone.

Christian Kirk , WR ARI – We assume Hopkins will play which means Kirk becomes a strong play in this match-up as he will see plenty of one-on-one coverage with Shaquill Griffin . The match-up isn’t ideal on paper, but Kirk has the speed to break away from coverage and stretch the field. And no, we’re not chasing points from last week. It’s a Showdown slate, so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Greg Olsen , TE SEA – How about a dart-throw at the old man? Arizona ranks 12th in DVOA against the tight end, but they’re allowing almost 50 yards per game to the position. If the Seahawks get the ball inside the green zone, a quick pass to Olsen could be just what they need.
