UPDATED 10/24

If your lineups are anything like mine, your choices each week are getting tougher and tougher. The sheer amount of injuries we’re seeing certainly isn’t helping, nor are the 6 teams on bye this week. With week 7 in the books, more players ended up with seemingly serious injuries that could cause them to miss more time and limit their upside. Let’s take a peek at those injuries.

WEEK 8 BYES: Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks

NFL Week 8 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

10/24 UPDATE

Bryce is officially listed as Doubtful, opening the door for Andy Dalton to start this weekend. Young only missed one week in the past with this injury, and the team is hopeful this will be the case again.

Bryce picked up a high ankle sprain this past weekend and was replaced by Andy Dalton during the game. This is the same ankle Bryce has hurt in the past, and previously, this was just a one missed game situation for the young QB. Bryce is expected to be out in Week 8, but hopefully not much after.

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

10/24 UPDATE

Daniels has already been ruled out for this week's matchup. Marcus Mariota will get the start in his absence. Mariota receives a bump as well as it appears both McLaurin and Deebo Samuel will be returning as both have practiced in full.

Daniels left the game due to a hamstring strain and is expected to miss some time. After an MRI today, it was deemed that the injury is “not significant” per Head Coach Dan Quinn. Daniels seemingly can’t catch a break, but Mariota is a quality backup who also offers some rushing upside should Daniels be unable to go against KC.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

10/24 UPDATE

Jackson’s week started with a DNP, then limited practice, before logging a full practice on Friday. I’m expecting Lamar to be fully active this week against Chicago, even if he isn’t 100 percent Lamar.

Jackson is expected to return to the field this week after missing almost a month of action. This will be a huge bump for fantasy managers as well as the Ravens receiving core.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

10/24 UPDATE

At this point, Purdy is not expected to start this Sunday against the Texans. Mac Jones is in line for yet another start.

NFL Week 8 Injury Report: Running Backs

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/24 UPDATE

Bucky continues not to participate in practice and has posted multiple pictures to Instagram of himself still wearing a form of brace on his injured arm. Irving will continue to miss time, making Rachaad White the starter yet again.

Bucky is out for tonight's game, as he deals with both shoulder and foot injuries. Seeing as he hasn’t returned to practice in any fashion, I’m expecting his absence to extend.

Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs

10/24 UPDATE

Hunt is dealing with a knee injury and has not practiced at the time of writing. I’m expecting him to miss this week, leading to increased roles for Pacheco and rookie Brashard Smith, as well as third-string back Elijah Mitchell.

Aaron Jones Sr, Minnesota Vikings

Jones is now eligible to return from the IR, and all indications from the team are showing that he will be activated and active this week. That said, we need to see him practice with no issues, but managers can hopefully get their RB1 back.

NFL Week 8 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders

10/24 UPDATE

Deebo has been able to practice in full and is expected to return to action this week. With Mariota at the helm, the offense is in a better spot with his return.

Deebo ultimately was ruled out due to his heel injury. The hope is he will be back and be available in week 8. Monitor practice reports closely to stay up to date with information on his status.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

10/24 UPDATE

McLaurin has returned to practice in full, leading us to expect him to be active this week. This is a huge bump for the Commanders and fantasy managers alike.

Mike Evans/Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/24 UPDATE

Evans suffered a concussion and a broken collarbone in Monday night's game. He will be out for most of the remainder of the fantasy season, but should return just prior to the playoffs of the NFL.

Evans is officially listed as questionable for the game tonight, however there is a lot of hope that he will be active and able to play. Egbuka is also listed as questionable and there is a “real chance for him to play” per Adam Schefter, but there is a shared belief amongst the industry that he will not be active as his injury is much more recent than Evans.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

All signs point to Watson returning to the lineup in week 8. He posted a story on his Instagram alluding to this fact, which will be huge for managers, as well as the Packers. Dontayvion Wicks sustained a calf injury in week 7, and with Jayden Reed on IR, Watson will be a solid boost to the Packers' receiving core.

Christian Kirk, Houston Texans

Christian Kirk has been ruled out for tonight's game against Seattle as he is dealing with his hamstring injury. Kirk has not played since week 5, and week 8 is his hopeful return date.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers

10/24 UPDATE

Pearsall has not yet returned to practice and is in line to miss another week of football. It’s been a tough 2 years for the second-year player, and he’s in line to miss his 9th game out of his 20 chances.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/24 UPDATE

Godwin will not be available this week as he continues to deal with a lower leg injury. With Mike Evans being out for most of the Fantasy season, managers will have to look elsewhere in this wide receiver room.

Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans

10/24 UPDATE

Ridley continues to miss practice with his hamstring injury. He has officially been ruled OUT. Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor will continue to lead this wide receiver room for the time being.

Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

10/24 UPDATE

Wilson has been ruled out this week as he continues to deal with a knee injury. With the question marks at QB, given we do not know if Tyrod Taylor or Justin Fields will get the start, this Jets offense is getting gross quickly.

Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers

10/24 UPDATE

Luckily, the Packers are projected to get Watson back, because Wicks is listed as doubtful after not practicing this week. With Wicks out, Watson should slot back into a solid workload with Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, and Tucker Kraft as other pass-catching options.

Nico Collins, Houston Texans

10/24 UPDATE

Collins is on the injury report with a concussion, and after not practicing on Friday, he is expected to miss this week's game. With Christian Kirk also not practicing, the rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylen Noel project to lead the wide receiver room with Xavier Hutchinson.

A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles

10/24 UPDATE

AJ Brown has now missed multiple practices with a hamstring injury. At this rate, Brown is expected to miss this week, with DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, and John Metchie III expected to see more work.

NFL Week 8 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears

Kmet left Sunday's game due to a back injury. The Bears are hopeful he won’t have to miss any time, but managers should be prepared to be without Kmet if rostered. Colston Loveland has been getting more involved in the offense, so hopefully the Bears can handle Kmet’s absence.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

10/24 UPDATE

Njoku is listed as questionable after multiple limited practices this week. Monitor full reports throughout the weekend to get a better idea, but it appears Njoku will be active once again.

Njoku remains day-to-day with his knee injury per head coach Kevin Stefanski. Njoku managers will need to monitor practice reports and beat reporters closely so that they can get a better understanding here.

Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins

Waller left week 7 with a pectoral injury. His status is currently unknown, but hope is that this is a minor injury. Monitor practice reports for the veteran TE.
