Welcome to the Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Report! The waiver wire is key to winning. It helps you improve on the team you drafted, and to help patch holes when players go down due to injury. It’s something most managers will monitor daily. Let’s take a look at who we should be adding this week.

Chandler Stephenson has been great all season, but the fantasy community continues to disrespect him. He has struggled of late, but Vegas has decided to move him back onto the top line on the wing with Jack Eichel and Max Pacioretty. He finished with a goal and an assist against San Jose and if he can hold onto that spot, he should continue to trend towards a 70-point season. Imagine finding a player on the waiver wire who can produce that many points.

There’s a reason why Minnesota is the best scoring team in the NHL and Matt Boldy is part of it. He’s found a home on the second line with Kevin Fiala and Frederick Gaudreau and on the top power play unit. He’s playing over 17-minutes a night and continues to find the back of the net. Despite all the success, he’s 34% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, which is criminal considering the opportunity he’s getting. He won’t blow the league away with his production, but he can certainly help a fantasy team win a championship.

Last week Jesse Puljujarvi was in the section, but he’s going to be out of the lineup for about four weeks due to injury, so Kailer Yamamoto is getting the first crack at playing with Connor McDavid. He has two points in the last three games and is playing over 16-minutes a game regularly. This is a huge opportunity for him to turn his season around and could become fantasy relevant as we moved towards the fantasy hockey playoffs. He’s widely available across all platforms and should be considered in deeper formats.

Don’t look now, but Anton Forsberg may be starting to run away with the starting job in Ottawa. Matt Murray is out of the lineup due to injury and Forsberg has been really solid of late. He’s given up only five goals in his last four starts and has two wins in that same timeframe. Trusting any Ottawa goalie is a risk, but if you spot start them in the correct matchup, then can provide fantasy owners with a ton of value. That is the case here. He’s a short-term solution until Murray is ready to return.

It’s been a really difficult season for Jeff Petry, but he might be turning the corner. He has two goals in the last three games and is playing a healthy amount of minutes. We know that there is talk of him being dealt before the Trade Deadline, and if he can keep up this play, the Habs will be able to get a better return. The coaching change is probably the main reason for his turnaround. The veteran defenceman has the skillset to jump up in the play and create something and he’s getting the chance to do that. Fantasy owners who need some depth on the blue line should look to add Petry.
