Latest NFL News & Rumors This Week

We are officially over a third of the way through the season, which means there is plenty of news to cover! In today's Latest NFL News & Rumors This Week, we discuss the return of Rashee Rice to the Chiefs offense, rumors surrounding the NFL trade deadline, and much more!

Fantasy Football News: Rashee Rice Returns from Suspension

Hope your fantasy team isn't 0-6 at this point because Rashee Rice is finally making his long-awaited return to the Kansas City Chiefs' starting lineup. Rice was suspended for the first six games of the NFL season during the offseason after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Last year, Rice averaged around 22 fantasy points per game, so he is a welcome sight in starting lineups for fantasy managers.

The Chiefs have recently found their momentum on offense, averaging just under 32 points per game over the past three games. Now with Rice back in the lineup, their passing attack should open up even more, making Kansas City one of the top threats in the AFC once again.

NFL Rumors: Potential NFL Trade Deadline Moves

The NFL Trade Deadline arrives on November 4th, and the rumors have already run wild. Some teams, like the New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and Miami Dolphins, are expected to move some of their players due to their losing records, with names like Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Jakobi Meyers, and Jaelan Phillips already being mentioned in trade rumors. Meanwhile, winning teams such as the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, and Philadelphia Eagles have already been speculated to be “buyers” at the deadline to fill holes on their rosters or replace injured players.

NFL Injury Update: CeeDee Lamb, Terry McLaurin

Right now, the NFC East seems like it is completely up for grabs, now that the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have dropped two straight games. This is great news for two division rivals, as they could be getting some much-needed reinforcements back this week. Dallas Cowboys Superstar receiver CeeDee Lamb left his Week Three matchup against the Chicago Bears with an ankle injury and has yet to be able to rejoin the team on gameday. Now, it appears he could be in line to play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

That being said, the Commanders could be getting their star receiver back from injury as well, as Terry McLaurin was able to rejoin practice today. This would be a relief for the Commanders, as they just had to place fellow receiver Noah Brown on IR. The Commanders and Cowboys face off on Sunday, October 19th, at 4:35 PM ET.

Running Back Usage: Kenneth Walker, Rico Dowdle

In their five full games together, Kenneth Walker has gotten 69 touches to Zach Charbonnet's 64 touches. With those touches, Walker has produced 326 total yards, while Charbonnet has produced 156 yards. Yet, the Seahawks will still have these two in a 50/50 backfield. For fantasy football, these guys are now borderline unstartable, but in reality, the Seahawks sit at 4-2, so while it might seem silly, the team feels no need to make any changes.

A team that will be making some changes to their backfield, though, is the Carolina Panthers. In Chuba Hubbard's absence, Rico Dowdle has put up historic numbers, helping lead the Panthers to back-to-back wins. Now that Hubbard is returning, many are unsure what this backfield will look like. Head coach Dave Canales reported that no matter who starts the game, both of the backs will get their touches. So, while it may have been a bellcow backfield before, things might start looking more like Seattle for the Panthers in the coming weeks.
