The Atlanta Hawks-Utah Jazz game has a game total of 242 across sportsbooks and the last time these 2 teams faced off, the Hawks and Jazz scored a combined 244 points. Hawks point guard Trae Young was dealing with a sore ankle recently, but that didn’t stop him from notching a double-double last time out.

Jazz center Kelly Olynyk recently returned from being out for a few weeks with an injured ankle, but it’s undetermined whether he will be unleashed tonight and given more than 20 minutes. Both teams rank in the top half of the league in pace of play with the pace favoring Utah. The Jazz are hosting, and they play a lot better at home than on the road. Here are a few players we can look to use for the DFS NBA showdown tonight.

Utah Jazz

Simone Fontecchio - Questionable

MVP/Captain

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

This game isn’t expected to be a blowout and Young should play 35-40 minutes tonight. He’s posted five straight double-doubles and has shot over 47 percent from the field in each of his last 3 games. The Jazz are a bottom-five team at guarding point guards and Young posted 22 points and 9 assists last game against Utah. Young should be looking at 20-23 shots tonight and he’s hit at least 50 percent of his three-pointers in 2 of his last 3 outings. Young shouldn’t have too much trouble getting to the basket either.

He’s dished double-digit assists in six of his last seven and has even stolen the ball in both of his last two contests. The pace should be brisk between these two teams and Young sits with a 33 percent usage rate and averages 1.31 fantasy points per minute. Mike Conley isn’t quick enough to keep up with Young and Young’s been rebounding a bit more and should be able to gain positioning in the lane. He’s pulled down three or more boards in four of his last five games.

Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz

The Hawks defense versus big men is very weak as they rank 27th in the league at defending power forwards and Markkanen dropped 32 points and grabbed 8 rebounds against Atlanta in their 1st matchup. The All-Star Markkanen has exceeded his 24.9 scoring average in 3 of his last 4 matchups. Markkanen shoots 52 percent from the floor and 43 percent from beyond the arc. He’s produced double-doubles in five of his last seven games and he should look to attack the basket more as Clint Capela isn’t a good defender and John Collins doesn’t know how to keep players out of the lane.

Markkanen has pulled down no fewer than 11 rebounds in 6 of his last 8 outings. He’s been producing steals a lot more consistently grabbing one in seven of his last eight games. The pace is on his side and even with Kelly Olynyk back on the court, it shouldn’t impact Markkanen’s production.

Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks

Murray stuffs the stat sheet and he scored 26 points and posted 6 boards and 5 dimes the last time the Hawks faced the Jazz. The Jazz are a bottom-five team at guarding shooting guards and Murray should be looking at 15-20 shots this evening and he’s certainly heating up from downtown shooting at least 57 percent in both of his last 2 games. Murray doesn’t play on the ball as much as Trae Young, but he still gets plenty of scoring opportunities as he’s hit the 20-point mark in 9 of his last 10 battles.

He shot at least 52 percent from the field in 7 games during that span and he’s exceeded his 5.5 rebounding average in 4 of his last 5 contests. Murray steals the ball 1.6 times per contest and has posted 2 multi-steal games in his last 3 and he’s even swatted away shots in 2 of his last 4 games. Murray dishes plenty of assists as well and even with Young fully healthy, he should still dish a chunk of assists tonight.

Utility

Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks

Capela averages a double-double and pulls down 11.4 rebounds per game. He grabbed 19 boards the last time these 2 teams met up and he’s posted as many boards just 3 times this year. He’s been a consistent double-digit scorer scoring over 12 points per game and he’s secured 4 double-doubles in his last 5 battles. Kelly Olynyk isn’t the most aggressive center and Walker Kessler needs more experience and Capela should take advantage of both in the paint. He also blocks 1.3 shots per game and has produced swipes in 5 of his last 6 with 3 of those games being multi-steal outings.

Capela doesn’t stretch the floor and continues to be very productive on the low block and the Jazz won’t stop him from controlling the paint. He doesn’t get in foul trouble, and he’s taken 10 or more shots in 3 of his last 5 games. Unless the game gets out of hand, Capela should play around 30 minutes tonight.

Walker Kessler Utah Jazz

Kelly Olynyk may be back, but Kessler should still get prioritization when it comes to playing time. He has more size than Olynyk and the Jazz should think about starting him for the rest of the season to give him as many reps as possible. The Hawks rank 22nd at covering centers and Kessler has produced back-to-back double-doubles. In the previous game against the Hawks, Kessler scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots in 16 minutes off the bench. He should be in double-double territory once again this evening.

Kessler blocks at least two shots per game and he’s swatted away 12 total over his last 2 games. He’s scored no fewer than 13 points in 5 of his last 7 contests and we should see him take 7-10 shots this evening. Like Capela, Kessler is an inside-specific center who won’t be competing for shots at the arc against Olynyk and Lauri Markkanen. There will be plenty of plays called for him in the low post.

Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz

The Hawks are good at defending opposing backcourts, but Clarkson put up 23 points and a handful of boards and dimes in the 1st game of this season series. If Clarkson is in drive mode rather than settling for jump shots, he’ll draw contact and be able to produce from the foul line again. He hit seven free throws in his first matchup against Atlanta. Clarkson has shot over 47 percent from the field in 3 of his last 5 matchups. Clarkson scores nearly 21 points per battle.

He’ll get some time playing on the ball and he drops 4.3 dimes per contest. He must keep the turnovers down for us to get full value from him tonight. Clarkson has hit at least 41 percent of his three-pointers in 2 of his last 3 contests. Clarkson will play 30-35 minutes and he should take 15-18 shots this evening in a pace-up spot. He stole the ball in three of his last five outings as well.

Mike Conley, Utah Jazz

The most amount of assists that Conley has posted in a game this season is 13 and it happened when he faced the Hawks last game. Conley has dished 10 or more assists in 2 of his last 3 games and he’s exceeded his 7.6 dimes average in 5 of his last 6 contests. Conley doesn’t take a lot of shots and his shooting has been up and down, but he is coming off a 19-point effort and has scored in double figures in 2 of his last 4 games.

Conley has been very helpful on the steals front lately swiping the ball in four of his last five battles and grabbing eight steals collectively during that span. He’s even been rebounding a bit more grabbing at least three in seven straight contests. If Conley is going to be as volatile as he’s been scoring the basketball, we’ll need help in other areas from him and he’s been producing dimes and steals consistently.

Dart Throws

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Atlanta Hawks

The Jazz rank 15th at containing mid-courts and Bogdanovic will get plenty of time to produce with the Hawks reserves and he’s shot over 49 percent from the field over his last 5 games. Bogdanovic has hit over 44 percent of his treys during that span and in a swiftly paced game, we can trust him to hit double figures in field goal attempts tonight. He’s scored more than his 15.5 average in 3 of his last 4 games and he’s posted 3 boards and 3 dimes per game. He even posted steals in four of his last five battles.

Bogdanovic will favor the arc on offense, but if he sees an opening, he’ll attack the lane or make like he’s attacking the lane with the ball only for him to pull up and shoot. He wasn’t active the last time these two teams battled and despite De’Andre Hunter scoring 22 points last time out on 15 shots, Bogdanovic has a bit more potential when it comes to multi-category production.

Malik Beasley, Utah Jazz

Beasley had a good game when these two teams met up back in November scoring 18 points and posting 6 boards and 2 steals in 29 minutes of action. He’s shot over 40 percent from downtown over his last 5 games and he’s scored 14 points or more in both of his last 2 games. Beasley should play around 30 minutes tonight in this pace boost of a match up and he’s been cleaning the glass a bit more lately as well pulling down 4 or more rebounds in 5 of his last 7 contests. The Hawks rank 18th in the league at guarding mid-courts. He’s shot at least 50 percent from the field in 2 of his last 4 battles. Beasley should take 10-15 shots this evening. He hasn’t been turning the ball over as much lately.
