With more and more contests under my belt, I feel extremely comfortable on Boom Fantasy. It was once again a very fun week of entering and playing in contests, despite the one little fact that I didn’t have a very successful week. If you haven’t heard, it’s Boom Thursday’s hear at Fantasy Alarm once again!

Like we have been doing each of the last few Thursday’s, we at Fantasy Alarm are hosting another contest on Boom! This week, once again, I was mainly focused on NBA and MLB contests, but decided to also test my luck with some PGA action for Round 1 of the A&T Byron Nelson tournament. My biggest takeaway from this week was a change in scoring on the site. They changed for both two and four athlete questions, but instead of just one player earning points based on performance, all of them will, which is a nice switch from before. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about: players have a specific amount of bonus points below them that ultimately can change the outlook of a tournament. The one’s that score you more points are normally the riskier play.

I personally love the fact that Boom is adapting so quickly. The change wasn’t something that seemed necessary, but it’s actually better. It’s nice that you’ll receive some sort of points and that you’re not always getting a goose egg when your guesses and research steer you in the wrong direction.

But as I mentioned in my introduction, even the extra points didn’t help me this week as I missed the boat in all my contests. In the NBA contests I wasn’t even close to cashing, as my plan to go with LeBron James the facilitator over LeBron James the scorer backfired. Kyrie Irving scored just 11 points, and The King didn’t rack up the assists I thought he would because he was in assassin mode.

The PGA tournament was definitely a fun switch up after an awful showing for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Trying to figure out who’s going to shoot the lowest round or accumulate the most birdies is hard. Boom does a good job with the research it provides for each question for Golf as well. They have each player’s average score per round if that’s what the question entails and how many birdies or bogies they have each round if that’s what the question is asking.

Download and play on Boom for a change of pace in your everyday DFS grind, its plain and simple. And be SURE to join Fantasy Alarm’s contest so you can take all of Howard Bender’s money per usual!
