Thursday night kicked off seasonal fantasy football for the 2017 season and that means all six teams I have on RealTime Fantasy Sports got underway.  As I explained in my article Real Time Fantasy Sports: Introduction RTSports offers many types of season long leagues but what I did not mention is that they also offer daily fantasy sports as well.  I myself am a DFS junkie so naturally I found myself taking part in RealTime Fantasy Sport’s DFS experience.

First off, here at Fantasy Alarm we have created custom DFS tools specifically for the RTSports platform which can be found at http://rts.fantasyalarm.com. The rosters for RTSports NFL DFS are as followed:

QB

RB

RB

WR

WR

WR

TE

Flex (RB/WR/TE)

D/ST

The scoring is relatively standard with four points for a passing touchdown, six points for a rushing or receiving touchdown and one point per catch.  Currently RTSports is running a $500 Freeroll contest for anybody interested in trying out which you can enter by clicking here.

With a salary cap of $50,000 I figured I would go ahead and enter this contest and put a lineup together. My strategy going into this was to be a bit contrarian given the large field of a freeroll you have to take some chances.  I would also like to comment on how solid the price points are as some of the lineups you can make on other DFS sites can get a little crazy with the value plays that seem to always be on the board.

QB: Sam Bradford $6,000: Despite growing up in Massachusetts and living there his whole life my dad is a HUGE Minnesota Vikings fan and this season I really like the team they will be putting on the field.  In Week 1 they draw a home matchup against the Saints who routinely rank among the worst defenses in the NFL.  Bradford is coming off a strong 2016 season which saw him complete 70-percent of his passes and throw for 3,800 yards.  I like the weapons he has around him in Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph and Adam Thielen as well as rookie running back Dalvin Cook who is a capable pass catcher as well.  I figure most will be spending up at the QB position so I will spend down with Bradford as 20 players are priced ahead of him.

RB: Todd Gurley $7,700: Gurley is my most expensive buy in Week 1 as I not only love his matchup at home against a Colts defense that probably couldn’t stop you running the football but I also am a believer in a bounce back season from the Rams running back.  I expect him to get fed early and often as the Rams look to establish a running game in an effort to open up the team’s passing attack behind Jared Goff.

RB: Christian McCaffrey $6,500: The Panthers will be heading west to open the season against the 49ers and once again this matchup is very favorable matchup as the 49ers allowed a league worst 165 yards per game on the ground last season.  Add to the fact that McCaffrey is a very capable receiver in this PPR format I think he has the potential to be one of the higher scoring backs of the week.

WR: Doug Baldwin $7,000: I am expecting a high scoring affair in Seattle’s Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers and therefore I love the idea of rostering Doug Baldwin who has had success against the Packers in previous meetings over the past few seasons.  Add in the fact that Russell Wilson will be healthy, something he was not last season, and I can see some big plays being made as he targets his No.1 receiver.

WR: Adam Thielen $6,500: Thielen turned in a career year in 2016, catching 69 passes for 967 yards and five touchdowns.  As I said in my Sam Bradford analysis, I love this matchup against a Saints defense that allowed the most passing yards per game last season.  I feel like many will look to target Stefon Diggs who is the team’s No.1 receiver but a change has been made in the Vikings offense that will see Thielen moved into the slot with Diggs moving to the outside.  Bradford is not known for his deep ball and threw the majority of his passes under 15 yards which should bode well for Thielen, especially in a PPR format.

WR: Kendall Wright $5,100: This is where the pricing really started to crack down on me as there were little in the way of value plays that I could find.  Wright is going to be the No.2 receiver for the Bears in Week 1 against the Falcons.  The team’s No.1 receiver is Kevin White who was a first round pick two seasons ago but injuries have really limited him to this point in his career.  Wright is no stranger to injury himself but he has proven to be a capable NFL receiver at times and so I am taking a shot at him in this PPR format.

TE: Jimmy Graham $6,700: Yup, another member of the Seattle Seahawks passing attack.  Graham seemingly shocked everybody last season by catching 65 passes for 923 yards and six touchdowns to finish with a Top 5 fantasy season.  The Packers allowed the second most passing yards per game last season and their secondary really did not improve too much this year for me to believe anything will be different.  Green Bay did focus on stopping Graham in their meeting last season but that was late in the year with Russell Wilson not at 100-percent. I expect a big Week 1 from the tight end in this matchup.

Flex: Braxton Miller $2,100: As George Costanza famously said, "You wanna get nuts?! C'mon, lets get nuts!" Miller is $2,100 which is essentially min price and he is slated to be the No.2 receiver for the Texans heading into Week 1 with Will Fuller sidelined with a broken collar bone.  The thinking behind my dart throw here is that the Jaguars defense will focus on stopping DeAndre Hopkins and be OK with Miller making a few plays against them.  Again with this being a PPR format I don’t exactly need Miller to go and set records here but a modest game of 4-5 catches for 50-60 yards will do so here's to hoping that happens. I wouldn’t mind a touchdown though either.

D/ST: Los Angeles Rams $2,400: What is a Scott Tolzien? A quick google search tells me it is the man the Colts will be starting under center in Week 1 on the road against a formidable Rams defense.  Tolzien appeared in three games with the Colts last season and finished with a QB rating of 64.7 in those three contests.  So the Rams defense here just makes sense to me.  The Colts offensive lines is among the league's worst so I look for the Rams to rush the passer early and often which will hopefully lead to some sacks, fumbles, interceptions and potentially defensive scores.

So there you have it, my DFS lineup for Week 1 on RTSports. If you are interested in joining up then click the following link http://www.Rtsports.com/alarm and sign up to starting winning real cash this season while playing fantasy football.
